There's always work to be done!
At least in Hit girl's mind, that was the way things rolled.
And for Mindy, if you wanted to take the two separately, that idea carried over. Sure, there was plenty of training to do, and god knows she had several sparring partners by now, but maintaining her civilian identity was just as important. As it so happened though, there was just as much stuff for Mindy to do as Hit Girl. Specifically, this house took a LOT of care and cleaning, something that Ruffnut was more than happy to let Mindy spearhead. So inside work had involved mopping, sweeping, dusting, window washing and all the while contending with the ghosts. With Ruffnut doing whatever she was doing at this time, Mindy was more than happy to carry on conversations with the house ghouls and was now, in fact, quite used to them being there. Sure, they were a bit cold with her right now because Hana was a fall out with Ruffnut (for some fucking reason or another) but there was no pranking at her, and likewise she was respectful of them.
They were ghosts, for Christsake. Did you really want to piss them off?
Right now Mindy was hard at work, painting the front of the building after making sure she had piled up some leftover debris from the latest piece of shit falling apart, and was wiping her forehead a moment. She was dressed in a plain short sleeve shirt and work pants, her hair in a ponytail, looking a little tired.
God, she wasn't even done with most of her work today.

"Well, since you're so insistent, I guess I'll just have to resign to having a fun time here then." She leaned towards Mindy. "But you'll have to help me settle in. Deal?"
"Hmmm?" Diana fixed her eyes on Mindys. "Is she really?"

Oh, she HAD to trail off when she thought of Red Mist, that fucking cowardly little shit. If HE ever showed up on the ship. she wouldn't let him see her as Hit Girl, but she would wait until he brought his pansy ass to the city and send him where he belonged. But that was a Hit Girl thought, and Mindy was just poor, scared but perceptive girl.
"Huh? Oh yeah, why the hell not? You seem pretty cool, and there are always fun things to do around here." Man, if she didn't know better she'd think Diana was some kind of maneater...she at least knew how to talk, and she had to admire that in someone else.
"Well, to most people she might seem a little dim or whatever, but she takes life by the reins, you know? She's not afraid of barely anything, and she follows her instincts, and she's got tenacity. Plus, she's a viking, you don't get more hardcore than that. I'm a little biased when it comes to her though, so better you meet her for yourself and decide."

If Caine showed up well... Diana didn't know what she'd do.
"Wonderful." She reached up and tapped Mindys button nose with her fingertip. "I'll hold you to that."
Diana's eyes flashed knowingly and her pretty face held a smug smile. "Oh, I'm sure she's everything you say she is."

Mindy blinked. She wasn't...was she? Nah, no way. She didn't give any indication of that. Mindy figured she must be reading too much into that. That was probably how she talked to people, maybe.
Yet what was with that smile? It was like she was evaluating her or something. She wasn't scared of the girl, but wary, and she could plainly see there was an element of charm there. You didn't see what Mindy saw and disregard things like that.
"All right. Yeah, you'll probably find Ruffnut here later if you want to find her. I live here too obviously, so feel free to drop in anytime. I'm not guaranteeing we'll be there, but we usually are."
