Hail the Conquering Heroes
Things can happen without Stacy knowing, that much is apparent now. The damage to her sensors is significant. But the fighting clued her in.
After it's all over, after those captured have been rescued, after the injured have been tended to, only the nest is left, and Stacy takes care of it.
||Infestation of Cluster 42, Level 4, Sector 7, Sublevel 12, Zone 37 has been detected. Triggering internal defenses. Decontamination commencing.||
There is a pause.
||Decontamination complete.||
Simple as that, once she knows the problem was there. Her internal sensors are damaged, especially in the city, and so are some of the systems monitoring them. You have to know what's broken to know to fix it.
Such a simple thing and it only took one man dying to make it happen. (His body is gone, by the way, ripped to shreds and eaten. There's not even a spot of blood on the floor. That's the bugs' doing. The bugs' bodies are gone too--that's Stacy's doing).
||Any injured personnel that still have not received medical attention, report to the nearest lift, and you will be transported to the MedBay. Any uninjured personnel, report to the Living Area, to the restroom facilities to undergo decontamination of xenobiological material. Then report to the Obs Deck to meet your new crew-mates.||
Said crew-mates--and the Doctor, who'd skipped out and miraculously ducked and weaved his way to the lift when he'd realized the Master was there--are there and waiting, and just a tad confused.

"So hey, planet? Name? I'm Allen Gentry, from at least one version of Earth."

Kon waved to the new guy.
"New guy, this is Brainy. Don't let him convince you otherwise."
As quickly as he was there, Kon flitted off.

Brainy gets some more blinking.
"That was Superboy, wasn't it."
Allen's doped-up beam breaks into a full smile.
"This is the best abduction in the history of abductions. My wife's gonna be so jealous."

A pause, as Allen considers things through his sedated haze.
"Unless she's here, too. Hey, you haven't seen a totally gorgeous redhead, have you? About yea high," he lifts his hand to about his mid-pectoral region, "Green eyes, awesome hips, probably really pissed off and threatening to kill everyone and everything, adorable spray of freckles on her nose . . ."

He's been too busy noticing the blondes.no subject
And then it's gone, replaced once more by the stoner beam. "So, Brainy it is. 'Sup, Brainy? How you doin'?"
no subject
Then he looks at his omnicom and frowns.
"What...are you? You seem almost baseline human, except..."
My, these readings are interesting.
no subject
Allen frowns. "I mean, seriously? That's a breach of privacy. I mean, I'd let you if you asked, but the asking is important."
His posture has suddenly stabilized, and his pupils are contracting - which makes it a lot easier for him to notice things like fancy alien tech. His focus lands on the scanner like a hawk zeroing in on a tasty little rodent.
"Can I see that?"
no subject
He goes on, "I also have several medical degrees and it's highly likely I'm the most qualified physician here. Baseline scans of all the individuals here, while they're in good health, would be wise to have, given my unfamiliarity with some of the species and variants on species here."
He still taps away at the screen. "As for my allowing you to see this, it depends on whether or not you intend to break it or delete my data."
no subject
"Notice how I asked first then clearly stated my intentions and am politely waiting for you to amend the conditions of the handover before snatching it away like a five year old with a plastic truck? You gotta do that, but with scanning."
no subject
He shoots him a slight glare. "Your analogy is hardly cogent. I'm not taking anyone else's belongings without permission, and the information could be vital for us to escape--or for me to save a life. Regardless of whether I'm given permission or not, I need it."
He seems quite serious about that. Okay, so his social skills approach levels somewhere near nil, but apparently he thinks it's his responsibility to get them all home/doctor up anyone who's hurt.
no subject
The analogy may not be cogent, but we all know about that box of pictures, Brainy.
"Yeah, you look like the kind who likes to watch."
no subject
It's a holo-collection.Brainy squeaks indignantly, flushing a darker green. Yes, squeaks. It's a very nerdy sound.
"I most certainly am not. And that genetic information could save their lives. There are instances where I wished I'd taken better read-outs of my team-mates. One of them nearly died because my data on her was limited and she sustained quite a bit of genetic damage. Had we not coerced a supervillain geneticist into helping us mutate her to another form--one she despised--she would have died."

Some were weirder.

Allen's calm smile has intensified into a very amused smirk. Look at the widdle shut in poo-poo-ing biological urges because he hasn't gotten any. It's actually endearing.
"So, can I see your tech or what? I promise I'll be good."
no subject
"Only if you promise to stop being ridiculous."
no subject
no subject
"Do not delete anything or break it."
