Queries and Quibbles--mind your Q's

[ooc: Read this bit.]

Something happens outside the ship. There's a concussive noise like something docking, and then the doors to Obs open again, to reveal a mostly intact, but somewhat bedraggled away team. One of them is injured, and part of the group works to get her down to MedBay, some of the others look stoic and a touch upset with what they've learned.

Some look pissed off that their various morphers and power suits have been stolen away from them again by Stacy's tentacles or dampened.

Something happens INSIDE the ship. A handful of individuals are released from their pods after quite some time of running imaginary mazes.

"So you're Captain in title only," Lois replies. "Multidimensional organic starships aren't a part of my standard work day, but I've grasped that much."

She isn't sure if he's the real deal or just a Trekkie with Patrick Stewart's looks.

"How long have people been here?"

"I'm not quite sure. I was hardly elected as commander of this vessel before we were sent on a mission planet-side."

She folds her arms.

"You were elected just before this mission and you know enough to lead all these people?"

Not buying it.

Well, that cynicism was refreshingly amusing. "I was introduced to the senior crew, and they in turn know the crew here already. I'm hoping to take this reprieve and familiarize myself with the current crew, as well as see about getting real answers."

"Is the senior crew any more experienced or capable of leading than you are, or were you elected because the Picard thing? Just so I can verify that I've seriously done a number on my skull this time, are you actually the guy from Star Trek?"

"Star Trek?" Picard replied, uncertain of how to reply.

"... the television show?"

Either this is one delusional, overzealous Trekkie or this guy doesn't know Lois and millions of others have caught him once or twice on the television, likely while flipping through the channels between reviewing articles and eating ice cream right from the carton.

"I had been told that the exploits of my crew were a fictional story in other realities, but not the title," Picard replied. "To answer, however, I am indeed Jean-Luc Picard."

"Oh. Well, now you know." Lois smiles. "I guess I can accept that if Smallville can fly in other dimensions, then fictional characters could be real."

"Moving right on. Any leads on how we're getting out of this place, or are we at a standstill?"

"Progress was slow, but is currently moving much more quickly at this time. We found things on the surface of the planet that raised more questions. The right questions. If you want to know more, I can defer you to Engineering."

"Good," Lois says, "What did you find on the surface that had to do with this place? Does it normally dock on different worlds, that you know of?"

"The Observation Deck seems capable of separating from the ship itself, somewhat similar to the saucer section of the Enterprise D, or the captain's yacht on the Enterprise E. We found ... we're not sure what we found. Mysteries wrapped in enigmas wrapped in riddles. They made us ask questions, however. Hopefully? The right ones."

"Haven't watched more than a few episodes and seen promos for that movie that just came out –– looks good, by the way –– but I'll take your word for it."

She raises an eyebrow and pushes.

"So what does an enigmatic riddle-wrapped mystery LOOK like this these parts?"

"It looks like several of those pods, save for the fact that we do not know who or what was in them," he replied.
