Newbie Meet n' Greet

For the newbies, there are people waiting for them in the Obs Deck. A whole gaggle of people. Behind them is the nasty statue, and the beautiful sight through the windows of the stars streaming past and the swirling vortex of collars that was interdimensional travel.

There are more questions than answers, but the crew is willing to help, especially the Command Staff and greeters.

"Dimension. I do not know this word," Sharp Tongue concedes finally.

"Are you going to tell me what it is?"

Sharp Tongue won't be too surprised if the answer is "no", in her experience she's convinced humans like to lord things over everything else. Especially their thumbs. This raptor has thumb envy.

"It's... uh, a version of something. Look, I'm just a reporter, not an astrophysicist. If you talk to the blond guy with green skin, he can probably tell you all about it, and if he doesn't, you can probably use him as a chew toy."

"Your suggestion that I chew on human flesh is repulsive, but this information is helpful. I thank you. I will talk to this green skinned one about this matter," says Sharp Tongue. She gives an exaggerated head bob.

Lois doesn't miss a beat. Journalism is her forte when dimensional stuff isn't.

"Reporters break stories and get the news out. Keep information flowing. Expose the truth. That stuff."

"It is like trading shamans, then," Sharp Tongue asserts. "Do you go between human tribes? I have done this before."

Raptors don't tend to care much about what other tribes do so long as they keep out of each others' territory. Most of their news involves changes in human and tyrannosaur activity, and even then they lie a lot to present their own tribe in the most advantageous way possible.

"Yeah," Lois says, "then we go sit in our mud huts and do ceremonial tribal dances around the fire."
