Mingling at the Bazaar

Next to the Mall Hotel, a large bazaar sprawled out through the streets. Food stalls, jewelery stalls, plastic surgery stalls...might want to stay away from that last one. But since the bizaar was close by, it served as a good place for the crew to meet up and start their exploration of XaXing.

[[ooc: This is just a general mingling post guys, so jump in and start threads, tag into other people's, whatever you want!]]

Holding a special affinity for the blade since she was old enough to hold her first dagger, Yve had much the same idea as Hawke. She was testing the heft and weight of an interesting looking longsword when she noticed the man banging away at the targets set up. She preferred dual-weapon combat, but she could appreciate someone who chose two-handed weapons. She'd been in combat with Sten and Oghren both enough to recognize that Hawke was moving quite a bit more efficiently than either one of them ever had. She could appreciate that, though she could almost hear Sten's voice hissing out a Qunari insult and claiming the bas was misusing the power of the blade.

The thought made her smile, and after a moment she leaned away from the table she was standing at, giving the sword in her hand a practised twirl through the air as she made her way towards the targets.

"Where did you learn to fight, a barn?"

Hawke paused for a moment, turning to look at Yve when she addressed him.

"Considering I grew up in Lothering..." he said with a slight grin. "...Yes."

Well. Really, it was the barracks for the local militia. But it was small and ragged enough to qualify.

"Ah, of course. Lothering. Lovely little town full of grouchy farmers and nosy Chantry priestesses," Yve smirked, giving the target she'd stopped in front of an experimental tap with the broad side of the sword, testing just how fake-solid it was.

"Barn or not and despite what Sten might say, however, you've obviously been trained, otherwise I doubt you could lift that thing," she looked pointedly at the sword Hawke was wielding. She was hardly a frail woman, but the one time she'd tried to lift her brother's broadsword had been an exercise in embarrassment, so she knew there was skill alone behind it. "Were you at Ostagar?"

"Don't forget the cows!" Hawke added. "You can never forget the cows."

He chuckled before turning back to the holo-targets, slicing the one in front of him in half.

"Yes, I was there," he continued, slightly more somberly. "My brother, my friend, and I myself all fought there. They should have left Loghain's body to rot in a ditch for what he did there."

He started hacking at the targets a little more aggressively with that. That subject's still a bit of a sore spot.
