Deep from the dank, dark bowels of the Media Library... IT CAME! FROM THE CELLULOID!

Five terrible movies guaranteed to give you CHILLS! THRILLS! Or maybe just, I dunno, a vague sense that the universe has wronged you somehow and you want several hours of your life back.

Today, anyone walking into this particular Sensorium would be greeted by the sight of a late 20th century darkened movie theatre, playing a quintuple-feature consisting of old Earth movies that were honestly not very good. At the bottom of the seating area was some dude giving out free popcorn, candy, and drinks.

Howard, Zouichi, Allenby, and Jr. were around, and anyone else was welcome to walk in and join in.

[each of the movies is listed below, just tag in wherever you want. I put a small link in each movie's post so you can have some idea of what the movie is about, although honestly I would say that the movies themselves often do not actually know what they are about. All threads are open unless labeled 'closed'.

"...so you've got a theme? What's a 'yummy'?" Because that sounded kind of silly.

"You should try it sometime. It can be pretty relaxing." He motioned to Cazali. "Well, you could just name this hypothetical kitten for yourself. After all, people complain about my names."

"I'm cats, Ankh is birds, Mezul is sealife, Uva is bugs, and Gamel is..." Pause. Headscratch. "Elephants, gorillas, and...whatever his third one was~" He, totally cared so much.

"We make monsters called yummies when we feed on a human's desire~ They always take the form of the person's wants and the Greeed's form, sooooo I consider it a theme, anyway~?" Shruuug. "'Sides, I like cats."

"Maybe~" Translation- only if he got bored of everything else. "...I, don't know how to name things. I was always 'Cazali', so..."

Zouichi frowned a little. "Sounds dangerous. And I suppose this is functionality you were designed with, as well?" As long as Cazali wasn't making these monsters on-ship, it wasn't a problem, but...

"Does 'Cazali' mean anything in particular?"

"Trust me, I'm not big on making yummies when I know it's going to be...problematic." He held up two fingers; "Scout's honor, 'k~?"

Caz snorted at the probing in to his own name, tapping his head again. "If I remember correctly, it means 'to decorate'. Probably because my yummies encase their human as a parasite. They weren't exactly going to call us Greeed William or Richard, after all~"

Zouichi nodded. Cazali, at least, didn't seem like the kind of person (or Greeed) that would pointlessly endanger his own life. But of course, some things just couldn't be helped.

"Sounds like some pretty strange reasoning anyway." He paused. "How about 'Hanabi'? For your cat."

"Ah, we're all called weird things~ I don't read in to it too far, ya know~?"

A pause, and Caz raised a brow, seeming more intrigued. "Hanabi? What's that mean~?"

Zouichi nodded slowly. "I suppose I can't really say much in that regard. My siblings and I had number-based names."

He glanced back at the screen for a moment before returning his attention to Cazali. "Fireworks. It's written with the kanji for 'fire' and 'flower'." Not that... Cazali would necessarily know what that meant...

Uh.

"...whoa." That was hella lazy. "You ever think of changing it, or just too attached~?"

Fireworks...? "Ah~ Don't tell anyone this, but- I actually like fireworks." And he was being completely sincere. "But, hey~ Sparkly things, they kinda catch my eye~ I might just use that."

Zouichi paused for a moment, then shook his head. "It's not really that bad. And it's the name that my family knew me by. There's no reason to change it." Besides, it was pretty much the only thing left to remind him he'd had others like him, once.

He smiled a little. "I rather like them, too. There were some on that amusement park planet; I'd never gotten to see any before.'

"Family? You're, you know." Ugh, sure he'd made jokes about Ankh being his 'brother', but...that thought was just weird.

"I did a couple times~" Not, counting explosions he'd been involved in. Though, those were cool too. "But, ah, it doesn't work right, ya know?" He tapped his head. "I can only see yellow, blah blah, so some can be a bit boring sometimes~"

Zouichi blinked. "I'm what? The other Synthetic Humans and the AIs I was raised with... I think most people would consider them my 'family'." You should see how alike they look, Cazali.

"You're colorblind?" Wow, that was... unfortunate. Zouichi loved colors.

...which you would not think from looking at his choice of attire.

"I don't consider the Greeed family, I guess. Ah, I dunno~ It's...sans to pester them~? The family sthict was Mezul's." Shrug. "Wait- AI?" And here went a headtilt.

Caz glanced at the movie, pursing his lips. "We can only see our color. They couldn't be bothered to do more than that, I guess~ But it's...hazy, blurry. Senses aren't so good when you don't have all your medals." He snorted, getting comfortable. "Can't feel much, either. Smell's hit or miss and hearing is a bit...tempermental~"

Zouichi hesitated, unsure whether Cazali would care to hear about it. Or if it was even relevant. "Synthetic Humans are designed to work in tandem with an AI," he explained. "We're created in pairs."

"Ah. So 'your' color is yellow...? How curious that they'd customize the color visible to each of you." He paused. "And if you lose all your medals, you lose your senses entirely?"

"Oh, okay~ So it's like a special little friend in the back of your head?" He'd never really come across AI, but they'd always fascinated him really. How had humans done that, but goofed up the Greeed so bad? Silly young race.

"I dunno if they customize it so much as, my medals were made yellow. So~" Shruuug. "Kiiinda. They just get worse and worse, so I can't see very well now, yeah? But even with all my medals, I still can't match up to a human." And a groan. "I have a better sense of smell than the others, and Ankh can see better, so we're all a little different. But not that much."

Zouichi shook his head. "Fuyu isn't a part of me. She's her own being. If you like, you can talk to her when she gets back. Her AI is housed in a motorcycle."

He listened to Cazali's explanation of the medals, frowning a little. "But why did they create you with that kind of a weakness? Especially if your purpose was to fight a war?"

"Shes in the motorcycle?" If he knew how to make lewd jokes... "Maybe someday~ I'm still not sure if me and motorcycles...jive right. Stupid motion sickness."

Actually, that was a damn good question. Cazali dropped his hat on his face, raising his voice a little so he wouldn't be muffled completely. "Because they're retarded? Honestly, I suspect they didn't know what they were doing~ Maybe the alchemists were trying to sabotage the king~? He was trying to conquer the entire world, yadda yadda, cruel monarchy, beheading the innocent. The Pope would have been so sad to lose his pet general, too."

Well, if you ever learned to make lewd jokes, Cazali, you could feel free to crack them. If you wanted an angry Synthetic Human to break your arm, since Fuyu was basically Zouichi's little sister.

"Yes. She doesn't always holoproject, though."

Zouichi didn't really understand all this about kings, Popes, and alchemists. "Perhaps they felt threatened by your existence and set out to find an easy means of controlling you?"

No bones to break, but you're free to knock all of the medals out of him!

Projection too...? Huh. He'd have to ask about this stuff later, since the secondary conversation seemed to...downright depress him.

"Prrrobably~ They didn't want us, we were demonic hellspawn~ They would have gotten out the crucifixes if they saw us take a human shape." And a weighty sigh, followed by an almost pathetic attempt to undercut his genuine nostalgia. "...the crusades were a rough time to grow up, ya know~? They didn't even have the internet."

How were you made out of medals, Cazali.

"I'm guessing the Crusades weren't a picnic for anyone," Zouichi said evenly, "But I'm sorry you had to live through that. I hope things are a little better now."

Its, uh, look over there it's Superman's ghost!

"I dunno, Kingy sure did pretty well. Till the whole, suicide to seal us away part. Still dunno why the hell he did that." Shrug. For some reason, he felt off topic all of a sudden- probably because of the awkward. Might as well breach the subject.

"Why're you sorry? Not to sound...unappreciative, but people don't say sorry to Greeed. We're artificial desire monsters. Apologies and hopes for the better aren't what you're supposed to say at us." Cazali pursed his lips, picking his hat off his head and staring at the brim. "I don't get it."

Zouichi shook his head. "Because he felt responsible for you? Because he felt a need to atone for his own actions? Hard to tell, since I wasn't there."

He didn't really know how to answer Cazali's question, though. "You're not hurting anyone. You haven't been especially rude. I'm not particularly religious, so I'm afraid you don't seem much like demonic hellspawn to me. Although even if you were, it wouldn't really be something you could help. What is there to 'get'?"

Zouichi just had different priorities than humans did.

"Hn. That man had no honor, no good bone in his body. Only greed." Hmph. "We were born from him, so we're no better, but~ Maybe when we find a timeloop or something, I'll go ask him, hm~?"

The entire discussion seemed to be going in weird directions, actually. Caz had never been so uncomfortable in his life- er, existence. "I...don't know." Ugh his head hurt. "I'm...supposed to be killing people, and making yummies, and all that. So I guess I'm the one doing something weird, then."

Free will? What that??????

Zouichi wondered if that was really true. Then again, it wasn't like he was particularly interested in Nialdi's good points. "A timeloop. Well, that would be... one more in a long line of things that shouldn't happen but do."

"...I see. But you're not. And I'm supposed to be saving what's left of humanity on my Earth, but it's been destroyed." So now he was on a meatship, talking to a catboy homunculus.

"Goodie. Now I have something to look forward to~" Timeline nonsense, joooy. Some part of him felt like there was something ironic about this, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

Caz flapped his mouth a few times- starting to talk, then cutting himself off -before making an agitated noise and just curling up in his chair. "Long story sort, everything goes back to normal once we beat those Ohm or whatever. Right." He wasn't about to go 'hey, I'm having a minor crisis over my meaning of existence, help?', that'd be too Ankh-y.

"That's... up for debate. Some people think everyone will be sent back to their original worlds. But if there exists a mechanism by which entire universes can be restored, I don't know of any. You may be out of luck if you want to return."
