Newbie Meet n' Greet

For the newbies, there are people waiting for them in the Obs Deck. A whole gaggle of people. Behind them is the nasty statue, and the beautiful sight through the windows of the stars streaming past and the swirling vortex of collars that was interdimensional travel.

There are more questions than answers, but the crew is willing to help, especially the Command Staff and greeters.

"Depends? So you've hit points where the ship can't be trusted?" Selene asked, raising eyebrow.

"The ship's AI seems to have been reprogrammed to hide information and restrict areas from us. The extent of this isn't completely known, but the style of the restricted information and the forbidden areas seem to be accompanied with the intent of crippling the function of this crew."

Selene's eyes widened, a look of clear panic on her face. Not quite horror, but it was definitely safe to say she was thinking 'oh shit.'

Hadn't she heard something eerily similar to that before?

Oh yes, that's right.

She heard it from E just...what? An hour or two before now? E, who had been working on the back up plan of talking to the organic ship with his magic to convince it to go against it's master with mind messing stuff he could do. The ship had been rather easy to put to sleep. She had even had a brief thought that was because E was messing with it's will.

Hearing that that was being used against them? Not a pleasant thought at all. "Is the whole ship organic, even the doors?" She asked, the panicked look turning thoughtful within a few seconds of it first forming.

"So far, every piece of the ship seems to be organic in nature, yes." He could see she was quite panicked, something he found odd. Considering the possibilities, he could reach only one conclusion, and he voiced it, speaking in gentle tones to avoid antagonizing her.

"Have you dealt with something like this before?"

"Not...directly," Selene said, still thinking. If it was all organic, she couldn't go through astrally. Stupid, weird brain frequencies it made. But maybe there was something else she could do?

She never did try and see what happened if she didn't touch elsewhere besides the core. Maybe a system malfunction to get a door open? Or maybe she'd blow up the ship again.

....she'd put that on the back burner of thought.

"I have a friend whose on a superhero team. The Luminaries of Apex City. She's told me on how they're dealt with a Kanshian ship on their own and how they helped defeat the Kanshian fleet that had been trying to invade the world a few days ago," Selene explained.

Well, all things considered, she hoped she could go with a time distortion thing in case the others were here and just said it was an hour or two ago.

"What you just described was basically a back up plan they were going to use on the Kanshian fleet. Which was a hivemind race with organic ships. For a while, I was worried this was a Kanshian ship when I first realized the floor was pulsing."

She'd already been preparing this lie in her head as soon as she realized her situation, so she was pretty good at keeping a nervous, but not hysterical tone of voice to seem she was definitely worried about the situation, but not about to freak out.
