it's days like these, you gotta find it in some other way, so one foot in front of the other [OPEN]
Now she's decided she needs to go running, and with people constantly in and out of the sensorium, reliving old battles (Honestly she thinks do I go in there and recreate the bridge of the Basroil? No.), the halls seem like the best place. Simply put, the gravity's getting to her and she's afraid of being a burden to her team just because she spent almost all her life in half G.
So you can find Lafiel in the hallways, the walls flashing past her eyes in a monotonous display of throbbing meatiness as she jogs.
The floor, however, is uneven. She steps into a pothole and falls abruptly, followed by a string of curses in Baronh. She's sprained her ankle.
After bandaging herself up (too prideful to accept help from Stacy), she'll be at the mess hall, downing bowls of the bland, proteiny glop, because after a workout, you really don't care all that much about taste.
Find her in either place.

He certainly notices Lafiel. It's hard not to notice someone as exotic looking as her. But, having learnt his lesson from talking to Jo, Lister doesn't stare directly, just looks at her sideways.
Give him a minute, and he might even invite himself over beside her.

"Hello." She says before he's quite finished sitting down.

To his credit though, he recovers, and offers his hand. "Dave Lister, nice to meet you."
He's going for the confident approach this time.

She's completely unaware of his thought process...

Lister pauses politely while Lafiel eats, trying to look at her covertly. Time to play it smooth.
"This may be an odd question, but are you human?" Thinking that this is perhaps a little blunt, he adds. "I used to be the last one."

But whatever else he was about to say is cut off when Lafiel casually mentions interbreeding. It's lucky he didn't have a mouthful of slop, or it would be all over the table.
"Erm, no-one else. Not till I came here. Now there's lots," he answers her last question with his voice in a slightly higher pitch than usual.

In a moment the Spartan as there offering her a hand. "That looked like a bad fall."

"I am fine." Which she most certainly was not.

"It looks like you've got a sprain, or worse."

She easily supports Lafiel's weight, the woman may get the feeling that it really isn't any effort at all for her.

She's not used to being supported like this. Only one person has ever done that for her, in fact, and he was...She shook the thought away. No use dwelling on it.
"Thank you." She said when they reached the medbay.

It's something of a poor joke, but Kirk's trying. He has a tray of the glop himself and he's ruefully starting to force it down.

He offers a wry smile in reply to her question, "As far as I'm aware, this is what we can hope to eat for as long as we're aboard. If she can season it, I haven't seen, smelled or tasted it."

Either he gets the joke and is merely commenting or he didn't get it in the first place. You decide.
"Sometimes, at least among the senior staff. But, I find that talking with the crew from time to time is good for morale and improving the relationship between them and their officers."

Another pause as he thinks, "A few weeks, I believe. It's rather hard to keep track of time in here...."

descendantscousins..." She says with a small smile. "Only a few weeks? I initially thought this place was very disorganized but that is rather quick to produce a functioning command hierarchy from so many disparate traditions."(no subject)
