It was going to be their second meeting, and she already had an idea from Beastboy that he'd drummed up some interest in some the newly pod popped. So she'd been making alterations to the Outsider headquarters all day, from checking out the intercom and monitors Billy fixed (she needed Alex's help for that) to helping to set the new carpet in the lobby to preparing the pool for the training session. It was absolutely important that today grow well: she was going to tell the group she was trying to petition Leon to get them more involved in missions. Even if he said no, there were chances that they as individuals would be pulled into some dangerous situation and then all that training WOULD come in handy, wouldn't it? Either way the training would be coming in handy, as would meeting the people that would come to the second meeting. In a way, the second meeting was more important than the first: the second told you who was staying, who hadn't just popped in for the snacks and a few laughs. She still had those of course: chips and dip and a few sandwiches were already set up for people who were hungry.

As for her, all of this work had already made her really sweaty and stinky, so she was taking a dip in the pool to clean herself off, careful to only do so in the shallow part of the water reserved for small kids: once she was good and clean, she would flush that water out, and fill it with clean water again. For now, she wanted to make sure everything went perfectly. Of course, she was also nude for this, so she figured if Beastboy dropped in now, she'd have to dry off pretty quickly.

So far though: room were all clean, conference room was a-okay and the lobby was spotless. For the moment she could relax. She'd be ready in a few minutes.

Spot leaps up, putting his paws on Fletcher's knees and licking his cheek.

He does indeed smell another pup upon the young boy.

Laurie smiles. "He likes you."

Fletcher laughs and pats him on his head. "What's his name? He's really cute."

"His name's Spot." Laurie looks down at her puppy, watching him jump up and down. "I think he wants you to hold him."

So Fletcher does. He picks Spot up in his arms and looks down at him, then stands back up, making sure to keep a good hold on him.

"Oh-- I'm Fletcher. It's nice to meet you!"

Laurie assumes that Fletcher is talking to her, so she says, "I'm Laurie. It's nice to meet you, too."

She reaches up and moves back a blonde strand of hair to behind her ear. "Are you an Outsider as well?"

He was sort of talking to both of them, so that works.

He nods. "I guess. I'm kind of new, though." And then, "I mean, not new on the ship but new in the group."

"Welcome to the team, then," she puts out her hand.

Fletcher extends his hand in return, but in doing so loses his grip on Spot, who slips out of his arms to the floor. "Ah-- sorry!" Fletcher does his best to keep the poor puppy from crashing onto the floor, but he's not fast enough.

Spot lands with ease, body close down to the floor. He looks up at Fletcher curiously.

"He always does that." Laurie says. "Don't worry."

Fletcher laughs nervously, looking down at Spot. "That's good... Sorry, boy. I'll be more careful next time."

And then he takes Laurie's hand to shake it.

Laurie shakes his hand. "He's a drama queen. He tried the same thing on me when I first got him." She gives Spot a look.

"Oh, I see. Jujube never tried anything like that on me," Fletcher mused.

"So, um," he said, "Are you any good at fighting?"

"He's tricky," Laurie sighs. Spot raises his head a little as if it is a compliment.

She blinks at this question. "No...not really."

"Oh," he said. So it wasn't just him! That was good. "Neither am I, so..."

Laurie nods her head. "Katara and Beastboy will be offering many chances for training."
