It's five o'clock somewhere!
It was easy to find the Drunken Dragon Tavern, due to the train, and the fact that a good portion of the crew was familiar with the establishment and could point the way. Kang knew that there were a few already planning on stopping by, and that Kaylee could use the help. He also wanted to get more information on the new people, see who was likely to cause problems (Farseer Ildraniath already had) and who wasn't. There were a few he hoped would show up, as well.
Feeling a little happier than usual, despite the Farseer, he took care of business as usual, being sociable and refilling drinks.
[Open post is very open. Feel free to talk to either Kang or Kaylee, or both, or to threadjack (with permission, of course)!]

"Mind control is an incredibly strong power to have. Ran into a couple of those back in my academy days. Always caused trouble and tried getting away with things." He said in a nonchalant manner.

A mental laugh escaped her and she nodded. "It's an (easily) abusable power to have. If you don't get away with things then make them think you got away with them."

"I'm not foreign to having things as a need to know basis. But c'mon, if we're fightin' these tings? We deserve to at least know whatever the fuck they know about em'"

She pushed her mug back towards the bar and folded her hands over each other, a nervous expression on her face. She'd have to focus; the alcohol wasn't doing that much to silence the babbleroar in her head.
Finally she sighed and looked in his general direction. "I'll give it a week or two; enough time for everyone to get settled (and properly content). Then I think I'll begin asking questions or (stealthily) probing minds, though I'm not so certain this 'Stacy' will let me get away with it (because the second best thing about all this is being tossed in with a possible 'Hal')."

He sighs.

He seems friendly, but less outgoing than before. A calm serene thoughtful expression, as he raises another cup to his lips and drinks.
"So, aside from your lover back home. Any other special people in your life?" He asked in a soft almost too relaxed voice.
His thoughts were jumbled. Prior to now, it was impossible to read any of the thoughts he was having aside from his words. Now however, the scenery in his mind changed.
A barren red planet, and a small colony village. Dust devils dancing on the horizon as a vulture bike came into view, and just as fast left. His focused seemed to be on a couple of girls, one was a bit covered in the red dust, playing with a stuffed doll. She had reddish hair and freckles anywhere the sun touched her light pale skin. The other girl however, had dark raven hair, she couldn't be much older than seven, and yet she wore a similar uniform to the one Splicer had.

"Not particularly. There were few amongst the Superhomeys that I would consider 'friends'. And family?..." Her mental voice trailed off before she spoke up again. "I had a brother, once."

Suddenly the girl in the combat suit jerked alert, looking back in his direction. A tall, tank of a man came up besides him, in the same suit, tossing a large liquor bottle to the side and pulling his large rifle out.
In a blink of an eye, the other girl vanished in a spray of dirt and rock, which then rained down on them. In her place, a large worm like creature, a maw fully covered in teeth now wriggled in place as the three, began unloading their rifles onto it. The worm tilted on it's side and opened it's maw in a horrifying roar, out of it began pouring dozens of other alien creatures, a swarm, all looking deadly and intent on nothing but destruction.

She silently sat there, watching the memory in his mind float by. Was he intentionally showing her this? As a telepath, he would know that anyone who dipped into his mind would be witness to this, too.
One look at him told her all she needed to know, though. He was drunk or near it and his mental defenses must have relaxed. Why he was thinking of this particular scene right now, she had no idea.

Their team had fallen back, shooting as they ran. The small colony overrun. They had been joined by two females, both looking fairly similar. Orders where shouted and the team reacted accordingly. They were heading to a starship of sorts, possibly theirs. Upon arrival however, they noticed it had already been overrun... They huddled in a phalanx formation, staring down the incoming swarm. The little girl pressed herself in between the other members, her hand gripping his for a moment before he gave her a reassuring smile. Things would be alright... they always turned out right...

"We can go now." If anything, hewas the one who needed to be going back to his place and getting some rest. Even if he were a fairly docile drunk, there was no telling how his psychic powers reacted when one was wasted.
That and her drinks weren't doing much for her, now. The buzzing bee was still there, flying around her mind and she was more than antsy about it. Soon, she thought, she would have to find some sort of spot far, far away from most of the people on the ship so her mind could get some much needed rest,

He made a motion to the bar, regardless of whether or not it was returned and made his way to her side, extending an arm to her and giving her a simple sincere smile.
"Then let us be off then pretty lady." He replied in a soothing friendly tone.
His thoughts became muddled and obscure, finally fading to black. His mind was void of thought as if the defenses had suddenly kicked back in. Nothing was seen or heard other than the chilling sound of true silence.

"Only for a maiden as yourself of course. One that isn't tossing me out of a window after a long night of drinks." He joked back, a deep low rumble of a laughter.

He proceeded to escort her out and through the city, retelling unimportant yet amusing stories of the many bars he had visited.
