Halloween Party
Who knows why the ship was doing this. Maybe it was some kind of social experiment. Maybe Stacy was feeling festive and somewhere, out there, it was Halloween. Maybe the players just wanted to have Halloween fun. No one would ever know, would they.
In any case, what better place for a Halloween dance than a graveyard? In an area in the center, clear of headstones, there was a dance floor, and there were seats and tables with skeletal frames. Somehow grisly carved torches and jack-o-lanterns of varying sizes and shapes, cast enough eerie light to light up the place, despite the fact it was night. There were places to bob for apples, popcorn balls on strings strung up for people to try to eat for games involving that. The food tables will full of Halloweeny snacks and candy.
Far off, there was a haunted house, decrepit and foreboding. It seemed people could look into it if they dared sent down the dark trail to where it was. [ooc: Haunted house post link forthcoming].
Creepy--but danceable music was playing, from nowhere.
Perhaps most notable was the fact that the moment someone entered the Sensorium, they would find themselves in a costume. Sometimes these costumes would be what the character themselves would choose, but sometimes they'd be dressed as something strange, embarrassing, or just something they wouldn't even recognize. Leaving and coming back wouldn't fix the problem, in most cases. The costumes wouldn't change, and if they did, it wasn't guaranteed that they'd change to something better.
Whatever the case, party hard, Meatship. Somebody's got to teach the Vikings, draconians, aliens, and other sundry people to Thriller dance.

Re: Costumes
"Kate? Are you all right?"
Re: Costumes
"...well I guess I shouldn't complain now." At least she had pants.
Re: Costumes
Whoa, Lash, when did you get here? Billy blinked at her, then took in the costume. Wow, Stacy wasn't being kind to them today---but they were both very pretty. Should he say that and risk getting into trouble?
He settled for a shy smile. "I guess the ship's goal is to embarrass us today. It looks like we'll have to play by her rules if we want to stay," he sighed.
Re: Costumes
"That's so short. And well she succeeded on the embarrassing."
Re: Costumes
Re: Costumes
"Borrow. I mean...borrow. For a prolongated amount of time."
Re: Costumes
Billy looked down at his own costume, seeing if there was anything he could offer. The odd plate that covered his stomach? No, it was molded too tightly and hardly the right shape.
They could ask for the sheet, but it wasn't beyond the realm of possibility for the ship to take it away. "I don't know if the Sensorium will allow that, but it's worth a try."
He knew how uncomfortable it had to be. It wasn't right.
Re: Costumes
Kate replied, "I think I'm ok now with this. Better than how it was. I mean there's a reason my outfit included leggings, and even those Ranger suits cover much more than this."
Re: Costumes
stealingborrowing going on that night, but perhaps it was for the best."At least it looks pretty neat?" she offered, pushing up her own yellow glasses. "The four hundred pounds of hair they added to mine feels like my face is just going to peel off at any second."

He sighed, pulling on his gloves. "I'm just hoping this is the worst of what Stacy has in mind for us."

"This sucks. I guess we'll have to make the most of it."
Re: Costumes
"Kate? Is everything alright?"
Re: Costumes
"Yeah, I'm fine, just Stacy surprised me a little with this. It's really short." She was now trying to tie the cape around her waist as a skirt.
Re: Costumes
Then again, her teeheehee laughter was pretty unique. Sorry Jamie. That costume was...something else.

"She seems to be very fond of that tonight," he replies, quite glad that there's at least bottoms along with the space-suit - even if they're short too. "I'd not say yours is so bad, though - either of yours." Yes, you too, tee-hee girl.
"Maybe Stacy'll give ye something longer if ye ask for it, though?"

"It's not so bad for it, I don't think. The cape might get in the way, but ye could ye it as a distraction if ye needed to." It occurs to him that the exposed midriff doesn't seem to have much in the way of any actual protection, but he can't say as he minds the effect. Much better than his...whatever this is.
"Do either of ye know what you're supposed to be, though?"

Kate remarked as the giggles finally died away, "Oh it's definitely a superhero outfit, that's obvious. Kind of reminds me of Mockingbird, especially the mask since I wore one like it early on. But I think this one's from that other world maybe with Kon, Paco, Jaime, Nightwing, Starfire, Beastboy, and others."

He can't blame either of them for laughing at his outfit, really, as he knows he might very well have done so himself if it was on anyone else. Maybe that's the whole reason Stacy is dressing people up like that, to embarrass them? But...Kate's reaction seems to indicate her costume is fairly normal in her universe, and he's a little curious about that. "Do superheros always dress like that, Kate?"
