Sooo...Meet-y

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their number. After the recent revelation, many of them were even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Brainiac 5 and Sensor were set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

GIVE HIM TIME.

"Unhand me!" Damian shouted, struggling against the tentacles.

Mal felt a pinprick of hope when he heard Nanoha talking about what Stacy had said. But the more he thought about it, the more unbelievable it seemed. "Hate to be a cynic, but until I see my crew members show up here, I ain't gonna be able to believe her." His expression softened into a smile as he added, "Glad you've found someone you know, though."

Then, scanning the area, he decided he'd seen enough people for awhile. "I think I'm about ready to go, if you are."

[identity profile] better-robin.livejournal.com 2009-12-02 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
"He recognized me. That means he's tried to kill me. Whatever else he's done." Damian glared through him at Jason. "You're soft, Grayson. You probably would have forgiven him even his latest murders. But he isn't trustworthy."

[identity profile] notaheroanymore.livejournal.com 2009-12-02 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Cissie looked over to him and shrugged. "Don't know. He's a hero and he doesn't really tell people his real name. It's kinda a no no in the hero community." She smiled a bit. "I do know he's Superboy's cousin though. But I doubt that helps."

Diana had considered giving him a chance, that maybe he was from another world where he wasn't so sneaky (after all, people could change for the better.) But it seemed he was the same old snake in the grass she'd come to dislike, even though it was severely toned down from the version she knew. But did that make him evil or just incredibly shady?

"Endangering the crew hardly makes him sound trustworthy," Diana frowned, folding her arms and shifting her weight to one foot. (at least she was certain there was a crew now, but that wasn't really the point.) "Even after this, those of other worlds still place their faith in him? Have there been other incidents?"

"Bulky bat-armor?" Hal questioned. He didn't know of anyone in his timeline who would have anything like that. "Do you remember what he looked like?" Hal sort of had the feeling that he might know who this was. Probably Guy would, too.

[identity profile] greenisnewblack.livejournal.com 2009-12-02 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
And here we go again. First he had to deal with Guy throwing a tantrum at him and now jason. "And here I thought you would have been happy." Kyle sighed and stared up at the...meaty...ceiling...

"Power battery was going to explode..we were surrounded by the bad guys who couldn't be killed...because they were dead to begin with. Someone had to do something."

"Well, the short version is..."

Whatever the short version is goes unsaid as a third person joins them, and it's not anyone Jamie recognizes. However, judging by the fact that he's mentioning the zombie lady Jamie decapitated recently, the other person knows /him/. Even with that, Jamie is still a bit confused, and it's reflected in his response.

"Och, thank ye?" He looks at the other man, still failing to place Terry's face. But the voice does sound a little familiar.

"I'm sorry. Were ye in the medbay during the zombie attack?"

"I don't know that you're trustworthy, either," he pointed out. "But you're apparently Robin, which means someone figured you were worthy of that title." And since Dick was the one who originated said title, he's got a fair idea of what it takes to earn it. "And in case you didn't notice, there's more going on here than our own petty squabbles. We need to pull together, not drive each other apart."

"Wiped out of existence? You've got to be kidding," Hal said, as a consequence of being told the worst case scenario. In his head, anyway. "How would the universe have been completely wiped out of existence if I just... ended up here after being crashed into the batsignal?" he questioned. The universe had still been quite in tact at that point. He wasn't about to believe that the universe had been destroyed instantaneously right after he crashed with glass shards in his head.

"Just that one, so far as I know." Which put him more decidedly in the 'shady' category than outright evil. Though it was bad enough. "Unfortunately, Stacy said that she pulled not only the heroes from the worlds, but the villains as well because of their intelligence."

And God, he did NOT want to think about the Joker being in one of those pods. Really, really didn't.

[identity profile] reallyiscrazy.livejournal.com 2009-12-02 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hold on a damn second." He glared over at Damian from behind Dick's shoulder, completely using his older brother as a shield. So he wasn't tempted to strangle the brat who he was sure should have a few more holes in him than he currently did. "What murders are you talking about?"

[identity profile] reallyiscrazy.livejournal.com 2009-12-02 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"So you had to go and be a big damn hero? Are you fucking crazy? I knew you had a screw loose but I didn't think it was this bad!" He growled a bit in frustration. Of all the stupid crap he'd ever heard of. How could someone just, Jason didn't even want to think it.

"Why the fuck am I friends with all the damn bleeding hearts? God you people are going to drive me insane."

[identity profile] indigoblueberry.livejournal.com 2009-12-02 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"I think it would be better to think that way," she comments. "After all. With as many pods as Stacy has, with as many different worlds, I don't think that everyone would be able to stay on one world. If we treat it like our worlds will return, others might not worry so much."

He smiled a bit at that. No mirth or happiness, but a smile. "Can't help it. I'm a bit too much of a pragmatist to really take it to heart." Blame Batman. "I'm hoping so, though. I was in the middle of a fight to keep the world in one piece. I'd really hate for that to have been a waste."

[identity profile] better-robin.livejournal.com 2009-12-02 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"They may not have happened yet. You and your sidekick decided to attempt to replace Batman and me." He still had unhappy feelings about Scarlet. "Of course, your method involved murder and twitter. Too bad you're really fairly pathetic. We stopped you easily and Gordon arrested you."

[identity profile] diana-inthecia.livejournal.com 2009-12-02 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"Sounds different than the Luthor we know." At least on the surface. "Though keeping an eye on him wouldn't be a bad idea."

Diana could only imagine what fun Circe would have on this ship. She was enough trouble, as it were, reviving Hippolyta for her games of revenge and torment. With all the men around, it wouldn't be any better.

"If that's the case," Diana pondered aloud, "What keeps everyone from tearing the other apart?"

He could have asked what the hell Twitter was, but Dick decided not to. After all, he could find out later. From someone else. Maybe. "Sounds like all the more reason not to try pushing Jason when you're already concerned about his sanity," Dick pointed out, relieved to hear that Jason had lived through his dive from the bridge.

Not that it made him feel any less guilty about apparently having been the one doing the throwing. "Assuming, of course, that we can even get back home in the first place."

Sparhawk returns the thoughtful look with a rather bland one of his own. "I'm Sir Sparhawk," and he offers a shallow bow. "Formerly of Elenia, and now leader of Team India aboard Stacey. Have you been given the explanation of why you've woken up here?"

"Don't worry. We are." Which meant the Bats. Because Bruce wasn't going to leave Luthor the run of the ship without keeping an eye on him.

He sighed, rubbing the back of his head. "There have been a couple of times that's been a near enough thing," he replied. "Though that was when we thought all we needed to do was get to the bridge and we'd be able to get home. Hopefully, the knowledge that we're all in this together, refugees and all, will help bring some of them more into line."

[identity profile] reallyiscrazy.livejournal.com 2009-12-02 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
"Wait wait.. Did you just say I had a sidekick? What?!" He shook his head and glared. "I'm crazy but I'm not that crazy. Plus there's only one sidekick I'd ever take, and he's not biting." He was talking about Tim of course, but he wasn't going to say that bit out loud. "Plus what the hell does Twitter have to do with any of this?"

[identity profile] greenestlantern.livejournal.com 2009-12-02 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Guy offered a glowing green hand from his ring to shake. "Guy Gardner, Green Lantern Sector 2814." Seemed like this was another of those guys who'd never seen a Green Lantern before. He grinned. "Cop, huh? Guess we got that in common."

[identity profile] angledtwat777.livejournal.com 2009-12-02 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Nicholas stared at the hand.

And stared. And stared some more.

Well, manners came in anyway and he shook the hand, confused as to why his fingers were actually able to grip it instead of going through like it was some sort of ghoulish specter that was ready to float right through him like Jacob Marley through the door of Ebenezer Scrooge.

"Police officer," he corrected, nodding.

Sparhawk simply gives a nod of greeting as he's addressed rather abruptly. But, it's only to be expected, he's sure that he wasn't the best of company when he emerged from the ooze.

"My armour was released to me when we had to fight for control of the ship. Leon Kennedy would have the list of items recovered. Other clothes might be somewhere in the Possessions lockers, although I suspect not."

He's still wearing the plantsuit under his armour, anyway.

She is, but at the same time - he looks older, and that should have been her first clue. But between being so happy to see him and so worried, she hadn't really stopped to think . . . but she smiled, good memories intruding on her recent ones, which mostly involved zombies.

"Matt, I remember that date." She squeezes his hand. "I know you know."

As for the rest of the stuff - she looks at the magic, the familiar tingle of Quintessence, the strange story of her Normal Boyfriend being magical all along (not that she didn't always think he was special).

"So . . . you have powers now, and you're a Knight of Kandrakar, you could be a jerk but you're not, and . . . anything else?"

Just so she has everything straight.
