Being sent off into the unknown was part of the risks that being on the ship had brought them. Thankfully they were getting a chance to stock up before heading out.

But just what was waiting out there?

[[Just so you all know, this is bendy time for around the 12th on the meatship, so those who were hurt during the battle should be much, much better. This is also the only post that will be open to both groups before they split off, and anyone who wishes to see them off can do so. In fact, it's encouraged!]]

"The only problem with that is, there's no economy! What are we going to charge people for? I mean, I'm as generous as the next guy," not, "but for the amont of love and care we're going to put into each of these, we're going to want some compensation. I vote we charge people in sugar."

"Very true (wow, you thought pretty far ahead with this, huh?)!"

She crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow. "What are we going to do with all that extra sugar, though? I mean, it IS useful. We could always turn it into caramel and other sweets and open up a (simple but delicious!) confectioner's shop. Charge an arm and a leg (no pun intended) for taffy. We'd corner both the entertainment mecha/candy market on the ship in one fell swoop!"

They really WERE thinking too hard about it all, but she was glad for the much needed distraction. It served to ease her worries about whatever 'mission' they were going on. If they had to choose partners for their mission, she'd already found the 'cool kid' of the class to stick by.

"And think about how much our productivity will go up when we snack on all that sugar! Hell, if we can trade some of the candy for coffee, and use the mechas for the grunt work, we can work 24/7, no complications." Picturing that puts a pretty big smile on his face. "And will all that extra time, we could take up hobbying, and Stacy wouldn't think we weren't busy enough to put us on missions anymore.

It's helping him stay calm, too. Normally his pre-mission jitters would leave him with slightly shaky hands and some kind of gum to work out his nervous chewing compulsions on, but he's feeling only mild dread now. Maybe he should hang out with this girl more often.

Although he's never been the 'cool kid' at anything.

"How masterful. And to think, all we would need to do is lose one (or more) limbs to make it happen! Though really, I would be lying (sigh, if only I could) if I said that I wouldn't be thrilled to do it all anyways."

At least it would give her something productive to do on the ship. Well, something productive that didn't require her to be around so many people at once.

"Yeah, honestly, I'm totally cool with skipping the missing limb section of our plan. We can scratch that right off our agenda and go straight to mechas, if you're with me."
