Meet and Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicomms and comm rings. They are also told they must read information about their current situation and a survival guide with their new omnicomm. New crewmates might see a tall dragonish guy with wings (but don't call him that), a large afro attached to a smaller girl, and talking ponies among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in. But thankfully this time, there's a system that was set up to aid the new crew members with a few more experienced ones.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies. Big brother/sister, there will be a thread for you as well!]

"Hah?" Edward merely held the device up and squinted at it, not particularly impressed. "Well, if it's so important, you shouldn't go around dropping it."

He snorted, but let go of Carson. "That's an awfully convenient story."

The device is currently deactivated, and there seems to be no way to turn it on. Carson is just watching the item worriedly. "I didn't drop it. It fell when you grabbed me." The Scotsman grumbles, adjusting his coat once the alchemist had let go.

"And some of us would be... Dead if it wasn't for Stacy." There was a slight pause there, because, yes, Carson was one of them... If it wasn't for this bloody ship, he'd be dead right now.

"Same thing." At least as far as Edward was concerned. Guy should get a case for it or something.

He waved off Carson's story. "Sure, sure. Are there any other alchemists on board? Or anyone from Amestris?"

"Not that I know of." And Carson snatches for the device. If he's able to lay a hand on it, the device will activate and start beeping for as long as his hand is in contact.

"No-one on the crew manifest."

Edward merely tossed it back to Carson, giving it up without a fight. He wasn't a thief. Besides, he could probably transmute another whatever-it-was, anyway.

"All right, guess I've gotta find 'em myself, then." No problem. Yeah. First he had to find Alphonse and then he had to get the hell back to Amestris before Father could do any real, permanent damage.

If he hadn't already.

Not likely. Carson would be pretty upset if any of his Atlantean tech got broken.

"It could be that they're still in the pods. We don't know who's in them until they've emerged."

He forgives you, Ed. He completely understands the whole confusion thing about waking up in a silme pod.

Ed looked annoyed. "You don't need to make me feel better. If that whole fish story's true? A couple of people I know being in the pods would be nice. But you know what's not nice? All those other people that didn't get so lucky."

"And you dinnae ha'tae preach t'me about people being lost, son." Carson was getting a little bit annoyed. "I know all about the people who aren't so lucky. I've got friends and family who are supposedly dead, too. We all have." He gestures to the room at general.

He pauses. "I only know one person from Atlantis that Stacy chose. The rest? They could be dead for all I know."

Only a little bit?

"Arrrrgh... I said if. I still don't trust all this crap about space bugs." Edward hadn't seen any Ohm, of course, and had no reason to trust a bunch of strangers that for all he know might have been the ones to bring him here (wherever here was) in the first place. Sure wouldn't be the first time picked him up and used him like a glorified chess piece.
