Meet and Greet
The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers.
Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicomms and comm rings. They are also told they must read information about their current situation and a survival guide with their new omnicomm. New crewmates might see a tall dragonish guy with wings (but don't call him that), a large afro attached to a smaller girl, and talking ponies among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.
There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in. But thankfully this time, there's a system that was set up to aid the new crew members with a few more experienced ones.
[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies. Big brother/sister, there will be a thread for you as well!]

"T-thank you," she replied, adjusting it with one hand. "Please forgive me for being so direct with my question, but is your name Tetsuwan Atom?"
no subject
Unlike on Earth, almost no one on the ship recognized him for who he really was -- so it came as something of a shock to be so suddenly identified.
no subject
"I do. I have read about you. My name is Naoto Shirogane and I am pleased to meet you, Atom-kun."
no subject
He paused. "Um, if you don't mind, a lot of the people on the ship don't really know who I am, so..."
no subject
"What is it that you would like?" Perhaps he was going to ask her to keep it a secret or wonder how he knew her. She would let him continue himself instead of trying to guess correctly.
no subject
"If you could kind of keep it quiet that I'm well-known, I'd appreciate it. Back home, everyone knew who I was. Not that that was all that bad, but... sometimes it's nice just to keep a low profile, you know?"
no subject
"O-oh of course! I will make certain to keep this secret safe with me regarding your popularity, Atom-kun." She knew all too well of how popularity could be both a boon and a curse. "How long have you been on this spaceship vehicle, if I may ask?"

"I see. This would explain how I could not tell the time correctly upon my arrival. I had assumed it was due to space travel itself, but I suppose since we do not have a sun and a moon to give us proper time, there is only room left for estimation."
She most certainly could ask questions too.
"Perhaps if you could tell me a bit about the different areas of the ship and the command structure to begin with. We were already given some information, but I would like to learn more, if this is possible."
no subject
shh let's just pretend that makes sense."He nodded. "Okay, let's see... the Mess Hall is the easiest place to get something to eat, but you can only get slop there and it's kind of gross. If you want, you can eat the slop in the Sensoriums and use them to trick your brain into thinking you're eating whatever you want, though. As for living spaces, some people sleep in rooms in the Crew Quarters. But other people just find a room or house in the City somewhere -- it's a big collection of buildings the ship scooped up from different places in the universe, so there are castles and skyscrapers and train stations all mixed in together."
"Then there's the Hangar, where they keep all the spaceships, and Hydroponics, which is full of all kinds of plants and animals. Oh yeah: the Sensoriums are kind of like virtual reality rooms. You can call up images of whatever you want in there, and some people use them to train. Then there's the Media Library, where you can get all kinds of books, movies, and music..." As he explained each area, he pointed each out on the map on his Omnicomm.
He paused. "By the way... you don't have to be so formal with me, you know. I mean, unless I make you uncomfortable or something."
