Me and Ruffnut down by the Hydro Bay

Ok, so she had totally promised Negi she would be responsible for the pills, but she was only half truthing it. She had, after all, constantly had the whole "only twelve" thing bringing her down in certain situations, and wanted to amend that, at least for a little while. So she was down in the hydroponics bay, filling up mug after mug with the beer, the animals in the bay looking at her momentarily before going about their business.

If they wouldn't let twelve year old Hit Girl drink, they WOULD let nineteen year old Mindy Macready do so. And so when Ruffnut arrived, she would find a taller, more athletic looking blond sitting by the beer tree, one leg up, beer already in hand.

"Took you long enough, Ruff," she said.

"You know you can't count our fights as a win just because you're still awake. If you can't move I win." Ruff argued and just to prove a point she slammed the beer letting out a sigh of relaxation.

"I dunno, you seem to be pretty lazy about finishing these though. Maybe I finally found a weakness of yours. See, here I thought you'd be powering these down with me and all, but you seem to be taking them pretty slowly. Then again...maybe its because our Overlord finally got under your skin?"

Yes, she's totally needling you now.

Ruffnut smirked and rolled her eyes, "What I should be slamming these things down instead of enjoying the taste?"

Just to please her momentarily older friend though she slugged back this drink as well.

"What, this actually tastes good to you?" Mindy asked, looking skeptical. "Eh, I guess, maybe i just need to have different ones or something."

She put her drink down, and took off her boots, petting one of the nearby animals. "Know any good drinking songs, viking?"

Ruff had to think for a moment there was more then a few that were thrown around Birk, but the first that came to mind was the first one she started belting out.

A long time ago, way back in history,
when all there was to drink was nothin but cups of tea.
Along came a man by the name of Charlie Mops,
and he invented a wonderful drink and he made it out of hops.

He must have been an admiral a sultan or a king,

Mindy snickered, grinning. "I like it! Good stuff, really! We Irish know a few, but ya know, I wanted to get see what it was like, coming from you."

She took a long drink, then wiped her mouth. "I'm all ready for another training session, I dunno about you. I feel restless, like I need to be doing something and breaking stuff or taking out my frustration somewhere, you know? That's kinda why I'm doing this: I could do some more training, but my favorite thing is doing some crazy shit with you."

"We should get a car!" Ruff chimed in eagerly, "Zetta's car was really cool all fast and dangerous." After all training every day would be boring if it wasn't for the fact she was training with a friend.

"Hell yeah, why not?" Mindy said. "I can drive one, and I haven't been in one in a little why, actually. We'll have to try on th next mission, or I can take you on one now. It'd be pretty cool!"

She missed driving, honestly.

"Alrght!" Ruff clinked her drink with Mindy's and downed it as well, somewhere along the way she'd pulled ahead by two drinks, but her gaze was already fuzzy and her grin silly. "It'll be so badass! Like a metal dragon with wheels that can't fly!"

Well, she wasn't going to be outdone! Mindy downed a whole mug, although she was reeling a little bit from this, snickering a little.

"I'sh not a metal dragon, ish a car!" she insisted, giggling. "Needs gas though, and a lot of room, so we better only drive it in the city. Better trick it out too!"

She's wait on the mug though, just for the moment. "It'll be aweeeeeeesome! we will be the best demons ever!"

"Damn right!" Ruffnut grinned urging her friend on. She had experience on her side in this contest even if her body mass wasn't all that much different. So while she was enjoying the wibbly wobbly feeling in her head and stomach she knew she could still, if she had to, walk somewhere. Maybe not in a straight line but she'd get there.

Mindy, a little less experienced, was definitely wobbly on her feet, and she knew this by the way they would not let her stand up at the moment. Maybe she had had too much? She was'nt sure, but she WAS giggling on the way down.

"One more, ya thinksh?"

"Don't make yourself sick!" Ruff warned with a crooked smile and shoved her playfully.

"Fuck off, I'm not sick!" Mindy insisted, although she definitely did feel a little light headed. "Though I think I'll go slow on the next batch."

She took a sip, then put it down. "You shouldn't have to be worrying about relationships and shit now anyways. There's a war, and melting clocks or whatever. I swear, it gets more and more like a damn soap opera in this place."

"I'm not worried!" Ruff argued defensively and then added, "And what the hell's a soap opera?"

"Good, you better not be!" Mindy snickered. "The last thing I need is you getting all starry eyed over someone that calls you pretty!"

She shook her head. "Think of how people whine on the ship, but like, with ten times less significant problems than we have. That's a soap opera. Oh, and there's lot of sex."

"Pft, they'd have to be blind." She laughed at her own joke and played with sparks on her fingertips.

"That sounds stupid." She remarked with regards to the soap opera, "I mean sex is cool but who wants the rest of that crap?"

"The hell are you talking about?" Mindy said, looking at Ruffnut. "They wouldn't have to be blind. They'd just need to know the real you or whatever, and like it. You're crazy, spo-spontane-off the wall, and jump into battle at the drop of a hat. Most guys do stupid shit like that, so they'd just have to like that in their partner. And its not like you're ugly."

Mindy giggled. "Oh, its just for stupid girls and women with no good time in their hands. They like the stories, the relationships or whatever. Trust me, its pretty bad."

Ruff felt a heat in her face and she blinked giving Mindy a shove, "You're out of your mind. I'm cutting you off." She joked feeling weird about the compliments.

"Ok, number one: you ain't the boss of me, and number two, what are you talking about? You look good, ok? Stop being stupid. I'm the only one you can trust to tell you without, you know, being influenced by something retarded by the ship."

Amazingly, it wasn't the alcohol talking.

"What are you talking about" Ruff was starting to get that confused look on her face. "I'm like, all arms and legs. Like a spider or somethin'." She she was bad ass but she wasn't exactly a catch by Viking standards.

"I mean I could hold my own against any of the really good lookin' girls when the storms come but guys usually like girls with...." She was gesturing in a manner to signify that where she came form men typically preferred more ample women. Sturdy child bearing hips and busts to make the babies strong.

"Dude, so what? Arms and legs you're going to buff into muscle, and you have, like, all this enthusiasm and awesomeness. If guys aren't going to go for you because they want some bitch with big hips and tits, they're useless. Find someone that likes you for all the awesomeness that you are, and find him soon. That way, you know, I can get used to you not being around as much or whatever."

Relationships. Such a waste of time. That's what she was telling herself anyway.

Ruff still wasn't entirely sure she understood. She laughed anyway thinking there as some joke here, "Aw come on, how do you know? You're a girl! You're a one woman army and a love guru?"

"Hell no I'm not a love guru! I just know you, that's all, and if I were a guy, I would totally go for you. You're exactly the kind of person I'd wanna date: you're courageous and full of energy and everything. I don't know shit about love, and I probably never will."

"Feh." Ruff snorted in protest, "Love is probably overrated anyway. Hiccup and Astrid just got lucky." She leaned into Mindy anyway and passed her another drink.

"And you're practically a boy already."
