Meet and Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicomms and comm rings. They are also told they must read information about their current situation and a survival guide with their new omnicomm. New crewmates might see a tall dragonish guy with wings (but don't call him that), a large afro attached to a smaller girl, and talking ponies among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in. But thankfully this time, there's a system that was set up to aid the new crew members with a few more experienced ones.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies. Big brother/sister, there will be a thread for you as well!]

Mashu smiled wide and nodded, "Gold, gems, paper, any type of currency ran through the Financial Districts. Resources pretty much are what it's made up of!" And how it has control over the economy fluxes on Earth.

"And what is it you do?" She probed while thinking fondly of all those unclaimed riches.

"Me? I'm an Asset. I fight in Deals over in the Financial district," she said with a proud smile.

"What about you?"

"Oh me? I'm more of an acrobat." It was best not to reveal her career as a thief to someone who's life was so tied into money.

"What do you mean, fight in deals? Like negotiation?"

Mashu nodded a bit more animate than needed, "Yup! Entre's had to fight in deals while being part of the Financial District. It was the chance to gain, or go bankrupt."

"Interesting~" Jinx mused with a smile. What a charming concept. "And how successful are you at making those deals? I imagine you're pretty talented."

Mashu grinned confidently and pointed at herself. "I only lost one Deal and it was because Kimimaro was hesitating too much and stuff! He was still learning I guess!"

That and he was so stupid! Sheesh!

"Well you'll be useful in a fight then, but most deals around here aren't handled through violence and skill I'm afraid." She waved a finger. "Usually they're handled through talk and trade. We don't even have real currency on the ship."

"What? But that sounds... I guess boring?" she replied with a sigh before latter question...

"WHAT?! No currency?! There has to be currency, most if not all civilizations have currency in one way or another. Most basic form would be trade! There has to be trade here... right?"

"Only for those who insist on it." Jinx explained "The Tavern, most of the established shops give things away and just hope you'll be kind enough to donate. When we stop off on planets Stacy gives us some of the local currency to get supplies, but on the ship? Well I wouldn't exactly call it civilized." After all half if not more of the things in her apartment were stolen from shipmates.

"Oh, well, if Stacy assigns the currency then that's alright." She got worried for a second there. What is this talk about not having money?!

"Sounds like there might be lots to explore in this ship, person, creature, thing."

"Oh yes, we haven't even found the farthest reaches yet. There's still plenty of areas that are still closed off. We're finding more every day." Jinx personally didn't like to stray too far from her safe house but on occasion she got curious.

"I wonder what else is there..." she said in a curious manner as she hovered around the area idly.

"Maybe there's some secret treasure room with lots and lots and lots of gold!"

"A girl can dream can't she?" And Jinx had dreamed about exactly such a place more then a few times, greedy girl that she was. "And with alot of it it's first come first serve." she added with a mischievous wink.

"One could easily build an empire conglomerate type place here! Trasure hunting and then opening up shop! It'd be a great business!" Mashu said with a smile.

Sure there was a lot more to an actual corporation, but seeing as the situation wasn't your most logical...

Jinx chuckled with glee at the thought. "It sounds so fun when you say it like that. But I can't help but wonder if the practice would be as easy as that?"

"Oh well, there's be a lot of work that's for sure! But nothing ventured, nothing gained right?!"

It was one of Mikunu's phrases, one he often spoke when talking about sacrifices to be made and how things needed to be settled in the Financial District.

That amused the greedy pink haired girl on a number of levels.

"I think you're going to get along just fine with an attitude like that." She winked.

"Aw thanks! I hope I do well! This is much different than the financial district but it seems like a really interesting place!"

"You'll find your place." The pink haired girl promised pleasantly "Someone like you is probably just what this ship needed."

"Really? You think so?" she asked curiously, floating closer to the bubblegum haired girl. It still looked so neat! She almost wanted to reach out and touch it.

[badluckbabe]

"Oh sure, it takes all sorts. At least you're interesting." She chuckled.

"I'll be keeping an eye on you."

Mashu looked up curiously as she tapped her chin, "Keeping an eye on me... That's a good thing right?!" she asked once she had thought on it.

"Well yeah sure, since I like you. If someone who didn't like you was though it'd be something to worry about."

[yourbelovedfuture]

"hmmmmm, I guess you're right! Then again, back in the Financial District it was usually always business. You did get the occasional grudge though!"
