Newbie Meet n' Greet

For the newbies, there are people waiting for them in the Obs Deck. A whole gaggle of people. Behind them is the nasty statue, and the beautiful sight through the windows of the stars streaming past and the swirling vortex of collars that was interdimensional travel.

There are more questions than answers, but the crew is willing to help, especially the Command Staff and greeters.

"I say plenty of sensible things!" He hisses, snapping at (quite literally) at the other raptor. "Like 'Kill the humans!' and 'Get out of our territory!' and that kind of thing."

He shakes his head, claws tap-tapping on the floor.

"If there are, I will best them and prove myself the leader!" He puffs up. He seems rather confident that he can take on anything this place throws at him.

"So do I! The hatchlings need feeding and the humans were knocking down more trees to grow their herbivore food and we were supposed to go show them whose territory this is..." He sounds bitterly disappointed that he's missing that part.

Sharp Tongue hisses at the snap, jumping back and growling a little in response. It's not a serious offense, just typical raptor back and forth.

"If the Chieftain is here, you will make a grand fool of yourself attempting to lord over him," she scoffs. "And I am next in line to become the shaman. There are many warriors who can hold your place."

Actually, Sharp Tongue, there are several other reliable apprentices that could just as easily take your spot in the line of succession. You just don't like to think about it.

"Pfagh!" He makes noise of derision, snorting and hop-skipping to one side, tail waving lazily. "I am the only one who has mastered the human rifle!"

Mastered is probably far too kind word, but he is the only one who manages to fire the damn thing. And load it. Somehow.

"And if he is old and weak, it will be easy to take over. Unless he has younger bodyguards. We must watch him and see what happens, I think." And Red Snout would say it if he thought about that kind of thing. But he's more preoccupied with how he can boss more people around right now.

It's Sharp Tongue's turn to be derisive. "Human rifle! Don't make me laugh. It is slower than tooth or talon, and you can barely use it."

She calls shenanigans on his mastery. Oh snap.

"Perhaps he does. That is what they usually have, if they are old and slow. We will have to break their trust for each other if we wish to rise up over them. But for now, yes. We watch. Patience."

She's glad to see Red Snout's not about to charge in blindly, that's one less problem for her to worry about.

Red Snout rises to the defense of his baby precious rifle. "So what? It can hit things from further then any tooth or talon! And I can use it fine! You're just jealous I got the idea first."

Don't insult a raptor's rifle. It makes him feel lame.

"Yes. Patience. Hm." He agrees with you on this one, for once, Sharp Tongue. But soon, soon they will be in charge and all the humans will do what they are told.

"It is also so slow that by the time you fire it, your enemy is at your throat," says Sharp Tongue. She chuffs a little. "You may keep your human weapon, I assure you that I do not want it." Sharp Tongue has never understood her tribemates love of his human rifle. She probably never will. Warriors and their trophies.

"Are you certain it will not kill you?" She can't resist the jab.
