The Outsiders: Meeting 2

It was going to be their second meeting, and she already had an idea from Beastboy that he'd drummed up some interest in some the newly pod popped. So she'd been making alterations to the Outsider headquarters all day, from checking out the intercom and monitors Billy fixed (she needed Alex's help for that) to helping to set the new carpet in the lobby to preparing the pool for the training session. It was absolutely important that today grow well: she was going to tell the group she was trying to petition Leon to get them more involved in missions. Even if he said no, there were chances that they as individuals would be pulled into some dangerous situation and then all that training WOULD come in handy, wouldn't it? Either way the training would be coming in handy, as would meeting the people that would come to the second meeting. In a way, the second meeting was more important than the first: the second told you who was staying, who hadn't just popped in for the snacks and a few laughs. She still had those of course: chips and dip and a few sandwiches were already set up for people who were hungry.

As for her, all of this work had already made her really sweaty and stinky, so she was taking a dip in the pool to clean herself off, careful to only do so in the shallow part of the water reserved for small kids: once she was good and clean, she would flush that water out, and fill it with clean water again. For now, she wanted to make sure everything went perfectly. Of course, she was also nude for this, so she figured if Beastboy dropped in now, she'd have to dry off pretty quickly.

So far though: room were all clean, conference room was a-okay and the lobby was spotless. For the moment she could relax. She'd be ready in a few minutes.

"Cool hair!" Beastboy appeared on the other side of the table refilling the punch bowl like a good host, "I had a friend with hair like that back home!" He remarked with a wink.

"It does what I need it to," Hit girl replied. "I heard about this place, so I thought I'd come and see what the meetings are all about. You sure got a lot of different kind of people around here."

She eyed Alex but was definitely not speaking ill of Vita. There was definitely something of a fire in her. Hit girl respected that.

"It takes all sorts!" Beastboy commented pouring himself a cup, "The trick is to learn to rely on one another and trust one another. That's where things get complicated but it's worth it if it works."

"That is a hard thing to ask," Hit girl said. "You have to assume that we all are getting along. I really have to wonder how that can be if all of our abilities are different."

But it was something, that much was clear. A LOT better than what she'd been dealing with so far.

"We had to deal with the same thing on the Titans, in fact when we first met most the team couldn't stand one another. The only thing that brought us together was a big bad alien threat that was gonna blow up our planet."

"Well let's hope we score one for mutual hatred," hit girl replied, "otherwise its a waste of time. Still, good to see there are some people on the ship who have the right concept. It makes me hope we might not actually be walking around with our heads up our asses."

"Oh some of us totally still do." He joked, "But never underestimate the geeks, freaks and losers of the world. We're the ones with nothing to lose when it all falls apart."

"I'll bet," Hit girl said, pretty certain she feel under the "freak" category. "So which training part are YOU doing?"

"Oh I'm just doing the middle level stuff you know? For people who know a thing or two but don't wanna jump right into the deep end? I had some cool ideas involving Halloween monsters." He winked.

"Hmm," Hit girl said. "That's not quite my style, but I'm sure some of other people will be all into that. My idea of training is a little more intense. In my world...you can't really have too much down time."

Beastboy gave her a thumbs up, "I had a feeling you'd be into the more hardcore stuff. You're more like Robin anyway."

He took a glance out at the crowd with a sigh, "Everything's different these days, I'm just doing what I know ya know?"

"I need to be where the action is, that's how I work," Hit girl said simply. "I'll have plenty of time to hang out only after I know that I haven't gotten rusty."

She snickered. "There's not a Robin on this ship, is there?"

"Well..." He winked, "We've got a Nightwing but he's not from my universe. I'm sure we could get you an autograph though...or a sparring match." He teased.

Oh, that was pretty sweet. "Yeah, he's a secret Beastboy: I'm not the type of girl that's going to going around asking for autographs. I can pretty much guarantee that."

She grinned. "But the sparring match? I'm there."

"That part was a joke" He laughed as he usually did at his own humor, "After all why get his autograph when you could have mine." He wiggled his ears playfully.

"Something tells me you'll have sparred with everyone on board just to find a challenge before we have our next run in with the OHM." That part was meant to be a compliment really.

Hit Girl snickered. "You're the type that would probably love groupies, Beastboy." She hardly minded though: he was just kidding. She didn't even feel like punching or cursing at him.

"No doubt. I have a lot of fucking jousting to do. If I'm gonna get better on a ship of supers, I'm gonna be expected hold my own." She flexed her fingers. "Not that I'm complaining."

"With an attitude like that? You'll do great." Beastboy promised. "I bet you'll be all like, "Pow" and "Bam" and "Wham!"
