Karaoke Night [OPEN]

Between nearly killing himself trying to help people and his talk with Nathan, Peter was exhausted. Even with his upbeat demeanor, it was hard to not say he felt stressed. His flight-breaks no longer helping, he decided he needed to take a few hours. He found himself at the sensoriums, a place he had heard talked about like the holodeck from Star Trek. As he walked in, it was a blank room. He closed his eyes and thought to himself.

I just need a way to relax.

He suddenly heard music, and opened his eyes to what appeared to be a high class nightclub, but filled with the strangest creatures he had ever seen, even since arriving on the ship. Behind the bar, a green-skinned redhead with horns, more conspicuous for his paisley shirt and purple ascot, was trying to get his attention.

"Hey, kiddo, didn't you hear them call your name?" The demon said, smiling. "You're up, bubbulah. Don't worry, I picked a good song for you." Peter eyed him warily. Wherever this place had come from, it was not his head. But decided not to question it, and went to stand in front of a karaoke machine on stage. He picked up the mike and saw the song, and smiled. He loved this song. EVERYONE loved this song. Luckily, a few years in boy's choir had given him a sense of tune, and puberty had left him with a decent tenor. So, he began to sing.

o/` I can't fight this feeling any longer,
And yet I'm still afraid to let it flow... o/`

That was all it took. As if suddenly injected with 100 ccs of pure rock ballad awesome, Peter closed his eyes and began letting the music take him, eventually rocking out. He had forgotten what it was like, honestly. Forgotten the fun of just letting go and having fun. And as he finished up the REO Speedwagon classic, breathing heavily and feeling alive, he wished he hadn't.

But then he opened his eyes to notice more than just his holographic audience had filtered into the "club".

"Uh... Next?" He said as he hastily replaced the mike and went to get a holo-beer.

That was embarrassing.  He could only hope someone would follow him up and make it slightly less so.

[ooc: Start a subthread with your character approaching the stage and singing a song. Characters can react to other's performances even if they aren't singing themselves. And any song you'd like, Lorne has the entire mutliverse on karaoke. I'm not asking, and neither should you.]

Katara smiled broadly in Slobo's direction, and then gave Rose a nod and an eager smile. "I thought I saw you in the pool at the Outsider's headquarters. My name is Katara, nice to meet you! Oh, and I really like the eye patch!"

That, and she looked really, really cool. She reminded her a little of that woman that had helped then find Zuko's uncle Iroh.

At the little jibe, Katara bristled a little, anxious to show the Outsider's she wasn't just the mommy member.

"I'll give it a shot," she said, and gave the pitcher a nice, long sip. The taste was definitely different from the beer she'd had. It was stronger, and it made Katara cough a little. Strangely enough, she liked that it was a stronger drink. The beer always took more getting used to.

"Oh yeah! Sorry everything got kinda fuzzy after toaster boy there took a dip." Rose grinned through that and She sidled up to the bar where Katara was sitting, other side from where Virg was.

"You made the wave things in the water right? Pretty cool deal. So is that like water control or seismic stuff? I knew a chick who did the whole geo-control thing before."

Rose happily accepted a whiskey sour, not too bad. She sipped and speared her maraschino cherry with the straw, nibbling on it with white even teeth.

Slobo had a pint of lager placed in front of him to replace the one he seemed to have already chugged. Anyone not looking at him having directly done that would have simply caught a flash of movement and empty glass. This one he favored. He leaned over to Static.

"So... Uh... The girls we got are... Friendly..." He said to Static very quietly, sounding almost nervous. It's hard for him to ask for guy advice, but his body language may be saying it for him.

Static slapped him on the shoulder. "Just shut up and drink." Who, Static? Bitter? Never...

He chugged his own drink and ordered another.

Katara looked surprised. "Is that why Sheena was about to..."

Well, nevermind. for some reason, Static looked put out, and she didn't want to exasperate things. She wished she knew what was troubling him though.

"I'm a waterbender, actually. I can bend the water with martial arts. As long as it has water in it, I can use it for bending. For instance..."

She twirled her fingers in the air, and some of the beer in Static's up started to make figure eights in the air before it dropped right back in Static's cup.

She looked over at the guys. "You two okay?"
