Meet and Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicomms and comm rings. They are also told they must read information about their current situation and a survival guide with their new omnicomm. New crewmates might see a tall dragonish guy with wings (but don't call him that), a large afro attached to a smaller girl, and talking ponies among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in. But thankfully this time, there's a system that was set up to aid the new crew members with a few more experienced ones.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies. Big brother/sister, there will be a thread for you as well!]

...okay, definitely not the future. That stuff happened...shortly after she met Gina.

Veronica's quiet, mulling this over in her head. It's rather confusing to say the least.

"...I'm gonna take a shot in the dark here, and guess that you're a courier."

Elle nods. Then, hesitantly, quietly, eyes low, she says, "You really don't know me, do you?"

Ouch, right in the gut.

"I'm afraid not. I'm sorry..." she answers, just as quietly.

A few moments of awkward silence pass before she speaks up again. "...that could be changed, though."

"I..." She takes in a deep breath and exhales softly. "I would like that. If that's something you'd want."

"Well, I brought it up, so yeah - that'd be something I'd want." She smiles a little, and reaches over to try and pat Elle on the shoulder.

"Welcome aboard. Fair warning, though - the crazy shit at home doesn't have anything on the stuff here."

Elle attempts a smile back. "Considering the universe is being destroyed by time-traveling alien bugs? I figure it's part of the job description."

She squats down next to pet Rex. "Hey, what do you think? Do you wanna be friends, too?"

Well... She's still not entirely sure what to make of this. It still hurts, but. At least Veronica and Rex are here, alive. They were saved. And even if they have to start over... Elle's not really alone. (Right? There's some part of her that doubts this, but she tries to fight it back.)

Thankfully for Elle, Rex would be easier to get to know again. He barks once, and happily receives the pettings with his tail a-swishing.

"Yeah. I haven't seen them first-hand yet myself, but I get the feeling that they're gonna put our big bugs back home to shame."
