As luck would have it, several minutes later, here came the pair in question. Hand in hand, bags over their shoulders, they seemed quite purposeful in their walk toward the ship. So purposeful in fact, that they seemed to have completely missed their friend.

That wouldn't be for long however, would it? The archer wasn't going to simply let them pass, was she? Oh no, why, that wouldn't be very teenager-y of her at all.

Kate cleared her throat.

"So... have a good time did we?" She arched her eyebrow at them and smirked.

Cassie's cheeks immediately turned a dark red. "We uh- well it is shore leave." She looked over at her friend. "Like you and Plays haven't been doing the same thing." ...Right?

Kate looked briefly nervous and uncomfortable before covering it up. After all, that concerned personal things her friends had no way of knowing.

"Um, sure. But we're discreet about it."

Nate pulled a face, running a hand through his hair, a habit he'd begun to exhibit when he was uncomfortable, he noticed. He'd have to check that. At Kate's next protest though, he shrugged.

"We didn't beg Stacy to make that announcement." What? An hour wasn't too much to ask for, was it? What was the big rush?

"Yeah but it's Stacy. Not like you can really hide things from her. And now everybody knows."

"You know that if I had ANY idea she was going to make that announcement I never would have." She couldn't hide her guilt at everyone knowing, or rather a certain someone knowing. "At all."

Kate reached out to place a hand on Cassie's shoulder, "I know, Cassie. I'm sure it'll blow over soon. Just expect some odd looks. Though any smart ass remarks, and I'll risk a violation to set them straight."

"It wasn't exactly planned." Nate sighed, resisting the urge to work an imaginary kink out of his neck. At Kate's word though, he couldn't help a small smile. Yeah, that sounded just like her. "I can deal with it, Kate. No need for you to get involved in our messes."

"Thanks but yeah, don't get yourself in trouble for me." She'd made her bed, now she would have to sleep in it... That euphemism was more appropriate than usual for this subject.

"Yeah, but you're my friends. As long the others behave, it should be cool. Though if Julian even breathes wrong near either of you, he's definitely getting his butt kicked."
