Meat n' Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. They are also told they must read information about their current situation and a survival guide with their new omnicom. New crew-mates might see a tall dragonish guy with wings (but don't call him that) and purple girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

...well.

That's certainly a big...dragon-y-looking guy. He seemed like he knew what he was doing - and didn't have the crazy plantsuit thing. Simon adjusted his coat a bit, then stepped up.

"...uh. Hi."

Kang was very used to the staring, and the nervousness; he was well aware of how intimidating he looked to some of the other races. He simply held out his hand to shake and said, "I am Councilor Kang. Did you have any questions you needed answered?"

The hand was met with Simon's, and shook firmly. "Simon, leader of Team Dai-Gurren. And I guess the big question is where we go from here, really." He glanced around, then looked back at Kang. "I've been told why we're here, but this is obviously a peaceful event."

"We all know, from personal experience, how confusing it can all be. This is just for answering questions and for finding people from your world," Kang said. "You're lucky in that you're getting more information than some of us older crew members did when we first woke up. As for your question... more often than not, we're not in combat. It can happen at any time, though."
punchedoutdestiny: (Look how damn sexy I am.)

Simon nodded. "I see..." He glanced out at the group of people - he didn't see anyone that stood out as a member of his crew - or anyone he'd seen growing up.

"That's a good thing, then. This is confusing enough as it is - I can only imagine the chaos if it happened during a fight."
governorkang: (Well shit / Disgusting)

"It has before," Kang snorted. He remembered the Nightmare King incident; they were damn lucky they hadn't lost anyone.

"...oh." Well, that was awkward. Simon scratched his head a bit, then decided to shift the topic. "Just who are we up against?"
governorkang: (Council business)

Reaching into a pocket in his kilt, Kang brought out his omnicomm, "You should have gotten one of these already. There are files on the Ohm available, and I can show you how to use it if you don't know how."

Simon paused for a moment, then reached into his coat, pulling his own out. "Yeah - I'd appreciate that, actually. Never been very good with a lot of tech, to be honest." Unless it operated on emotion and fighting spirit. Unfortunately, computers do not.

Kang proceeded to show Simon how to use the omnicomms, using his own as an example. He showed where the files were on the Ohm and the Daligig, the Constitution, and information on the command structure, as well as the map. "It's fairly simple. You can always ask others for help if you're still having trouble with it."
punchedoutdestiny: (Calm)

Simon nodded, following along fairly well - rather thankful that Kang wasn't one to over-use technical lingo like some folks back home. "Alright, I think I can manage enough from here." He gave the draconian a confident look, nodding at him. "Thanks a lot, I appreciate it."
governorkang: (This is fun / Go fish!)

"It's not a problem," Kang said. He was good at explaining technology in simple terms, coming from a world that didn't even have printing presses.
