Mix-and-Mingle
After the most recent pod-pop had been completed, Stacy began encouraging the crew towards the Obs Deck. They would be most effective if they were familiar with each other, and as the Jaime Reyes Incident had proved, leaving them to meet whenever they happened to cross paths was not effective.
Anyone who stepped into the Hub would be transported to the Obs Deck, no matter where they had intended to go. Those who had been exploring the City were verbally herded towards the Hub, although the energy tentacles did not make an appearance.
||Please report to the Obs Deck for Crew Introductions.||
The Obs Deck hadn't changed very much since they'd last been there. The creepy sculpture was still present, as were the fleshy couches. However, the couches were arranged in a more obvious circle this time.
Come and meet the new -- and in some cases, weirder -- members of your crew.

"Not really, and maybe a little curious? Even if this feels more like homeroom with the reporting in. I almost expect Stacey to start calling roll."
no subject
"Oh man, I hope she doesn't pull out those break-the-ice games," he groaned. " 'Come up with an animal that starts with the third letter of your middle name', 'tell us something that no one knows about you' -- blech. We're not five."
no subject
She lightly nudged him with her elbow, "Way to go, genius, now she will since you gave her the idea."
no subject
He groaned theatrically and covered his head with his hands. "Nooo, not day-camp! Anything but day-camp!"
no subject
She shook her head, and then added, "Hey, camp's not so bad, just have to find the more creative one to go to."

See Brenda: the planet-destroying goddess of flesh-eating, alien squirrels.
"I dunno, there's only so many times you can scavenger-hunt across town before you empty your water bottle over the nearest person just to keep your brain from dying."

Kate paced around a few steps as she considered, "I think any activities we get probably won't be like that. Or it'll be a warped version that hurts our heads."

Kate nodded, "Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of. I hope she's not sending us into a battle soon. I'm an Avenger, not a soldier. I can't kill someone."
no subject
"Killing's not exactly my first choice either," Paco said, tilting his head back to stare up at the ceiling. He'd never been in a situation where it would come up, aside from when the Reach had attacked. But the Reach had been easy, they'd been trying to kill him -- and Brenda and the Reyeses and even Milagro -- to hurt Jaime so they could kill him. And then blow up the planet and enslave the survivors.
But killing someone wasn't exactly something he liked thinking about.
"There are always kneecaps," he tried to joke.

Kate nodded, "Arrow through the hand's a great distraction too. They usually drop their guns then."
no subject
"I'll take your word for it," he said, relaxing. "I'd probably miss by a mile."
no subject
She smiled, and admitted, "Well, it does take a little practice."
no subject
"Well, maybe you could give me a few lessons," he said with a grin. "I'd be up for that if you would."
no subject
Kate smiled, "I could, you ever want to stop by. I'm usually training in the Sensoriums most mornings."
no subject
"Awesome, I'll drop by some time," Paco said, grinning back. Weapons training with a hot girl. Score.
no subject
She added with a smirk, "Could also spar or give you some pointers on other fighting styles. *If* your fragile male ego can handle being beaten by a *girl?*"
no subject
"My male ego is surprisingly sturdy," he replied with a wink. Last year, an entire class had put their spring trip money on Brenda kicking his ass. The ego, it was sturdy. "I don't hit girls, though."
no subject
Kate nodded, "all right, but don't expect me to hold back either way. Not much of a sparring session though, and it's different. If we are going to have to fight, whatever we face, they'll hit anyone."
no subject
no subject
"All right. You might reconsider that principle after I kick your ass a couple of times."
no subject
"It's survived eight years of angry redhead," Paco said with a grin. "Bring it on."
