There's always work to be done!

At least in Hit girl's mind, that was the way things rolled.

And for Mindy, if you wanted to take the two separately, that idea carried over. Sure, there was plenty of training to do, and god knows she had several sparring partners by now, but maintaining her civilian identity was just as important. As it so happened though, there was just as much stuff for Mindy to do as Hit Girl. Specifically, this house took a LOT of care and cleaning, something that Ruffnut was more than happy to let Mindy spearhead. So inside work had involved mopping, sweeping, dusting, window washing and all the while contending with the ghosts. With Ruffnut doing whatever she was doing at this time, Mindy was more than happy to carry on conversations with the house ghouls and was now, in fact, quite used to them being there. Sure, they were a bit cold with her right now because Hana was a fall out with Ruffnut (for some fucking reason or another) but there was no pranking at her, and likewise she was respectful of them.

They were ghosts, for Christsake. Did you really want to piss them off?

Right now Mindy was hard at work, painting the front of the building after making sure she had piled up some leftover debris from the latest piece of shit falling apart, and was wiping her forehead a moment. She was dressed in a plain short sleeve shirt and work pants, her hair in a ponytail, looking a little tired.

God, she wasn't even done with most of her work today.

Diana's low profile was easily kept in the City, what with it being so big she could go for hours without seeing another person.

She thought it best to familiarize herself with the area. Know the escape routes. She didn't want to end up trapped down some alley when things went up the creek. And if she was setting up here, she'd need to know the best direction to flee in should something attack her in the middle of the night.

So she strolls casually down the streets, killing the day.

Oh, look, a little girl clearing out a creepy hotel that was practically begging for Scooby and the gang to come and investigate.

This should be fun.

The pretty teen walked over. "Someone's working hard."

Diana arched her eyebrow slightly, giving the massive place a quick look over from the outside. "You have ghosts?"

Like there weren't enough terrors already, now Diana had the idea of ghosts to deal with. Great.

She put on a smile. "That's me. A novice."

"Well that sounds pretty annoying." She sighed sympathetically, resting her hands on her hips. "Can't you get rid of them?" She'd seen Harry Potter and Spiderman hanging around, surely there was a Ghostbuster or two?

"In all things Stacy." Diana replied with just a hint of playfulness.

"Lucky you. I'm not sure I'd be sticking around, helper or not. I'm not too fond of the idea of 'rolling with the punches'." She gestured to herself. "Not the sort to go looking for some rough and tumble, I'm afraid."

Surviving and living through it though, that she could do, but no need to give that away.

Diana winks. "You're on top form with the guesses."

"Fun, fun, fun. I can barely contain myself at the thought of it all."

Diana stepped closer, pretty dark eyes fixed on Mindy as she looked her over. "You're a smart one, aren't you? I can tell."

"How long since Crazy Stacy woke you up?"

"I'm sure I'll find something to do." Her smile was sly and suggestive.

"What makes you think I have a story?" She pulled a look of interest, her eyes twinkling with something hidden. "Is that a requirement you have to meet to been beamed onto the ship?"

[identity profile] keep-suriving.livejournal.com 2011-10-23 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
"Really?" Diana leaned forward, tucking some of her long hair behind her ear. "So, does that mean you have a story?"

[identity profile] keep-suriving.livejournal.com 2011-10-23 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"So, you know how to look after yourself." Diana smirked and leaned against the door frame of the castle. "That's good." It was necessary where Diana came from. You needed to learn how to look after yourself quickly, or die.

Adapt and survive. Diana could do that. She could do that better than anyone. Was that why she'd been chosen? Her instead of the powerful Caine or the charitable Sam? Seemed like a stupid choice but hey, it was working out okay for her.

"Well, if that's the goal I guess I can manage that."

*literally lols*

Diana shrugs non-committedly. "I'm sorry to say that I don't really have any fighting skills."

[identity profile] keep-suriving.livejournal.com 2011-10-23 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"Straight to the point, aren't you? Let's just say I come from a sort of fallout zone." She winked. "So I'm pretty used to the whole 'surviving' thing." Diana didn't see the need to divulge anymore than that.

One hundred percent. She would survive. Diana Ladris always survived.

No matter what, she would continue on. But that isn't how she replied. "Oh, I'm gonna stay pretty optimistic and say I think I'll be okay."

[identity profile] keep-suriving.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm sure I'll think of something, I can be pretty resourceful."

Diana extended her hand. "Do I get to know your name?"
