Meat n' Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. They are also told they must read information about their current situation and a survival guide with their new omnicom. New crew-mates might see a tall dragonish guy with wings (but don't call him that) and purple girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

Ankh kept eyeing Seraphiel suspiciously even when it returned to Hoshi and especially when it was cawing. That thing was kind of...weird.

Hoshi's concession garnered a glance of suspicion from the Greeed. This girl was oddly cheerful and oddly agreeable for someone who seemed to be advocating for the ship.

"...Tch. What the hell does that have to do with anything?" He asked at the topic change, tucking the medal case into his jacket almost protectively.

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-10-01 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
By now, Hoshi had decided that if people wanted to help out on the ship, they would. If they didn't, then, well - she just hoped that they'd come around eventually on their own terms. There was no need to aggravate matters, especially with a first meeting.

"Well, I kinda figure that being in that pod after so long that you would want at least something to eat. It's better than eating the slop that's here, at any rate."

She noticed him tucking the medal case away, tilting her head a little. Well, whatever that was had to be important to him. Still, she was curious as to what purpose it served to him.

[identity profile] handpuppeeet.livejournal.com 2011-10-01 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
'So long'? It couldn't have been that long since had dealt with Maki, had it? Perhaps because of the way those pod things worked there was some sort of time lapse, but that just begged the question of how long exactly it had been.

Regardless, he kept those thoughts to himself for now. It was easy to notice Hoshi watching the medal case, and Ankh took a step back and glared at her for it. "Hmph. I don't need some damn handouts from an annoyance like you."

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-10-01 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
... Okay, that was a bad idea to do. Still, she remained as calm and composed as possible. It looked like it was time to go to plan B.

"Wait right here, okay?" she said before slinking into the crowd to the welcoming committee's table. She grabbed a couple of things she thought Ankh liked before returning in a matter of minutes.

"I didn't know what you liked, so I grabbed a few things!" She had a plate full of cookies in one hand, a drink in another and there were a couple of ice pops with it, too.

[identity profile] handpuppeeet.livejournal.com 2011-10-01 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Ankh certainly had had no intention of waiting. This girl was horribly suspicious and way too damn friendly for comfort, and had every intention of disappearing into the crowd while she was gone. Unfortunately that plan didn't entirely pan out, and he was looking at her again with confusion when she returned with the food.

He just looked back and forth between her and the food for a moment or so, but eventually he scoffed, rolled his eyes, and ungracefully snatched one of the ice pops, taking a bite off the top.

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-10-01 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
So, he liked ice cream! That was a good thing! Maybe she was getting somewhere with Ankh.

"You can have all of the ice pops, if you want." There really was little harm in offering it to him, right?

[identity profile] handpuppeeet.livejournal.com 2011-10-01 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
He almost did grab them; popsicles were popsicles after all. But Ankh only raised his free hand a bit before he stopped, narrowing his eyes at Hoshi once more.

"Hey, why the hell are you being so friendly..?!" It was less him asking, and more him demanding an answer. Because seriously, what was her deal.

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-10-01 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"... Uh. Is there a problem with me being so friendly?" Because, as far as she knew, people liked that. Except Howard for some reason, but she was getting there! Optimism won over anything and everything!

... Okay, maybe it didn't.

But, it was how she grew up, and even though she had her accident, she was still trusting of people and their motives for the most part.

"I'm... sorry if it bothers you...?" Even the words sounded a bit unusual to her, but still - it was a part of who she was, no matter what.

[identity profile] handpuppeeet.livejournal.com 2011-10-01 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's annoying," Ankh snapped, looking down at her and taking another angry bite off the ice pop. Seriously, she was more friendly and happy than Eiji was, and that was saying something. And it certainly wasn't what he wanted to deal with after getting nauseous back at the cavern.

He didn't seem to care much about her apology though, simply huffing and looking away as if something else had caught his interest while he ate the popsicle.

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-10-01 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"I've gotten that before," Hoshi commented, laughing a bit. Mostly her laughter was to hopefully defuse some of the tension, but it was also her trying to not be so nervous.

"... But, I am still gonna be me," she muttered a bit, still managing to smile. No matter what people thought of her, too.

[identity profile] handpuppeeet.livejournal.com 2011-10-01 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"Spare me your life's story," Ankh scoffed, not even looking at Hoshi anymore. Whether it was from disinterest or just more interest in the surrounding crowd was iffy, but then it might've been a mix of both.

"You can do whatever you want as long as you leave me out of it. I don't care for hanging around with annoying little girls and their freakish pet birds."

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-10-04 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"I wasn't gonna tell you it. I'll do it only if you ask," Hoshi said with a little shrug. To be honest, she was unfortunately used to people giving her the cold shoulder after so long of helping people out. But, every time she experienced the cold shoulder from people - it still hurt to her, dammit.

That, and being called a "little girl" wasn't exactly a kind thing to do. She gripped her hands into fists tightly, her nails digging into the fabric of her fingerless gloves. Right, she had to be kind here. Kindness eventually won people over, didn't it? After all, Petra was rude to her before she joined her team, so maybe she could do the same to Ankh.

She forced a smile on her face and sighed. Later, she could get the frustration out by training it away or something. Now wasn't the time.

"Well, can't blame a girl for trying, you know? I'm kinda stubborn like that." Kinda was a gross understatement, though. She always was stubborn about things.

[identity profile] handpuppeeet.livejournal.com 2011-10-04 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Ankh had made short work of that ice pop, because he had bitten the last bit of the treat off and tossed the stick that was left behind off to the side. Littering, who gave a damn about that?

He glanced back at Hoshi and it was easy to tell she was either getting annoyed, angry, or something of the like. It caused him to smirk and give a half chuckle for a second before his face was back to neutrality. "'Stubborn'? Sounds more to me like you're just getting on people's nerves like you're getting on mine."

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-10-04 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Hoshi noticed him casually throw the stick to the side, keeping her facial expression as neutral as possible. Just letting someone know that they were getting under your skin was a bad thing, right ?

"I'm sorry," she said, because really - what else was she supposed to say other than that?

[identity profile] handpuppeeet.livejournal.com 2011-10-04 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Geez, this girl sure apologized a lot.

"If you're so sorry, why are you still hanging around here?" Ankh asked, his voice sounding a bit aggravated. He couldn't use this girl for anything useful, except maybe getting ice cream, but that wasn't exactly worth it in the long run.

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-10-04 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, she guessed now was as good of a time as any.

"I'm trying to find my teammates as well as more Kamen Riders," she answered, a smile coming forth. She could hold in her hurt a bit longer.

[identity profile] handpuppeeet.livejournal.com 2011-10-04 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Ankh didn't care about whoever her 'teammates' were, but the second part-- "Kamen Riders?"

He was interested admittedly, though his eyes narrowed suspiciously. Was this girl a Kamen Rider? That was ridiculous; Hina had more makings of a Kamen Rider than this girl did. And if she just worked with one, well, even Shingo probably made a better assistant. "What do you know about Kamen Riders?"

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-10-04 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"Everything Philip, the mind of Double, has told me thus far. I know all of the Riders from the first one all the way to OOO," Hoshi answered. After all, Philip had said that it was a good idea to read up about all the Riders she could to know their background and so she did.

"And I'm also one myself. I'm Kamen Rider Nazca."

[identity profile] handpuppeeet.livejournal.com 2011-10-04 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
There was a slight twitch to Ankh's face when Hoshi mentioned 'OOO,' though it was a blink-and-you'll-miss-it event. "You work with Double, huh," Which was more him thinking out loud (and he sounded pretty distracted) than asking a question as he looked away. He hadn't remembered seeing anybody like her when they were in Fuuto, but, whatever.

"Nazca? Never heard of it." He added, glancing back at Hoshi only to scoff and look away as he spoke.

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-10-04 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Hoshi noticed Ankh's mannerisms slightly change. Could it be that he was more interested in talking about Rider stuff than what she was talking about beforehand?

Well, why didn't she think of that before? Doh!

"I can show you Nazca right now if you want to take a look." Because, as far as she was concerned, to not tell people of the capabilities she had was detrimental to what she could actually do.

[identity profile] handpuppeeet.livejournal.com 2011-10-04 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Ankh was silent for a moment at the offer. On the one hand, he couldn't say he really cared about Nazca. He only cared about Double because it was a name he recognized. But if she was offering (no matter how weird it was to offer), he might as well; it'd give him a good idea of what she could do at least.

So with a sigh, he turned back to look at her with disdain. "Fine. Let's see it."

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-10-04 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"All right."

Hoshi took a few steps back and took out her Nazca Driver, it wrapping around her waist when she placed it around there. Then, she went into her vest and pulled out the T2 Nazca Memory, clicking it.

"HENSHIN!"

When she inserted the Memory into her Driver, she stood ready as the familiar music (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pL4HTWZJfV4) played as flames and light licked at her, forming her blue armor in the process. After it was done, she stood there with a smile under her helmet.

"What'cha think?"

[identity profile] handpuppeeet.livejournal.com 2011-10-05 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
Ankh watched with nonchalance as Hoshi transformed. It was certainly different, to say the least; and she transformed like Double did. He'd have to wait to see her fight to see if she could be useful or not, but apparently there were other Riders around here anyway.

"Not bad," he finally said, though it didn't exactly sound the most sincere. "I've seen better. Most Kamen Riders don't go showing off their transformations for no reason."

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-10-05 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
You didn't need to worry about that, Ankh. Hoshi was plenty capable of fighting her own battles, Rider powers or not. But, she did appreciate the compliment and took it like one.

"Well, it's better to know what I'm able to do so that I'm not shafted when it comes down to it, right?" she answered with a little shrug. Then, she got an idea in her head - by now, training against Dopants became second nature to her and the Sensoriums were wonderful things.

"I've got an idea. Want to see what Nazca can do?"

[identity profile] handpuppeeet.livejournal.com 2011-10-05 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
All of the worrying all of the suspicion

And now Ankh just looked damn confused. "Huh? Why would I need to know what you can do?" She seemed pretty damn calm about it. Was she stupid enough to let others in on her abilities, or was this some stupid ship solidarity thing?

He was completely suspicious now, and it was obvious. "And if I do?"
