Till Death (or Liftoff) Do Us Part
Once Domalai made sure the crew was fully informed of what was expected of them in the upcoming rituals, he showed them over to where the Rituals of Judgement and Joining would be performed.
As they neared the gate that led into the city of Orongo, they could see many other people milling about, waiting for their turn to undergo the rituals themselves. The crew, of course, being a special case, are moved to the front of the line. Thankfully, everyone seems to be in a good enough mood that no one puts up a fuss about it.
The first area they were brought to had a simple stone circle, around which were three smaller circles. Two Moai priests were waiting there as they approached, and Domalai moved over to join them before speaking up.

Even here, he couldn't get his mind away from work.

"Willow's used that. Protection right?"
He wasn't one for research, but you pick up things over time. Especially all the field time he clocked in. He gulped and dipped his fingers into the paint before starting to draw another symbol he remembered seeing Giles and Willow use for warding.

He looked down at the symbol that Xander painted and grinned. "Thanks." Of course he knew it.

He then fell silent to focus on the painting, trying not to think of Anya and his adventures with chocolate, or thinking of how good the fruits smelled. And he is absolutely not thinking of Sam's hands on him. Not at all.

He finished painting Xander's chest and along his arms, then paused. "I...think that's enough?"
no subject
"Huh, what?"
He then shook his head and somehow brought his head up without really making eye contact with Sam.
"Oh yeah, yeah that should be...good."
no subject
He nodded, reaching up and pushing his hair back out of his eyes. "Right. So...I guess we find a priest."
no subject
He turned his head, used to compensating for his limited line of sight, "Yeah Uh you want to ask that one there or... Maybe you should ask." he was still having trouble talking around him.
no subject
That neither of them had considered THAT part meant they really hadn't thought this through yet.
Sam followed Xander's line of sight (abbreviated as it was) to take note of the priest before nodding. "Yeah. I'll go ahead and talk to him."
It turned out there wasn't actually a lot of talk involved, because the priest waved them over happily as they got closer. "Guess that's the easy part," he muttered, shrugging before kneeling down.
no subject
He blinked his eye at the smiling priest, and shrugged.
"Right, easy," just ignore the fact his heart felt like it was going to gallop out of his chest. He knelt down, and faced Sam. The priest reminded him on the eye contact before beginning to chant. He looked back, trying to not to look so nervous as the chanting notes had a weird under vibe to it and lights starting swirling again. He missed seeing Sam's Judgement so he didn't know what to expect.

The colors swirled around them, green and orange and blue and Sam's red shot through with grey. A bit of a reminder that Sam wasn't alone in his own head, though Schmuz found this whole wedding thing entirely boring and was grumping.
It went on like that for a few minutes, the lights and chant working together until the song finally came to an end. Sam blinked, looking up. "That's it?"
no subject
"I guess so? Big build up, liiiittle show." The priest then nodded to them that they were indeed done. He pointed out the huts to them.
Xander got up, and then froze again.
"We have to go there, whoa, but there's two beds right? Yeah, yeah just like that motel in Oxnard where you can ask two queens if you need to."
no subject
He looked at the priest, then back to Xander. "You know, I'm not tired yet. Maybe we should go into the city, see what's there and all."
