Meet and Greet
The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers.
Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicomms and comm rings. They are also told they must read information about their current situation and a survival guide with their new omnicomm. New crewmates might see a tall dragonish guy with wings (but don't call him that), a large afro attached to a smaller girl, and talking ponies among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.
There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in. But thankfully this time, there's a system that was set up to aid the new crew members with a few more experienced ones.
[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies. Big brother/sister, there will be a thread for you as well!]

"But anyways, yes. I'm a pony. Name's Applejack, actually. What's yours?"
no subject
The few glances she had managed to get from looking at the t.v. from inside the card had shown her bits and pieces of some westerns.
At the sound of the name she smiled, "That's a neat name, I like it! I'm Mashu."
no subject
"I reckon you might find a hat somewhere. How about asking my friend Rarity? She makes all kinds of clothes."
no subject
She smiled at the prospect and nodded, "Really? That'd be pretty neat!"
no subject
Applejack smiled fondly at the thought. Oh, Rarity. She was so kind, yet so fussy.
"As for me? I run a little fruit orchard. I grow apples and make apple treats when I've got enough of 'em."
no subject
At the latter comment she leaned down closer and looked curiously at Applejack, "What's an apple? And fruit orchards?"
no subject
She turned to the side, presenting her flank---where three little red marks in a distinct shape stood out in the orange hairs.
"Apples are a kind of fruit. Fruits are these sweet plants you eat, and orchards are groups of trees where they grow! You've gotta have one while you're here!" she insisted, wishing she'd brought one in her saddlebag.
no subject
Watch out Applejack, someone didn't understand the part where you said it was a 'mark' of an apple and is looking to take a small bite of your flank!
no subject
"Whoa now! That's no apple. It's a cutie mark---a picture of one. Real apples are bigger. Taste better too!" she huffed, breathless.
no subject
"Wait it's not? So it just looks like that then? Shoulda told me that before!" she exclaimed as if it should be common knowledge!
no subject
"But anyways, you'll want a real one. It's round and juicy, sorta like..."
In all the swishing of her tail, one fell out of her backpack. There was something left after all!
"Like that."
no subject
She made an assortment of faces; from really happy, to confused. "It tastes great!!! Except for the middle part, that ew, yuck. But the rest was good! So much different than noodles!"
no subject
"The cores have got little black seeds in 'em. We take them out so we can plant more apple trees."
no subject
"You can make more?! Just by planting those icky things inside them?! That's amazing! How do you do it?"
Maybe someone could find a way to make money trees! That would be glorious!
no subject
The basics of gardening, Mashu. You'll have to be introduced to Hydroponics sometime.
"Want to come see some?
no subject
"I'd love to see!!! I didn't know all of that!!! It sounds amazing!"
no subject
Applejack grinned, tipping her hat. "So I'll see you there sometime, yeah?"
no subject
And then Mashu was off to her little flight over the new and old crew to see what else she could explore.
