Newbie Meet n' Greet

For the newbies, there are people waiting for them in the Obs Deck. A whole gaggle of people. Behind them is the nasty statue, and the beautiful sight through the windows of the stars streaming past and the swirling vortex of collars that was interdimensional travel.

There are more questions than answers, but the crew is willing to help, especially the Command Staff and greeters.

"Nothing's wrong, it's just that Tex is here. She doesn't have a body so she can't beat me up or anything, but she's annoying."

Well, mostly he resents being one of her favorite targets for verbal abuse.

He just hopes she never remembers that he technically owes her a favor.

"That's kind of a dumb reason to dislike someone, Grif. Why don't you give her a peace offering. A truce? The only people here from Blood Gulch is me, you and Tex so far. No Sister or Church or Sarge or anyone else."

"Thank God. Seriously, I do not need any more headaches than I already have."

Simmons wouldn't be so bad, upon reflection, but nobody else in the canyon was all that tolerable. His sister being here would just be too stressful to contemplate.

"And truce? Sure, fine, whatever. But she started it and it's not stopping any time soon."

"Maybe if I talked to Tex? She seems to be less hostile towards me and when she gets her body back we don't need a fight between the two of you. Because I'll be the one patching you up."
