Magic and Mystical: Interviews

Nothing felt quite so good as to have a project on its way. If this one features slightly less graphical and arbitrary annihilation of all sense and reason to the universe so that his will and desires may stand paramount in all creation, it's no less important or relevant for all that.

Aibghalien has set aside a few of what appear to be practice areas for interviews and assessments, hoping these are large enough to use for any demonstrations necessary. If not, the courtyard outside allows plenty of space for particularly pyrotechnical displays.

[OOC: Those willing to help interview may start their own threads for people to comment on (but Abby would like to get your own lists!) If your character would have come, but you aren't able to thread it out for any reason, just put the information in the Handwaved thread for later compilation.]

"It's nice to meet you, Negi." She shook his hand, then took a seat and clasped her hands in her lap for lack of anything better to do with them.

Aerith tilted her head to the side for a moment, looking thoughtful. "I can't think of anything off the top of my head. Mostly because I have a lot of questions." She shook her head, smiling. "I'm sure they'll get answered in time, so there's nothing pressing."

"That's true. And there's plenty of time for that for later." said Negi, picking up his pencil. "So onto business then. What we're doing basically is getting a feel for the magical abilities of the people on the ship. A general overview is nice, and something that distinguishes your own power from the others. In case there's a case we can compile ideas for a spell or such."

"My abilities..." Aerith tapped a finger on her chin as she gathered her thoughts. A most of her offensive magic was due to materia, which she didn't have on her.

But her healing...she smiled at him as she spoke. "Well, I have some experience in healing. I've been involved in several battles, and I've healed cuts, injuries. That type of thing." She lifts her shoulders in a small shrug.

"That's good. We're short in healing mages anyhow, and our staff in the medical ward is always in need of help," said Negi, jotting it down. "Are you able to teach it to anyone else or is it something done naturally?"

"It's an ability that comes naturally. I inherited it." She thought on this for a moment - it'd been a long time since she'd thought about her abilities, and where they came from.

The Lifestream certainly helped her before with anything related to her abilities, but she knew she could still heal. Aerith would probably have to work on it a bit so she could build up some kind of stamina, keeping herself from burning out. "It may not be as strong here as it was back on my home, but if I'm able to help then I will."

"That's great then," said Negi, smiling a little. "I'm glad that you're willing to help out."

"How are you finding it on the ship so far?" inquired Negi, going through the list of interview questions.

Aerith clasped her hands loosely in her lap as she spoke. "It's different than what I'm used to. There's a lot to take in." Which was understatement of the century, but she was aware that she wasn't alone in her confusion. This tended to make her feel a little bit better - better to be confused with a group than to be alone.

"I can't get used to the idea of being in space! I've never even flown in an airship before," she said with a little laugh. "How long have you been here?"

"I've lost count. The day cycle here isn't very accurate due to being in the space between dimensions. It could have been a year, maybe half. Who knows. All I know is that we've been on this ship a long time," admitted Negi, shaking his head.

"Oh that reminds me, I think one of the questions here is "How do you respond to magic being done on you" which I figure is healing or like any other spell."

The question was an odd one to her, and she gave Negi a puzzled look before answering.

"Respond....well I can be healed, if that's what you mean. I can somewhat heal myself, but it seems easier to heal others. I can be hurt by any kind of attacks." She gave him a slight smile. "Is that what you mean?"

"Yeah like that I mean," replied Negi, shaking his head. "This questionnaire is kind of weirdly worded at times. Some people have a natural immunity to magic, some don't so it's always a good idea to find out."

"Oh I definitely don't have an immunity," she laughed, shaking her head. "If someone is immune, can they be healed by magic?"

"That's good to hear. A natural immunity to magic is rare, like Asuna, but there's always something to check on." Negi grinned. "That should complete most of the questionnaire at least."

That wasn't as bad as she expected, and she relaxed a little bit. "There's nothing else you'd need from me?" Aerith asked - she wanted to make sure he had everything he needed before she left.

"No that should be good," said Negi. "Thanks for helping out with the information."

Aerith stands up, reaching back to tighten the bow in her hair before smiling at the young man. "I'll be going then. It was nice to meet you, Negi!"
