Karaoke Night [OPEN]
I just need a way to relax.
He suddenly heard music, and opened his eyes to what appeared to be a high class nightclub, but filled with the strangest creatures he had ever seen, even since arriving on the ship. Behind the bar, a green-skinned redhead with horns, more conspicuous for his paisley shirt and purple ascot, was trying to get his attention.
"Hey, kiddo, didn't you hear them call your name?" The demon said, smiling. "You're up, bubbulah. Don't worry, I picked a good song for you." Peter eyed him warily. Wherever this place had come from, it was not his head. But decided not to question it, and went to stand in front of a karaoke machine on stage. He picked up the mike and saw the song, and smiled. He loved this song. EVERYONE loved this song. Luckily, a few years in boy's choir had given him a sense of tune, and puberty had left him with a decent tenor. So, he began to sing.
o/` I can't fight this feeling any longer,
And yet I'm still afraid to let it flow... o/`
That was all it took. As if suddenly injected with 100 ccs of pure rock ballad awesome, Peter closed his eyes and began letting the music take him, eventually rocking out. He had forgotten what it was like, honestly. Forgotten the fun of just letting go and having fun. And as he finished up the REO Speedwagon classic, breathing heavily and feeling alive, he wished he hadn't.
But then he opened his eyes to notice more than just his holographic audience had filtered into the "club".
"Uh... Next?" He said as he hastily replaced the mike and went to get a holo-beer.
That was embarrassing. He could only hope someone would follow him up and make it slightly less so.
[ooc: Start a subthread with your character approaching the stage and singing a song. Characters can react to other's performances even if they aren't singing themselves. And any song you'd like, Lorne has the entire mutliverse on karaoke. I'm not asking, and neither should you.]

She made a point to not let her single eye fix on the crowd, she kept it down on the string, her fingers finding the right chords to start, a soft haunting tune pouring out. Her voice, strong, deep and smooth followed after the introductory bar, something that was surprisingly mellow for her reputation.
"No one knows what it's like
To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes
No one knows what it's like
To be hated
To be fated
To telling only lies
But my dreams
They aren't as empty
As my conscience seems to be
I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance
That's never free
No one knows what it's like
To feel these feelings
Like I do
And I blame you
No one bites back as hard
On their anger
None of my pain and woe
Can show through
But my dreams
They aren't as empty
As my conscience seems to be
I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance
That's never free
When my fist clenches, crack it open
Before I use it and lose my cool
When I smile, tell me some bad news
Before I laugh and act like a fool
If I swallow anything evil
Put your finger down my throat
If I shiver, please give me a blanket
Keep me warm, let me wear your coat
No one knows what it's like
To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes"
She didn't wait for an audience reaction, simply handed off the guitar and stepped down moving back to the far end of the bar and ordering another beer...or four.

He walked up to Rose Wilson, pulled her to face him, then gave her a hug.
After which, he quickly backed off and looked both ways, like he was afraid of people seeing him do that.
"That took guts, and yer song was just as perfect as mine was. So... thanks. I know ya hate trust buildin' exercises, but at least here we get booze, and get ta get things off our chests." He smiled. "Ain't so bad. And I hear sensorium beer don't give ya hangovers."

IF he wasn't so 'bad-ass', he might've teared up.
"Rose...that was... that was beautiful." He knew she wasn't comfortable, but still, he had to say something.

The pale skinned male stepped back quickly enough and covered it with some complements to her. Rose found herself in unfamiliar emotional territory, someone being kind without wanting something out of her, someone saying something nice to her. Rose grabbed Slobo by the lapels and tugged him to her, a hard, fast and fierce kiss pressed to his lips before she let him go. "Thanks."
Static didn't get the kiss, but she did at least smile at him, taking the beer gratefully. "Thanks V, told ya I could sing."

Story of my life, right here.

What didn't escape her eye was Static's quiet reaction. She imagined he probably felt a little like the third wheel for that. She didn't like seeing him like that.
"Um, Static?" Boy, she was going to regret this. "Do you mind if I share a beer with you?"

Getting kissed, however? That was a first. Slobo sat down on a stool, looking somewhat dazed. Katara's comment knocked it out of him. He eyed Static with a grin.
"V, when a lady asks fer somethin', it's rude to keep 'em waiting." His grin almost said something on it's own.

Katara also got a smile, but as yet the two didn't know each other. "Hey, I'm Rose, guessin' we're Outsiders together." Hey give it up for Rose, she was almost being friendly.
'Bo was looking a bit stunned, that drew a chuckle and she slapped the bar top. "How about something stronger than beer? Maybe a whiskey? Vodka?"
no subject
"Here ya go, Kat. Just don't drink too much or too fast; I get the feeling you haven't done much of this before."

"Be good, sweetheart. Mr. Bacardi packs a punch."
Re: Outsiders Karaoke
That, and she looked really, really cool. She reminded her a little of that woman that had helped then find Zuko's uncle Iroh.
At the little jibe, Katara bristled a little, anxious to show the Outsider's she wasn't just the mommy member.
"I'll give it a shot," she said, and gave the pitcher a nice, long sip. The taste was definitely different from the beer she'd had. It was stronger, and it made Katara cough a little. Strangely enough, she liked that it was a stronger drink. The beer always took more getting used to.
Re: Outsiders Karaoke
"You made the wave things in the water right? Pretty cool deal. So is that like water control or seismic stuff? I knew a chick who did the whole geo-control thing before."
Rose happily accepted a whiskey sour, not too bad. She sipped and speared her maraschino cherry with the straw, nibbling on it with white even teeth.
Re: Outsiders Karaoke
"So... Uh... The girls we got are... Friendly..." He said to Static very quietly, sounding almost nervous. It's hard for him to ask for guy advice, but his body language may be saying it for him.
Re: Outsiders Karaoke
He chugged his own drink and ordered another.
Re: Outsiders Karaoke
Well, nevermind. for some reason, Static looked put out, and she didn't want to exasperate things. She wished she knew what was troubling him though.
"I'm a waterbender, actually. I can bend the water with martial arts. As long as it has water in it, I can use it for bending. For instance..."
She twirled her fingers in the air, and some of the beer in Static's up started to make figure eights in the air before it dropped right back in Static's cup.
She looked over at the guys. "You two okay?"
