Magic and Mystical: Interviews

Nothing felt quite so good as to have a project on its way. If this one features slightly less graphical and arbitrary annihilation of all sense and reason to the universe so that his will and desires may stand paramount in all creation, it's no less important or relevant for all that.

Aibghalien has set aside a few of what appear to be practice areas for interviews and assessments, hoping these are large enough to use for any demonstrations necessary. If not, the courtyard outside allows plenty of space for particularly pyrotechnical displays.

[OOC: Those willing to help interview may start their own threads for people to comment on (but Abby would like to get your own lists!) If your character would have come, but you aren't able to thread it out for any reason, just put the information in the Handwaved thread for later compilation.]

Wrong username for this but Sirius Black would have signed up.

There was a thumping noise that would announce Simon's arrival in the tower long before him - the sound of Lagann climbing the stairs. Eventually, the little red robot got to the top of the stairs, and the top hatch opened. Simon glanced around curiously before spotting Aibghalien.

"Uh... This the demonstration place?"

As Cedric felt the familiar buzz of magic in the air, he thought that he would have liked a robe. The garment had always made him feel like a proper wizard, and to be practicing magic without one was strange.

He tugged on his jumper and entered a rather large space, searching for an authority figure to speak with. With some luck, he found one. "Hello. Are you placing the magical examinations?"

Strange how she had never come here before, but Sofia figured that perhaps it would be a good idea for her to finally join the magic department it would give her something to do.

She walked up the stairs without much trouble and stood in the middle of the training room silently, after giving him a small bow, waiting for his instructions.

It was imperative he got here before Ankh, or the damned bird would ruin his chances at getting any information out of these mages. Frankly, Cazali would have preferred to simply destroy the place, but this stupid ship operated more on diplomacy than that.

He might have seemed a bit on edge when he first walked in, but it only took him a minute to whistle at the room, eyes settling on the wizard himself. "Well, if this place doesn't bring back my childhood memories~"

This place really did look like something out of a fantasy RPG. Fuu knew she shouldn't think like that, but when confronted with the Tower of High Sorcery she just couldn't help it. But she felt strangely comforted by it. A wizard's tower was something she could get her head around.

"Excuse me, are you Aibghalien-san?" she asked. "I'm sorry if I'm not pronouncing that correctly."

Aqua

[identity profile] rainfell-aqua.livejournal.com 2011-10-21 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
Aqua immediately felt a dark presence all over the Tower--like a memory of something awful. It wasn't bad enough that she thought she'd have to wear her armor, but it was a creepy feeling--like a chill down her spine.

Pushing the sensation down, she stepped inside. "Hello? Aibghalien?"

[identity profile] stormfall-aqua.livejournal.com 2011-10-22 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
She smiled as she saw the lights and walked in.

"I guess that would be your demonstration. Or part of it, at least."

Negi - Doing Interviews

[identity profile] hisfathersstaff.livejournal.com 2011-10-21 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
Well this was going to suck. No one was going to spill to a kid. There's a reason why he keeps his professional life separate from his kid form. But noooooo. Darnit Abby.

So there's a slightly sullen Negi sitting there in a big chair, with a clipboard. "Next?"

As Clef looked around at the various people conducting interviews, his eyes fell on the boy with the red hair and spectacles. He probably was really a child, Clef thought. Most adults, even on Cephiro, don't choose that kind of form. It was very difficult to be taken seriously - no one asks your age, when you look like that, they just assume. You have to make a scene and throw your real age around like there's some kind of who's-the-oldest contest in order to get people to stop talking down to you.

His appearance hadn't caused Clef too many problems on the ship yet. Perhaps people here paid more attention to how one carried oneself than how one looked, or perhaps he had just been running into particularly tolerant people. Either way, he didn't want to push his luck. Besides, he was glad to see a child among the interviewers. It said a lot about the boy's skill and his nerve that he was even here, even if he didn't look too happy about it.

"I guess that's me," he said as he stepped up to Negi, smiling to try and counter the other's sullen expression a little.

He wasn't really sure what this interview process was going to entail; Abby had mentioned something somewhere about a demonstration, so Clef had his staff ready but it occurred to him that he hadn't actually practiced any kind of magic since he had awoken from his pod. He was sure that his abilities wouldn't have atrophied in a few weeks' time, but who knows how long he was asleep before that? And then there was all that wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey interdimensional stuff in between. It suddenly occurred to Clef that he should have made sure that he could actually do magic before coming here, or else this would be a very short and humiliating interview.

Oh, well. Too late now.

[identity profile] hisfathersstaff.livejournal.com 2011-10-21 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
Wiping the sullen expression on his face, Negi forced a smile as he coughed for a moment, and stood up politely to offer a hand that he hadn't coughed in as a handshake. "Negi Springfield, nice to meet you."

He felt old. Like Evangeline Old and powerful too. Negi had a keen sense of runaway train level powers and he was pinging his meter like crazy. Still, to be that young made him feel a whole lot better. "Have a seat sir. We'll start the interview shortly."

"As you know we're trying to gather information so that no one's left out in the dark if we have a magically-based problem on our hands. A general idea of what you can and can't do on the extreme sides would be a nice starting point."

Aerith was getting pretty good at finding her way around. Naturally, the omnicomm helped a lot, but she didn't mind a little exploring. Especially in such a new place (to her anyway).

Looking down at the device, she verified that she was in the correct spot. Tilting her head back, she squinted as she studied what was in front of her. Aerith couldn't say she'd run into buildings like this before, and she straightened her shoulders, making her way in.

It isn't too long before she was able to find the area that interviews were being held in. A little unsure, she walked up the young boy who seemed to be interviewing people.

"Yes, I'm Aerith." She smiled at him, wondering what this interview would be like.

[identity profile] hisfathersstaff.livejournal.com 2011-10-22 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah hello. I'm Negi Springfield," said Negi, standing up and offering her a handshake. "I'm one of the mages aboard the ship and all."

She had a very serene look to her. It was kind of nice to see someone who was so calm and pleasant looking. "Please have a seat. Before we begin is there anything you'd like to ask me?"

Sabrina

[personal profile] crazypsychic 2011-10-22 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
While it wasn't her first time to the tower, it was her first time meeting one of the heads of the Magical/Mystical Department if one did not count the time meeting Nanoha once. Sabrina felt a deep regret for not revealing this sooner, but she did feel... anxious, if one could say that about her own psychic gifts. She fortunately had Haunter controlled this time, so so likelihood of being paralyzed by a Lick attack was slim.

"Aibghalien?"

[personal profile] crazypsychic 2011-10-23 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, well it's not like Sabrina really knows the difference in the details.

"Greetings, I'm Sabrina. We have talked once on the omnicomms, but I believe you and others should know more of my particular abilities."
