Exhaustion!

After fighting in a massive planetary battle -- well, less 'fighting' and more 'healing people, occasionally from literal death' -- the Akashic was, in a word, exhausted.

Not necessarily physically; regardless of how grueling shifts in Medbay might be at the moment, he made a point to stick to his schedule, sleep plenty, eat (ugh) enough gruel, and keep his body in shape. Not necessarily mentally either; good health and self-care, along with meditation and discipline, helped in that matter as well.

There was just a certain level of core, deep, ground-in exhaustion that couldn't be banished that easily, though. So that left only one thing to do for the best relaxation:

Snowboard in the sensorium.

The crew of the Ptolemy had weathered the fight well, even if the same couldn't be said of the rest of the ship. Signs of fighting were everywhere, and it was getting a little depressing. A quick trip to the Sensoriums, to at least imagine being well and drunk for a while wouldn't hurt anything - hell, she'd sober up as soon as she came out again.

Except this one was already occupied, it seemed. Pristine white snow and blazingly blue winter skies. Now that was a sight she hadn't seen in a while.

Add to that one Morgan, shooting down the slope on a custom board as if he were born to it. (Also wearing only a T-shirt and khakis, which couldn't ever be called appropriate attire for this sort of sport.) He turned sharply sideways, the board slashing through the snow and kicking up a sheet of it as he turned.

On that note, he offered a cheerful wave.

Sumeragi blinked, and then returned the wave. The man looked totally unsuited to the landscape around him - but then again, none of this was actually real, so she supposed it didn't matter quite so much.

"Ah, sorry to barge in on you! I didn't realize this one was in use."

The board came to a halt not far away, so he lightly hopped off of it, letting it flip up into his hand when his feet caught it just right on the tip. "Hi there! Don't worry about it. If there was a sign outside that could say 'come on in' I'd have turned it on. Snowboarding's more fun with other people, after all!"

And everyone could use some fun after what all had happened.

Sumeragi laughed a little at that bit of showmanship - but hell, she couldn't really fault him that.

"I have to confess, I've never tried it. And it's been a hell of a long time since my last ski trip." Though... she wasn't adverse to the idea. It'd be a good distraction.

It had been an exhausting battle, catching Satellizer not only off-guard, but unprepared for the length of it as well. She wasn't built for long term combat, she was a heavy assault front liner, meant to destroy the initiative and give way for the rest of the group... This time it had been limited to those on the ship which wasn't much.

Rest was what had brought her to the sensoriums in the first place, but finding herself in an occupied one, she took a moment to take the sights in.

The sight, in this case, was Morgan -- dressed in a T-shirt and dark khakis, courtesy of the sensorium -- freestyling down a wicked mountain on his custom board like someone born to the sport. As he whipped by, he threw a wave in her direction.

He'll be back in a moment.

She gave a light wave back as he passed by, looking at the mountain with a curious expression.

Most of her memories of snow where... unpleasant... But this seemed like it carried a nice feel to it. Something refreshing almost.

And then he just sort of popped back not far from her. Screw ski lifts; when your imagination is the limit in an environment, things should be done bigger and better. So he'd just put a teleporter at the bottom of the hill.

"Hey there! You're looking in decent shape."

She eyed him curiously before giving him a simple nod. "I wasn't in the ground battle, not to say things up here where easy either way however."

Pausing for a moment, Satella gave the place another studying look before turning to him again, "You seem to be well as well."

Rarity walked in, not expecting a white land of snow. She then looked around for any pegasus ponies in the sky who might have been causing this phenomenon. "Rainbow Dash?"

Just the opposite -- rather than a colorful pegasus, there was only a human dressed in black (t-shirt and khakis, not weather-appropriate!). But he was going fast down that slope! Fast enough that he almost didn't notice the purple that prevented Rarity from almost blending into the landscape.

But he did notice! Somehow. So he veered the board sharply to one side, then skidded to a halt not far from her.

"Rarity! Hi!" Morgan was actually happier to see her than he'd have guessed.

She took a step back in surprise. "Morgan! Nice to see you too. Did you make it snow?"

"It's just the sensorium. You can do pretty much anything you want with your mind in here, and this'll replicate it." He gestured broadly to the mountains around them. "This is a place back on Earth I used to visit a lot, in the winter, to go snowboarding."

"Oh yes, silly me. I totally forgot about it. Strange to not see any pegasus ponies making it snow though..." Rarity walked around the soft snow to examine her surroundings.

"Snowboarding? Is that like ice skating?"

Wandering in on an occupied Sensorium seems to be par for the course for Jamie, and he finds himself on what appears to be...well, a lot of snow. Unconsciously, his outfit switches slightly, a windbreaker with a large front pocket appearing over his shirt, and a thicker pair of socks replacing the thinner ones he's wearing - but the kilt and hiking boots he's already wearing remain exactly the same.

"Hello?" he calls, glancing around to see if anyone's there before reaching down to scoop up some of the snow in one hand to see how well it would pack down. "Anyone here?"

A blur slashed down the slope, then cut sharply left as a massive arch of snow shot out where the board sliced into it. "Hey there!" Morgan said as he stepped back off the board with perfect precision, so that the board shot up into his hand as he hit the ground walking.

He was wearing a black T-shirt and khakis. Very much not appropriate attire.

Normally the t-shirt and khakis might at least cause some raised eyebrows, but the outfit's rather overshadowed by what Morgan's actually doing. It's not something Jamie's familiar with at all - and it's definitely gotten his attention.

"What was that ye were doing just now?"

"Snowboarding. Like a mix between skiing and surfing, if you want to call it anything." He patted the board with a grin. "Been doing it for years. It comes from growing up on a mountain surrounded by people who are fanatical about physical fitness and exercise."

He's familiar enough with mountains, but isn't quite sure how sliding around on a board is exercise. It doesn't help that he only vaguely knows what skiing and surfing are to start with. Rather than bring that up, though, he opts to pretend like he understands what the man's on about.

"Oh, aye, I see." He eyes the board for a moment, then adds, "Could ye not just go hiking instead?"

Rachel was kind of tired herself-- from all the morphing in the fight, mostly-- but she was also kind of antsy. She still had a bit of the feelings from battle left in her, and she wanted to keep active. She had been thinking of maybe killing some time and causing some damage in the Sensoriums.

When she walked in though, she saw the snow and the set up for snowboarding. Flashing a half smile as a styling winter coat appeared on her, she said, "Well, I guess that works too."

Morgan noticed the new arrival and, with a grin, sliced his board through the snow to stop not far away. He was wearing just a T-shirt and khakis, completely inappropriate garb. The cold just didn't bother him.

"Hey there! Come to shred the slopes, I hope!"

Rachel rolled her eyes slightly at that, before she gave a half shrug. "Can't say I've ever done it before," she admitted, but then she smiled, just a little bit. "I'm not opposed to start learning though, so why not."

"Conveniently, I'm not opposed to teaching! Funny how these things work out." He hopped off his own board (which he was shamelessly using without bindings), then kicked it up into his hands. Yes, he was showing off his figure just a little. Around a cute girl it was a reflex.

Rachel laughed just slightly at that (she was pretty used to the show boating, honestly, from home), but she nodded anyway. "Who'd have thought?" she replied lightly, "So I guess it works out." She made a show of not being terribly impressed with him, while she called up her own snowboard in the simulation. "So let's see what you've got then."
