Finally some roomie tim-whoops.
It had been an arduous few days. Between the situation with people losing memories and then the people coming back from the Ohm attack, Kaya had been pretty busy. She hadn't even left the med bay, preferring to sleep here instead of back at the Outsider's hotel. She knew she had already missed quite a bit due to this: sessions with Chase, the upkeep of the hotel, and general having fun time, but priorities were priorities. Now that she had some time to herself though, she was hoping to spent some time helping her roommate decorate and at least have some general fun: Alex, after all, had brought all of those interesting black light things, why not put them to good use?
She walked up the stairs of the hotel, making a beeline straight for the hotel suite. It was one of the good things about not having to be alone: it didn't matter that Alex was a boy, at least he was SOMEONE she could talk to on a daily basis. Besides, she had those sliding doors now, so they could respect each others privacy.
But then she reached the room and opened the door, and saw all of his things were gone, specifically the laptop he prized so much, and she knew he had been podded. She closed her eyes a moment, slowly counting to ten, tears springing to her eyes.
Of course.
She took a breath, then wiped her eyes and closed the door, going back down the steps, and quietly closing the door behind her. She wanted to scream, or cry, or throw a fit at least, but none of these things would bring Alex back. So she just wandered the city park for the moment, looking tired.

Well...he'd have to speed up construction on soundproofing the walls if more people were going to move nearby, that was for sure. His hand tugged on Ronnie's lightly before he shifted over to Kaya's side, offering a hug.
It was around then that he had a flash of inspiration. Such a proposition was silly, and he wasn't sure if Kaya would be offended by it, but maybe...
"I'll be right back. I've just remembered that I have something that might help you, Kaya." And Billy was bounding up the stairs, carefully sealing off his mind to prevent Kaya from learning what was up early.

Granted, she would have to make sure she could block out when Billy and Ronnae were intimate, but that was easily managed. They'd have to before anyway.
But when Billy left the two of them abruptly, she gave Ronnae a questioning look.
What was he planning?

"Why would there be anything wrong with rooming with a male? If anything, my sisters said that it was sometimes better cause rooming with girls could be a hassle." she asked curiously, looking at Kaya.

Finally, after a long struggle with the clutter, he slumped back down the stairs with the item wrapped in a simple checkered blanket. He'd have to be perky for this part.
Without further ado, he dropped the light and fluffy bundle into Kaya's arms. When it opened, it would reveal a stuffed wolf with shining blue eyes staring up at her.
"I know you have a dog already, Kaya, but I picked this up because it reminded me of a comfort object I had as a child. It's not quite the same as a living companion, but it's easily transportable and won't complain. I know it's probably a silly gift."
But he really hoped it helped.

She chuckled. "Billy, sometimes you really are the sweetest guy. Only you would think to go and get a girl a stuffed animal to make her feel more at home in an empty place. But its like they say: its the thought that counts."
And she reached over and gave him a hug. "Thank you."

She relaxed back into the couch and looked to the ceiling, she wondered for whatever reason how Ashfang was... Her chest knotted a bit as the thoughts of home hit her again. Her outer expression however didn't denote this. She was damn good at hiding her feelings.

Yes, there were more stuffed toys upstairs. He would dig them up if ever they were needed.
When that was done, he drew out a second blanket and tossed it over Ronnae. "I thought some relaxing might help all of us." Not that he remembered to get any for himself.

And she decided, at least for tonight, to impose just one more time.
"Would you guys mind if I stayed over tonight? I'll leave in the morning, I swear, and I'll try not to keep making this a habit, but I'd like to not be alone today, that's all. I'm going to have to start moving my stuff from the Suite soon anyway."

She looked to Kaya and nodded, "It's not a problem really. You shouldn't say it like you're not wanted here yanno?" Ronnie giggled a bit offering a warm smile.

"Take whatever room you'd feel most comfortable in, and don't hesitate to call on us for any reason." We promise to behave tonight, he added as silent reassurance for Kaya.
By behave, of course, he meant 'mostly behave', as Ronnie would feel with his playful hand.

She managed a smile, even if a part of her felt a little left out somehow. It would be nice, she thought, to have something like that with someone and not have it blow up in her face.
But between Azula and the Outsiders and training, she likely didn't even have the time anymore. She closed her hands around the stuffed animal, looking at them, an understanding expression on her face.

"Y-yeah j-jus' l-let us k-know if you need anything at all. A-and d-don't be afraid to knock!" a small squeak left her lips as she finished the sentence.

Before Kaya could go anywhere, he gave her a firm hug and kiss on the brow. "We're here for you, I promise. Let us know what you need and we'll do it."
no subject
She laughed softly. "You guys really are too cute sometimes!"
no subject
"Just make yourself at home wherever you'd like Kaya. Really." She smiled happily.

Even as he wound his arms around Ronnie's waist and tickled, just slightly, he thought on Kaya's situation. There had to be a way to make her comfortable. She had earned happiness many times over and it had yet to arrive.

"Thank you both, you've been really good to me," she said. "I know I have days where I can get ridiculously gloomy, and then you appear. I'm grateful for you both, I mean that."
