Queries and Quibbles--mind your Q's

[ooc: Read this bit.]

Something happens outside the ship. There's a concussive noise like something docking, and then the doors to Obs open again, to reveal a mostly intact, but somewhat bedraggled away team. One of them is injured, and part of the group works to get her down to MedBay, some of the others look stoic and a touch upset with what they've learned.

Some look pissed off that their various morphers and power suits have been stolen away from them again by Stacy's tentacles or dampened.

Something happens INSIDE the ship. A handful of individuals are released from their pods after quite some time of running imaginary mazes.

"There are clocks, but the ones I've seen seem they like to... dance around a little when no one is looking." Wednesday spins a finger in alternating circles to demonstrate.

"So...no clocks that work. Is there an artificial cycle, or do people just go by biological rhythms?" Although, after a while their rhythms should have desynchronized, the way bodies did without a consistent schedule.

"More the latter," he says with a nod. "The ones doing the important work go in shifts, more or less, but the rest of us muddle along as best as we can manage."

"I assume only half the crew is awake at the same time as the other half, then." Kyle pauses and glances at the crowd, having heard something about 'mildly hazardous' something something, but he lost it. Well, if it was truly 'hazardous', no doubt he'd find out about it sooner or later. Preferably not by direct contact.

"That's what it seems to be working out to—though the half in question is never quite the same from day to day, as people align their schedules with each other."

"That seems...disorganized. Does the chain of command work in shifts? There... is a chain of command, right?" Kyle looks around. He can't imagine how a democracy would work, considering how many people there are, and the undoubtable diversity of opinions and values. Therefore, there must be a centralized command.

Wednesday nods. "Most important of them, there's a bald fellow, sounds very refined, likes to adjust his shirt—" —he mimes the Picard Manuever— "—he's the captain... by popular acclaim, no less. And the one who's about the size of a small moon with the muscles to match runs security. If you have any specialties in engineering or the sciences, you'll want to look for the supercilious green boy... and if you have any talents that could help us get out of here, there's a teenager, about so high, who's in actual clothes—but they're always blue."

The reference to someone the size of a small moon confuses him - what is a moon, again? - but he takes it to mean that he shouldn't annoy this head of security. "I'm not sure if I'd like working with a supercilious green boy...Is there an area specifically for engineering or science?" Kyle's been wondering about that since he was awake enough to not panic. This ship is self-contained, sort of like a base, right? And most bases have engineering labs. "I'm not sure if I could directly help us get out, but I may be able to help indirectly." In other words, he can't blow a hole through anything (by himself) or teleport.

"There is... sort of." Wednesday nods. "It's a bit of a makeshift, from what I've heard, but it works, apparently. Look for that green boy, he'll show you to it—there are others, but he's the most noticeable." His mouth quirks up.

"All I need is a table and some basic stuff. Thank you for the directions." Kyle looks once again at the group of serious-faced people. "What was that loud thump, earlier? And who are they?" he nods towards the newly-returned away team.
