Meet and Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicomms and comm rings. They are also told they must read information about their current situation and a survival guide with their new omnicomm. New crewmates might see a tall dragonish guy with wings (but don't call him that), a large afro attached to a smaller girl, and talking ponies among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in. But thankfully this time, there's a system that was set up to aid the new crew members with a few more experienced ones.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies. Big brother/sister, there will be a thread for you as well!]

"They're...well, I reckon they're in the pods, where you were. Where I was. If they were saved, that is."

They had to be. They just had to be. And that desperate hope led her on to the informing part.

"Listen...we're on a big ol' ship in space. We're up here 'cause we were rescued from Equestria. It's gone. Some really nasty ol' creatures destroyed it, all of it. And they took most of the ponies."

Big Macintosh had to let that news sink in for a bit. The knowledge that his home was gone, everything he ever knew and loved was gone or maybe stuck in alien pods with no way to get them out... The knowledge weighed heavy on his mind. His head drooped, and he scowled. This was not the best news to wake up to.

He took a deep breath, and then did the only thing he could think of doing. He threw his hooves around Applejack and hugged her again. "...Least... we've still got each other."

"That's right," she agreed, nuzzling into her big brother's neck. "And we've got Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash too. These human folk ain't so bad either," she explained.

"Until we can win, I've got a couple of fruit trees that could use some Apple family care. There are apples, o'course, and a few more."

He smiled and gave her a nod. "Eeeyup." He was eager to help out and do what he could. And farming was definitely something he could do very well.

"How've you been?" he asked.

"I've been keeping on as best I can," Applejack sighed, looking out at their surroundings. "These folk ain't so bad. I've been growing fruit fast as I can---they really like the apple pie."

She smiled. "Just wish we had the means to give it more often. It's a real shame this here ship didn't come with an orchard already. I just focus on growing what we've got---keeps you too busy to do much thinking."

Just the way she liked it.

Big Macintosh nodded. Sounded like one pony and so many apple trees just didn't add up she could use some help. His kind of help.

"Now I'm here," he reminded her. "Between us I'm sure we can get plenty more apples out."
appletastic: (Yeah!)

"You can bet your bottom barrels we will," Applejack agreed, sparing a smile for him. The days when she'd tried to go it alone were long over.

"Say...when we've got enough, you think some Apple family cider might hit the spot?"
eeeyup: (The tickets are now cupcakes.)

Big Macintosh grinned. Now she was speaking his language.

"Eeeyup." He was game. He was so game for this like you wouldn't believe.
