Finally some roomie tim-whoops.
It had been an arduous few days. Between the situation with people losing memories and then the people coming back from the Ohm attack, Kaya had been pretty busy. She hadn't even left the med bay, preferring to sleep here instead of back at the Outsider's hotel. She knew she had already missed quite a bit due to this: sessions with Chase, the upkeep of the hotel, and general having fun time, but priorities were priorities. Now that she had some time to herself though, she was hoping to spent some time helping her roommate decorate and at least have some general fun: Alex, after all, had brought all of those interesting black light things, why not put them to good use?
She walked up the stairs of the hotel, making a beeline straight for the hotel suite. It was one of the good things about not having to be alone: it didn't matter that Alex was a boy, at least he was SOMEONE she could talk to on a daily basis. Besides, she had those sliding doors now, so they could respect each others privacy.
But then she reached the room and opened the door, and saw all of his things were gone, specifically the laptop he prized so much, and she knew he had been podded. She closed her eyes a moment, slowly counting to ten, tears springing to her eyes.
Of course.
She took a breath, then wiped her eyes and closed the door, going back down the steps, and quietly closing the door behind her. She wanted to scream, or cry, or throw a fit at least, but none of these things would bring Alex back. So she just wandered the city park for the moment, looking tired.

"No, love...I didn't mean it that way," he apologized awkwardly, ears bright red by that point. "I was just asking about the injuries. I haven't seen what's left myself. I know Kaya put me back together very well, but with what I've been feeling lately I imagine it has to show."
But the pain was fading now, he thought. He'd finally been able to feel the touches of the water and Ronnie's hand without pain.

She shook her head. "And you guys together are amazing, ok? You're both very sweet and caring with each other: don't lose sight of that, all right?"
She smiled, and then reached over and kissed them both on the cheek. "It's cute."

"T-thanks Kaya."

He blushed even further at that action from his girlfriend, a suspicion rising that he had been had. Well, if she wanted to play, he could play.
"If you're so attracted to me, I'm surprised you're not jumping at the chance to join a whirlpool with me. We could support each other, right?"

She looked to Ronnae for approval, but was pretty sure she would get approval. She closed her eyes and brought her hands out, making a pool for the two to struggle against, but light as possible.
"Have fun!"

"Besides, it's easier to wash you from where I'm at, and I don't want to hurt you so I want to be careful love." She smiled shyly and nodded at Kaya, "Whirlpools are really relaxing, thank you Kaya. I'm sure it'll help Billy greatly."

"Then I suppose I'd better tell you what happened to us out there. You knew Alex, right? Well...he's been repodded," he sighed, sinking into whatever warmth he could in the hopes of distracting himself.

She closed her eyes, bubbling the water some more.

"Maybe he'll return? Just like Kaya did." She looked to Kaya with a concerned look. "What will you be doing Kaya? I know he was your roommate... but after everything I... I jus' want to know you're safe... and happy."
no subject
"I want to know that too," his voice chimed in, his hand reaching for Kaya. "We're not letting you suffer through this alone."

She looked a little unsure about the last part. The both of them had been so busy in the past few weeks, would they have time for each other?

She starts washing Billy hair, massaging his scalp while she continues the conversation. "Well there's plenty of locations you can stay at nearby us, the guest room is still open, and if you moved near us you'd have three awesome neighbors." she added in a more cheerful tone.

"I'm sure they'll let you back on the bus," Billy reassured Kaya more loudly, his voice taking on the light tone it did when he was feeling good. He restrained from the usual purr for Kaya's sake, but they'd both see him relaxing with a quick smile.
Not forgetting the subject matter, he went on. "Just show them you're still yourself, Kaya," he advised softly. "As far as Matt...I've been worried lately, but I think seeing you again would help him. The major reason you couldn't be together doesn't apply anymore, right?"
no subject
She smiled. "I hope so. The reason for Matt and I not being together doesn't apply, yes, but now I'm starting to wonder: is it really ok for us to still see each other when HIS Will could come out at any moment? Then what would we do, how would we explain ourselves?"
You can purr if you want, its cute, Kaya thought, giving Billy a lopsided smile.

She straightened herself again before moving to his arms and chest, looking over to Kaya. "If's should never be a factor when it comes to love. Frankly I personally never understood why it was broken up just because Aang showed up. But that's just me. If you loved him, and he loved you, unless all parties were comfortable with a multiple partner relationship, I saw no reason why the involvement of another was enough to break it up. But again, my views are different from everyone elses so I'm only voicing my thoughts on the matter."

And yes, Kaya, Billy purred in contentment, a little accusatory glance sent her way. As if it was somehow her fault that he did it.
At Ronnie's last opinion, he turned to Kaya. "Kaya can explain it better than I can." It wasn't his place to awkwardly stomp all over his sister's love life.

"It wasn't that simple. It's not like living on the ship changes the way things are in our worlds. Aang and Katara, those two fund love by completely crazy circumstances, and through all of the things they went through, fell for each other hard. I could feel that in me every time I saw Aang, and the pain she felt when something bad happened to him went through me. But in that case, I was being torn: in a way, I was glad Katara wasn't here to go through every time Aang came and was podded again. I felt it instead, and it hurt every time. Aang gave away everything to protect the people on this ship, and suffered a great deal. Imagine, then, he came out of stasis to find the woman he loved most of all with another man. It must have hurt him deeply. There was no doubt that I would break it with Matt. Aang didn't deserve this anymore than I did."

So much for pleasant conversation.

"I don't see why you can't have special feelings for someone just because they have or had a lifemate, or are still waiting for them. Specially if they return them. I... I guess I just don't understand this custom. Maybe you can teach me more when you feel more comfortable Kaya?" Ronnae spoke softly, worried about her friend, yet confused by the problems that were plaguing her.
no subject
"People like Kaya and I are trained in the belief that a lifemate must be the only lover, supposedly to make it more special. It's actually more related to property rights and childrearing customs, but we're so used to that training that it's taking us time to adjust."
He squeezed Ronnie's hand and looked up at her, another reminder that he understood and had agreed to try to work things out with any other lovers, then shuffled over to Kaya's end of the tub and embraced her...lightly at first, in case it was too awkward.
"You both deserve whatever will make you happiest. Be honest with him, see how far you're both willing to go. It might surprise you, but whatever happens? I want you to know that we love you."
no subject
"Matt and I aren't that way, but while our loves were gone, we realized we had an attraction to each other. Being with him, seeing how gentle he was with me: I treasure those things more than I'll ever say. But I also know that we're not the ones alone who would suffer if Will were to come back: she would too. It's her feelings we have to think about."
She smiled. "I know. You guys are the best. If I had any sense at all I would have just loved you two that way. You both have something special, and you understand each other so well. I hope I can have that someday."

It was around then that he fully remembered his situation and blushed, quickly retreating to Ronnie's end of the tub. "Ah...uh, well I'm almost finished?" Billy noted, lifting his leg out of the water for washing. "I'm actually feeling much better Hang on, I'm almost done."
He began working at his lower body, eyes fixed on his work to the exclusion of all else.
