Halloween Party

Who knows why the ship was doing this. Maybe it was some kind of social experiment. Maybe Stacy was feeling festive and somewhere, out there, it was Halloween. Maybe the players just wanted to have Halloween fun. No one would ever know, would they.

In any case, what better place for a Halloween dance than a graveyard? In an area in the center, clear of headstones, there was a dance floor, and there were seats and tables with skeletal frames. Somehow grisly carved torches and jack-o-lanterns of varying sizes and shapes, cast enough eerie light to light up the place, despite the fact it was night. There were places to bob for apples, popcorn balls on strings strung up for people to try to eat for games involving that. The food tables will full of Halloweeny snacks and candy.

Far off, there was a haunted house, decrepit and foreboding. It seemed people could look into it if they dared sent down the dark trail to where it was. [ooc: Haunted house post link forthcoming].

Creepy--but danceable music was playing, from nowhere.

Perhaps most notable was the fact that the moment someone entered the Sensorium, they would find themselves in a costume. Sometimes these costumes would be what the character themselves would choose, but sometimes they'd be dressed as something strange, embarrassing, or just something they wouldn't even recognize. Leaving and coming back wouldn't fix the problem, in most cases. The costumes wouldn't change, and if they did, it wasn't guaranteed that they'd change to something better.

Whatever the case, party hard, Meatship. Somebody's got to teach the Vikings, draconians, aliens, and other sundry people to Thriller dance.

As soon as Kang stepped through the door, his usual armor changed to armor and robes of a different sort. Confused, he looked down at the cloth, "...well, I suppose it could be something worse."

"Hey, Kang!"

Walking up to him and waving a gun-held hand, Jr., dressed as a cowboy (http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h236/cfudyzak/t9/917836c6.jpg) looked pretty comfortable in the outfit.

Shaking his head, Kang took the helmet off, "...your choice, or something Stacy forced on you?"

"Well I wasn't expecting it when I came in! Buuuuut, yeah, I guess this is something I would choose."

"I wasn't expecting a costume, either, but it's tolerable," Kang shrugged. "I'm not sure exactly what I'm supposed to be, though."

Laughing, Kang thumped one of the bracers, "Makes me wonder what my mate would think of it. And, what she'd be forced into."

"Your mate?"

The way he spoke about her, Jr. could have ventured a guess, but...

"She's not here?"

A small pause. That probably wasn't the best way to word that, considering.

"I mean, didn't wake up yet?"

Kang shook his head, smiling slightly at the flub and the correction, "No, she hasn't woken up yet. Neither have our children."

Both of Jr.'s eyebrows went up at that.

"Woah ... you've got kids, too?"

Kang blinked, and then he began to laugh. "Why is everyone so surprised when they hear that I have children?"

"Well, I can't speak for everyone else. But even though I haven't known ya for too long, I haven't heard about'em until now!"

Jr. stepped back, sitting on one of the headstones. "How old are they?"

"I suppose I just don't seem like the type of person that would," Kang shrugged. He could understand why; six years ago, he never would have believed he'd even get the chance. "They're about a month old."

Toothless was sure this was something he should have been laughing at, so as he approached from behind Kang there was a funny sort of hissing sound that was at least somewhat recognizable as laughter. The Spartan outfit wasn't quite as bad as Hiccup's skirt and bows, but it was still amusing.

Though, Toothless also hadn't noticed the crescent moon on his forehead yet.

"I'd look in a mirror before I started laughing too much at anyone else," Kang quirked an eyebrow ridge at Toothless. "I'm not the only one that was forced into a costume."

The sound that left the dragon's throat was not unlike that of tires screeching to a halt, and he looked slightly mortified. He had no mirror to look at himself with, and there didn't appear to be any water nearby that he could use. So he did the next best thing!

He went cross-eyed trying to look at his own forehead.
governorkang: (Now that's funny / Smirking)

[personal profile] governorkang 2010-10-30 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
Laughing, Kang thought up a handheld mirror and held it up so that Toothless could see. "It's really not that bad. I have no idea what you're supposed to be, though."

[identity profile] hasnoteefs.livejournal.com 2010-10-30 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
The dragon's eyes went wide at the mirror and he tilted his head kind of funny at it. What in the name of Thor's Beard, he had a moon on his forehead. And it was yellow and glittery and-- get it off.

He flopped onto his stomach on the ground, drawing his forelegs up over his head and pawing at the mark. It wasn't going anywhere, but he was certainly trying to make it go away.

"I really don't think that's going to work," Kang continued to laugh, hard enough that his wingtips shook. "You're stuck with it until you leave this room."

iconic portrayal is disproportionate to sadness of dragon.

[identity profile] hasnoteefs.livejournal.com 2010-10-30 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Toothless just grunted irritably at Kang for a moment, then covered the mark with his clawed feet and let them sit there, sulking. When he moved them a few moments later, the moon was still just as bright and just as glittery.

The dragon sulked some more.
governorkang: (Looking up)

No icon can do it justice.

[personal profile] governorkang 2010-11-01 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Kang had never seen a dragon sulk before, and the sight was hilarious. He managed to get control of himself, though, and knelt down next to Toothless, scritching his neck. "Really, it isn't too bad. There are worse costumes."

I kind of want to try drawing it-- forelegs over his face and just, /suuuuulk

[identity profile] hasnoteefs.livejournal.com 2010-11-01 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
Setting his feet back over the moon with what could easily be described as a mortified whine, Toothless watched Kang approach warily. When the draconian merely knelt and started to scritch Toothless' neck, the Night Fury eased up and let his feet fall back to the ground, closing his eyes over and crooning happily. Okay, okay...

At least he wasn't in a skirt.
governorkang: (Having fun)

omg do it

[personal profile] governorkang 2010-11-01 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm guessing that Hiccup is here, if you are," Kang continued with the scritches, amused at how easy it was to mollify Toothless. "Astrid too, probably."

eventually XD

[identity profile] hasnoteefs.livejournal.com 2010-11-01 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Toothless chirruped affirmatively through his purring, nodding vaguely. Yes, Hiccup was here. And disgruntled and in a skirt and looking rather hilarious, and honestly Toothless was somewhat glad he wasn't present right then because that skirt was very short and Toothless would have been given a bird's eye view of something he really wasn't keen on seeing, thank you very much. Astrid... was around, Toothless was sure. And she would probably make relentless amounts of fun of Hiccup when she found him. So it may have been better that Toothless was over here. Getting scritches. Oh yes. Scritchesss.

[personal profile] governorkang 2010-11-01 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
All Kang got from that chirrup was that yes, Hiccup and Astrid were there. Somewhere. He was going to have to find them, see what costumes they'd been forced into (and tease them, of course, if their costumes were silly enough). "You know where they are?"
