The Day. The Drama. The...love, we hope.
Who: Ronnae, Billy, and various wedding guests!
Where: In Light's Hope Chapel, with party to follow at the Drunken Dragon Tavern.
What: Two are getting married. Will someone faint from shock? Will anything break? Will it be a happy night? Stay tuned!
After preparation, anticipation, and vivid memories of nights they won't soon forget, Ronnae and Billy are finally ready for a little ceremony.'Little' was what they had in mind, but there was a chance it could end up being a relative term.
The location was the Light's Hope Chapel in the City, a tiny little place with enough memorial statues and open space to give a majestic, hopeful atmosphere. There were no singing birds or bright skies, just a little shelter from the world in which to have a dedication as lifemates. That would be more than enough for them.
What were the right words to say? The ins and outs of dancing? The foods on the table? Theyd' find out soon enough, creating a day to remember. Whether that remembrance was fairy-tale sweet or a simple overcoming of the odds would remain to be seen.

This time, he hoped he could teach Nokosi something interesting. He smiled at the answers he received, ready to show just how they were related.
"Then come watch. There's an Earth wedding tradition that I think you'll find interesting."
He beckoned for his friend to follow, where he joined Ronnae and a scattered few guests near the cake. It looked like they were getting hungry---a perfect time to cut it! If he waited any longer, he'd lose the chance. Stepping forward, he picked up the little knife and offered it to his mate.
"Er---hey, Ronnie," he blushed. "I can't believe I almost forgot this! We're supposed to cut the cake together, did I tell you?"
He conveniently forgot to mention the other part.

She got close to the table and looked back at him, "So, what do we have to do love?" she asked curiously.

He smiled happily at Ronnae, moving their hands toward making two neat slices to start. Oh, what fun he would have! The cake looked delicious. He was sure she would love it...if not the method.
no subject
"Like this?" she asked as they cut the cake together slowly, Ronnae wanting to make sure everything went good and in order.

There was always a towering, perfect cake at the few weddings he'd attended. He'd have to ask about it later.

Once they had two slices, Billy picked up a small one. It was fairly neat---simple white frosting, marble cake. Grinning, he lifted it close to Ronnae's mouth expectantly.
"To a happy future shared." Hopefully she'd get the idea without too much explaining.

"Oh, ah, y-yeah." she said sheepishly as she opened her mouth to take a small bite of the cake. So many people around! Ah!
no subject
"How is it? Good?"

Please, Ronnie, please don't guess about the tradition of smashing cake more violently, he thought. He didn't need icing up his nose.

Taking his friend's hint, Nokosi turned, sliced a piece of cake, and held it up to Billy's mouth, an expectant look on his face.
"I think what most Humans say at this point is 'aaah', or 'open wide for the tram!' But to be fair, I have only heard the latter spoken to children."
no subject
Oh how she wished she had a camera, but she will definitely draw this later in her sketchbook when she has a chance to do so!

He opened and closed his mouth a few times before settling. "...well, I am hungry and Ronnie's indisposed."
Just this once, Nokosi. Just for you. He opened his mouth obediently.

Nokosi pushed the cake forward, making sure his long fingers were out of reach anywhere where Billy might have been able to bite.
"Yum! I bet Ronnae is right about how good it tastes."

Something about the scene also made her cheeks turn red and her mind went places she wouldn't be talking about anytime soon. All that came out of her lips was a small whisper she didn't even know she spoke, "So c-cute"
no subject
He finally swallowed and nodded, trying not to blush too much. "Yeah, it is. You should try some!"
Well, if they were going to get some amusement out of this miscommunication, maybe they should pass it around. He winked, looking between his two friends. Come on...
no subject
Oh well. These things eventually worked their way forward.
Without another thought he shoved the rest of the half-piece of cake in his mouth and licked his fingers clean of the frosting. "What's cute?"
no subject
"I'm j-jus' gonna take these around to the g-guests okay?! Okay!" And off she tried to go before her face exploded from the warmth.
no subject
He shook his head. "It's okay! Everyone's more emotionally observant than usual today, it's to be expected."
no subject
"That's as much cake as you want to eat?" he questioned, then reached out to grab the edge of her plate.

no subject
"I was going to suggest that you feed him, but it's too late for that isn't it."
They were doing the tradition entirely the wrong way. He didn't care.
no subject
"If not, I will gladly stuff my face alongside you if it makes you feel any better," Nokosi said, then opened his mouth.
no subject
Why are you putting her on the spot like that?
no subject
It's strangely endearing. Ronnae was correct---they both were.
"Choo choo?"
