Halloween Party

Who knows why the ship was doing this. Maybe it was some kind of social experiment. Maybe Stacy was feeling festive and somewhere, out there, it was Halloween. Maybe the players just wanted to have Halloween fun. No one would ever know, would they.

In any case, what better place for a Halloween dance than a graveyard? In an area in the center, clear of headstones, there was a dance floor, and there were seats and tables with skeletal frames. Somehow grisly carved torches and jack-o-lanterns of varying sizes and shapes, cast enough eerie light to light up the place, despite the fact it was night. There were places to bob for apples, popcorn balls on strings strung up for people to try to eat for games involving that. The food tables will full of Halloweeny snacks and candy.

Far off, there was a haunted house, decrepit and foreboding. It seemed people could look into it if they dared sent down the dark trail to where it was. [ooc: Haunted house post link forthcoming].

Creepy--but danceable music was playing, from nowhere.

Perhaps most notable was the fact that the moment someone entered the Sensorium, they would find themselves in a costume. Sometimes these costumes would be what the character themselves would choose, but sometimes they'd be dressed as something strange, embarrassing, or just something they wouldn't even recognize. Leaving and coming back wouldn't fix the problem, in most cases. The costumes wouldn't change, and if they did, it wasn't guaranteed that they'd change to something better.

Whatever the case, party hard, Meatship. Somebody's got to teach the Vikings, draconians, aliens, and other sundry people to Thriller dance.

Lash shrugged. "I honestly have no idea. Maybe a special agent of some sort?" She looked down at the exposed midriff, the knuckle hand things and the rather unique tie-stuck-in-boobs getup. And the heels! "Then again no agent would want to wear these..." she clicked her heels, trying not to trip over too much, "...and be seen in public." Then again there were people like Nell. But at least she wore a full outfit in addition to her heels.

At least she's used to having a bare midriff with her own outfit, though that likewise sucks for protection in that regard. And sorry, Jamie, but she did try to hold her own laughter back? It just didn't work out too well

Kate remarked as the giggles finally died away, "Oh it's definitely a superhero outfit, that's obvious. Kind of reminds me of Mockingbird, especially the mask since I wore one like it early on. But I think this one's from that other world maybe with Kon, Paco, Jaime, Nightwing, Starfire, Beastboy, and others."

His glance flicks back to Lash, and Jamie studies the outfit for a moment - although he politely avoids looking at the tie. She's got a point about it, and he nods. "I would think ye would want to blend in if ye were an agent, which I'd not sure ye could in that. Those yellow goggle-things are a wee bit distinctive."

He can't blame either of them for laughing at his outfit, really, as he knows he might very well have done so himself if it was on anyone else. Maybe that's the whole reason Stacy is dressing people up like that, to embarrass them? But...Kate's reaction seems to indicate her costume is fairly normal in her universe, and he's a little curious about that. "Do superheros always dress like that, Kate?"

Kate then explained, "Well not exactly like this maybe? But some women heroes? Yes. I mean, my own outfit has a top similar to this one. But I have leggings and boots with mine. Not this leotard set up."

"Seriously?" Lash can't help but laugh again. "I'm sorry it's just...it seems so...impractical."

"It doesn't seem so bad to me," muses Jamie. "Why would ye say that it's impractical? I've not got superheroes in my world, but I've seen outfits that look a wee bit like that in a few places."

He's even seen ones with shorts just about that length, too. "People seemed to be perfectly fine with wearing them."

"I guess..." she trailed off. "In my world, we tended to wear our country's colors as its Commanding Officers. But high heels? Do you really want to give out orders to an army wearing then of going to a battle with them? You'll trip and wall waaaaay easier!"

"Well, no," Jamie admits. "I'd not care to wear them at all." He is very pointedly not looking at his feet, which just so happen to be clad in black patent leather boots with something resembling a short heel. They're also cut into points in top, but it's no more ridiculous than the rest of the outfit.

"Yeah me neither," Lash agreed. "I guess for tonight we don't have a choice however, huh? Teehee! I guess we make the most of it. Or something."
