Finally some roomie tim-whoops.
It had been an arduous few days. Between the situation with people losing memories and then the people coming back from the Ohm attack, Kaya had been pretty busy. She hadn't even left the med bay, preferring to sleep here instead of back at the Outsider's hotel. She knew she had already missed quite a bit due to this: sessions with Chase, the upkeep of the hotel, and general having fun time, but priorities were priorities. Now that she had some time to herself though, she was hoping to spent some time helping her roommate decorate and at least have some general fun: Alex, after all, had brought all of those interesting black light things, why not put them to good use?
She walked up the stairs of the hotel, making a beeline straight for the hotel suite. It was one of the good things about not having to be alone: it didn't matter that Alex was a boy, at least he was SOMEONE she could talk to on a daily basis. Besides, she had those sliding doors now, so they could respect each others privacy.
But then she reached the room and opened the door, and saw all of his things were gone, specifically the laptop he prized so much, and she knew he had been podded. She closed her eyes a moment, slowly counting to ten, tears springing to her eyes.
Of course.
She took a breath, then wiped her eyes and closed the door, going back down the steps, and quietly closing the door behind her. She wanted to scream, or cry, or throw a fit at least, but none of these things would bring Alex back. So she just wandered the city park for the moment, looking tired.

This was replaced by a small smile as she stood up. "Well since you're almost done, I'll go ahead and prepare us a nice meal and some refreshing drinks."
She looked at them fondly before turning to leave the room and head down to the kitchen.

"You're not getting in the way," he insisted as he soaked up the last few moments of the comfortable water. "Even if you were, it hasn't been very often. We're always happy to look out for you, Kaya." As if to emphasize that, he swatted back his messy hair to meet her eyes, an inviting smile on his face.
At last it was over. He started his ascent out of the tub slowly, pleased to note that all that remained at the moment was a little lingering soreness. Bit by bit, he eased himself over the edge, finally managing to sit upright with a towel draped over his lap.

She politely averted her eyes as Billy climbed out, but DID have a peek at his backside a moment. She was still a girl, after all.
Billy. What Ronnae was talking about a moment ago, with the different partners. You guys have talked about this before, haven't you?

Billy strode over to her once he was happily dried off and wrapped in a robe, offering a firmer hug around her shoulders now that it felt safe to do so. "You're dealing with it well. You have your meditations, your training, unwinding with us...you're strong, don't forget that. You've lent so much of it to build me up."
He waited a beat to allow his encouragement to sink in, almost as if he was buttering her up for a punchline. For instance, reassuring me that I'm attractive. Or...well, at least my rear end is, he thought with a laugh.
Yes, he noticed. He wasn't going to let Kaya get away with all the mind-reading around here.

She leaned into the hug happily, smiling at him. "I think you're right. I just need this time to mourn him, and get over this rough patch with everything. I think, more than anything, I hope my bond with the other GAang isn't nonexistent."
And here, she giggled, turning red. I guess we can't keep anything from each other these days! The rest of you is fine too, though. I'm sure if you're skeptical though, Ronnae would be happy to remind you."
And she specifically winked in his direction.

She had already plated and served them at the living room table instead of the diner since she thought it'd be more comfortable. Of course she kill them if they got it on the couches.... ok not kill them, but she'd be upset!

Billy waited there for a few moments, that smile still on his face, before moving to get dressed for lunch. Button-down shirts were better than twisting and lifting his arms over his head right now, and his legs were fine enough that putting jeans on didn't bother him much. It would've been easier to let the plantsuit expand, but why dress that way for a nice meal?
Finally, he started down the stairs to find Ronnie and the food. First order of business was to take her by the neck and kiss her passionately, all the more excited by what he'd discussed with Kaya. And of course it was better to kiss before his mouth was full of food.
"I'm sorry that took so long, love. We were...taking a moment to express our appreciation for everything you've given us." Another kiss, this one accompanied with a little sway. He was...chipper. Just what had gone on up there?
He finally eyed the food with an approving look. "Though I suppose you've been busy too. You never cease to amaze me."

And so did she, once you got right down to it.
Kaya smiled and, in a way to let him know that she wasn't going to embarrass him,let him dress himself while she dried herself and put her own clothes back on. That bath was exactly what she needed and then follow Billy downstairs.
Of course their affection made her feel happy to be around them, glad she didn't even have pangs of jealousy like she used to when she missed Aang. The suggestive comment she found amusing, and also gave Ronnae a appreciative glance.
"This looks amazing," she said, grinning. "Thanks so much Ronnae!"
no subject
"I ah... what?" She was still in a mini daze before she was kissed again, her arms rising to wrap around his neck to return the kiss sweetly.
When the kiss broke, she blushed as she noticed Kaya and smiled shyly. "Oh ummm n-no problem~" She said in a small timid voice. "E-enjoy t-the meal~"
She took a seat herself and pulled one of the plates to rest atop her chest, what? They were useful for other things other than looking you know!
no subject
"We will, thank you," he smiled, taking his seat beside them and slowly starting to eat. He'd take his time savoring this---it wouldn't do to overstuff himself and then be laid up later on.
"Sorry if I startled you, Ronnie, but the healing's going well. I'm almost feeling normal again." That meant he had energy to burn, of course.

She did take the food and eat daintily, despite how deeply hungry she had gotten: it wouldn't do to go pig out and make herself look like a spectacle. Still, she did give Ronnae a warm smile in thanks.
"I'll always keep an eye on him Ronnae, trust me," Kaya said. "Billy is my closest friend here. I would never let him get too hurt if I could prevent it."
no subject
"Thank you Kaya, I know you'll keep him in line when I'm not around." She mused in a shy voice.
no subject
"And what, exactly, might I do if I'm out of line?"
no subject
But she smiled to let him know she was only looking out for him.

"You know I'll always listen to your advice. I can be good as well, but...maybe not completely," he suggested in a low voice, nuzzling Ronnie's ear.
no subject
She shook her head, eating a little. "Thank you guys, really. I feel a lot better now, being here with you two. I feel like I can relax, be myself here."
no subject
"A-ah I d-don't know wha-- wait... ummm errr..." she paused, wondering what to say before giving up and stuffing her mouth with food before she said anything that would further embarrass her.
no subject
And his shame promptly returned. Lifting a hand, he brushed Ronnae's hair back from her face as she ate. He was gentler now, worried about how he'd scared them.
"Always, Kaya. You're welcome here, and I promise I'm not always like this." That wild energy was still inside him, but he was fighting to contain it.
no subject
She giggled. "You guys are a really funny couple sometimes, the way you compliment each other."
no subject
Ronnae smiled timidly, twirling a bit of her hair now that she had no food to distract herself with. She finished off her drink and relaxed back against the couch, still a bit red faced.
"And if y-you d-don't feel comfortable around, it'd s-still be nice h-having you n-nearby in case you ever need t-to talk or something. The h-houses around here are f-fairly abandoned s-still. There's also K-Kosi's p-place. So y-you have options..."
no subject
"Yeah, that's right. I still have the house I cleared out, and there were others that might be more comfortable for you. Maybe you could even move the bus and start a neighborhood here?"
He slumped back against the couch with a lazy expression, his hand tentatively offered to Ronnie in apology. She could squeeze as hard as she wanted.
no subject
And it would seem that was the way the two of them were: teasing, laughing at each other, needling each other the way siblings would.
"The bus isn't mine to move," Kaya reminded him. "But staying near you guys would be better than staying by myself in the suite. It's still close to the hotel, and I'd be able to visit."
At the mention of Nokosi, Kay laughed. "That's tempting, but I wouldn't want to mess with his living situation. I'm very tidy, it might drive him crazy, he's such a free spirit!"
no subject
She squeezed Billy's hand happily, a smile back on her face.
no subject
Well...he'd have to speed up construction on soundproofing the walls if more people were going to move nearby, that was for sure. His hand tugged on Ronnie's lightly before he shifted over to Kaya's side, offering a hug.
It was around then that he had a flash of inspiration. Such a proposition was silly, and he wasn't sure if Kaya would be offended by it, but maybe...
"I'll be right back. I've just remembered that I have something that might help you, Kaya." And Billy was bounding up the stairs, carefully sealing off his mind to prevent Kaya from learning what was up early.
