Meet and Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicomms and comm rings. They are also told they must read information about their current situation and a survival guide with their new omnicomm. New crewmates might see a tall dragonish guy with wings (but don't call him that), a large afro attached to a smaller girl, and talking ponies among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in. But thankfully this time, there's a system that was set up to aid the new crew members with a few more experienced ones.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies. Big brother/sister, there will be a thread for you as well!]

Edward crossed his arms. "Trust me, if he was awake, he'd be here with all the other older crew members." That was just how Alphonse was, always worrying after Ed. Or maybe that was how family worked, because Ed would do the just the same.

"Just Edward's fine. Or Ed." He scuffed at the organic floor with one toe. "Hope the rest of the ship isn't like this. It's gonna make things a lot messier."

Sabriel nods and curls her lip at the floor. "At the very least it doesn't seem like our next night is going to be spent surrounded by slime. That was very much the opposite of pleasant."

She's still got slime in her hair. Gross. "I just hope that infernal voice that calls itself my mother doesn't exist in this entire place."

"You're telling me." Edward frowned, looking up at Sabriel's remnant slime. "Hey, I know some people don't get along with their parents, but shouldn't you be a little nicer to your mother?"

He motioned to her hair. "Do you want any help with that?"

"Not my mother. My mother died in childbirth. I meant that." She points a finger up towards the ceiling. "Stacy, or however she pronounces her name. I don't appreciate her attempting to encroach on my mother's position."

Sabriel shakes her head. She's not fond of having other people clean her up. "I'll take care of it in time."

Edward's expression darkened. "...Sorry. Yeah. Same here. I don't know who she really is, but it's not any relation of mine." What was it with ominous, looming powers and their affection for claiming to be parental figures, anyway?

He shrugged. "Okay, but it'd only take a second or two."

"I don't dislike her, but I dislike the voice. I'd rather she just be straightforward with us." Sabriel's eyes narrow. She is an early initiate to the haterade club, apparently.

"I just prefer to do most things myself. It seems crude to rely on others." She didn't like the tentacles cleaning her up either.

"Yeah, and I don't have a lot of fond memories of disembodied voices and shadowy whatevers." Clearly they should both join the club! Maybe even get official membership cards!

"I don't like all this talk about messing around with our souls, either. Where I come from, that kind of thing's forbidden."
