Meet and Greet
The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers.
Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicomms and comm rings. They are also told they must read information about their current situation and a survival guide with their new omnicomm. New crewmates might see a tall dragonish guy with wings (but don't call him that), a large afro attached to a smaller girl, and talking ponies among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.
There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in. But thankfully this time, there's a system that was set up to aid the new crew members with a few more experienced ones.
[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies. Big brother/sister, there will be a thread for you as well!]

pffffft
The fighting spirit in her dims a bit. This will be more trying than she thought.
"Alright." She sets her face back into an expression of resolve, then thrusts the omnicomm at Morgan. "So what in the Charter is this?"
no subject
"That device is called an omnicomm. Basically, it does two things -- it's like a library stored in one device, and it's a way to communicate with people, like mail or messenger but much faster and without needing things like paper or someone to carry a message."
no subject
"This sort of device could not possibly exist. It has no hint of magic on it, as far as I can tell. What's its real purpose?"
She thinks you're trolling her, Morgan. She does not approve.

Sabriel still is giving Morgan massive unsure face.

"The first thing you should do, before anything, is read the introduction they've prepared for newly-awoken people," he said, demonstrating how to do that with slow, patient gestures so she could follow more easily.
no subject
"Alright. These seem simple enough instructions. And then...I hate to ask this, but what should I do next?"
no subject
"We're not in any immediate danger now, so you have time to adjust to... everything. What I'd advise is meeting people and getting accustomed to this ship now. You're stuck with us till we win this fight, so best if you can make some friends," he said with a smile.

"By the way you were talking about magic, I'm guessing you know a thing or two about it?"

Still, there was no denying that he needed a moment's pause. If she was anything close to a Euthanatos, well, his respect for her had just gone up a great deal. "There are a dozen if not a hundred different types of magic on this ship. Mine's done through martial arts."
no subject
"Music for my own capabilities. I'm terrible at the whistling marks, though." She gives a self-deprecating smile, but it's barely hiding her wonder and excitement at hearing that there are hundreds of different kinds of magic. It's overwhelming, really. She always only knew Charter and Free Magic, believing they were the only kinds. "Yours must be quite visually impressive."
no subject
"I will say I'm not sure how much you'll specifically find to do here," he continued more seriously. "We don't have much in the way of restless ghosts, or, luckily, many deaths at all."
no subject
"I can tell that that hasn't been the case in the past. I can sense that many people died here, on this ship. Some of their spirits might still need to be laid to rest, or at least identified and consoled. And other than that...well, I was a student before I came here. It seems my learning has just begun."
no subject
"I defer to your expertise. You're right about the past, and if you can find anything that needs to be done I'm certain you'll have the support necessary to do something about it."
