Down on the city level, right by the Kohaku River and near the imposing castle, a modern-looking white building welcomed one and all to its promise of running water and warmth. Maybe even a little socializing was in order.

The ramp led up to the heated roof level, where one and all could sit down and relax in an almost sauna-like environment. Below, corridors contained plenty of towels, places to leave clothes, quick showers, and the baths, a number of them sized for any and all comers.

The private areas were accessed through separate corridors on the outside, but the busier communal baths were just as warm and welcoming. Anyone of any size or species was welcome here, so long as they behaved themselves.

[ooc: it's mingling party post time! Just start a thread or hop in one, and note if your character's in a single sex bath, co-ed, or the sauna level upstairs. My characters will be here to meet some people too.]

Billy | Co-ed, wide open!

Just after making his announcement over the comms, Billy had strolled down here to stake out his favorite bath in the facility: the moderately-sized one with the waterfalls pouring into it from several angles. He stripped down and settled in for a good round of thought, reflecting on everything that had happened lately.

Ronnae was worried about something, he'd have to talk to her tonight. If he was honest and open, then maybe that would help her to be as well. Kimberly was here, settling in, and he hoped she was okay. Some of his Rangers were still away on that worrisome mission, the Engineering backlog finally had an end in sight, and he was now settling in for a few side projects.

He hadn't seen too many new engineers among the new crew members, but maybe someone would be inclined? Wherever his thoughts went, he was jostled out of them by a pink menace closing in on his chest. This was unusual.

"...huh. Pink bubbles? I didn't install these," Billy wondered, staring at the bright, bright pink cotton candy pile. It even smelled like cotton candy! If anyone came by, he'd definitely have something to explain. He pushed over to the control panel, attempting to shut it off. The switch felt stuck---great.

How interesting. Philip's going to pop a bubble in curiosity, a towel wrapped around his waist.

A grouchy Billy is leaning half-out of the tub, chest covered in these things. He's grabbed an arm of his glasses, using it to pry the switch---one, two---there, it's finally stopped, but the large pile still looms over the water.

"My apologies," Billy starts, slowly lowering himself back into the water. "We've had a switch malfunction."

"I've never quite seen pink bubbles before, so it's something new every day," replied Philip, sinking into the water. He had rarely used the bathhouse, using the sonic showers instead but this was nice.

"They come in several other colors, but I'm afraid to try them out. Their switches might be stuck too," Billy sighed, glaring at the switch panel.

"Anyway, I haven't noticed any other malfunctions today. We should be safe for the time being."

"That's always good. I could give a hand if need be. The Denden Sensor helps with that." replied Philip.

"Denden Sensors?" Billy asked, blowing a stream of bubbles away from his face to clear his line of sight. They'd piled really high, hadn't they?

"Don't suppose that's deliberate?" Hoshi mused out loud to Billy as she noticed the pink bubbles now floating around as she poked one of them before getting a few of them in her hands and blowing the bubbles around the room they were in.

She was going to have fun with this little malfunction, however silly it was.

"Not at all," Billy groused, swatting a few of them right back at her. The pile was up high enough for him to have a little fun too. "The switch somehow got jammed. I had to pry it off, but I can promise I had no intention of smelling like cotton candy of all things."

"Who knows, maybe you were hungry for cotton candy!" Hoshi teased, giggling right after saying it. While she did this, she sent a few more bubbles straight for him, a confident grin on her lips.

"It's been a while, actually," Billy thought, splattered with more bubbles just a second later. He wiped the mess from his hair, scooping up the mess in front of his chest and flicking it at her.

"...huh. Were you planning to relax here today, or are we just going to have a bubble fight?"

"The same's for me," Hoshi remarked, moving out of the trajectory of the bubbles.

"Both, actually, and see if I can't make new friends," she replied, smiling.

"This has always been a strange place to make new friends for me," Billy wondered aloud, shifting back to place his shoulders in the path of the waterfall. That felt much better.

"But if it works, it works," he added. Not that his bubble blowing worked. It just ended with him looking sillier and more bubble-covered than ever.

Shoutarou makes a slightly comical annoyed face at the bubbles and the smell that comes with them, swatting them away.

This is not hard-boiled at all.

Billy looks up to see another new visitor...someone he'd met over the comm network, maybe? He nods, making an attempt at swatting.

"The bubble dispenser had a malfunction today. It wouldn't stop," Billy explained, not exactly happy to be covered in scented bubbles either.

A nod, then a sigh. "I see. It could be worse, though. Probably won't hear the end of it from Hoshi or Philip though if I run into them later." He chuckles faintly, poking at a few bubbles to pop them idly.

"Then you must be Shoutarou," Billy deduced, a faint smile on his face. "I don't think you have to worry. I know Phillip and Hoshi, and they're both good people. They'll eventually relent."

Key word: eventually.

Another chuckle. "My reputation precedes me - hopefully a good one." Hearing some praise for Philip made him a bit proud, though. "Eventually. It's getting to that point that's the tricky part," he answers, grinning a little.

"You'll survive," Billy was sure. "I've never known those two to hold out too long."

Oh---by the way, he hadn't quite introduced himself. "Uh...right, I'm Billy! The co-head of Engineering, I think I exchanged comm messages with you once."

"Boo-yah! Bubblebath!"

"Hnk! Yeah, bubbles!" Ron in his green trunks, followed by Rufus, dived right in.

Billy blinked once, then twice, folding his hands over his towel. Oh, he was glad to see Ron, but this was definitely going to be interesting.

"Are you sure you're going to be able to find Rufus in all of this?"

Ron shrugged. "He'll be fine, he knows how to swim." Although doing so while trapped in a bubble that was rising into the air was a little more difficult.

"HALP!" He squeaked.

"Rufus!" Billy yelped, making a careful grab for the bubble. He cupped one hand, swinging to pop the bubble with the other.

"I guess he doesn't know how to fly, though."

"Maybe you should stay out of the bubbles little buddy."

Billy handed Rufus back over to Ron, a rather baffled smile on his face. "They're nice, I suppose, but not really easy to navigate," he wondered aloud, blowing some away from his face. "I'm fixing all these buttons."

That said, he looked back over at Ron, wondering how he was doing. "Is everything all right with you?"
