Shore Leave Part 3: The Return Of Stacy

Down on the surface of the planet Zokez II, Stacy's erstwhile (and hopefully much more relaxed) crew began receiving messages over their comm rings and omnicoms.

Hey, nothing traitorous about it now. Cassie had broken up with Jonas and everything. Never mind the fact that she had been making out with Nate while she was still with Jonas, that was beside the point.

"This is Stacy we're talking about." She looked frantically about for- oh, O.K. so she had been wearing her dress last. But better put on the plantsuit just in case. "It'll probably take at least an hour to get everything together and go over- mmmm." Despite herself, she couldn't resist leaning back into Nate's arms. "We really shouldn't."

Well, there was that. But Nate got the feeling that that fact was a small consolation to his 'brother.' He really needed to go and see him soon. He'd just have to make sure that his armor was on...yeah. That would probably be the smart thing to do.

"She's never been anything but logical before. Giving us ample time to get ready is logical." Yes she had been wearing her dress. Nate remembered quite vividly getting it off after all. But that was a thought for another time. Preferably a cold shower time. "Not if we get it all together real fast. I can help you pack if you like." He smiled against her skin, pressing a kiss to her jaw. "Packing's pretty important, huh?"

"Well..." Cassie wavered. "I guess if we pack first. How much did you buy here?" Fortunately most of her new toys purchases were bundled away safely. She just needed to make sure everything was in its place. She'd hate to accidentally leave anything behind.

"Not much. Just wiring and a couple other materials I needed. It's all packed, I just need to throw my clothes in with them." It was times like this that it was easy to remember he was a boy. Really, who needed different bags for different things? Just throw all the wiring and tools in the same bag as clothes, what was the big deal?

"You're sure the wires aren't going to get tangled and messed up, right?" Cassie packed her dress away and did a count of everything she'd bought. All there. Good. She grabbed her plantsuit but didn't put it on just yet. She looked over her shoulder at Nate. "What are you working on anyway?"

"Yeah, no sweat. And even if they do, I can straighten them out later." On the other side of the room, one of the blankets wrapped around his waist, Nate was chucking his clothes rather unceremoniously into his bag, leaving just one set out for later use. At Cassie's question though, he looked over his shoulder at her, grinning. "Upgrades."

Now done, Cassie shifted over to give Nate a better look at her. "Upgrades for what?" Her voice was as playful as the look she was giving him.

Sorry Cassie, as super-smart as he was, even Nate wasn't quite immune to boy disease. The combination of her turning, and that look on her face forced his brain to completely disengage for a moment. A second later however, the lights seemed to snap back on and he refocused his gaze on her face. "Uh...you know, the armor. And...stuff."

"Ahh." That made sense. And she was trying not to laugh at his reaction to her turning. "I'm done packing. Are you?"

"It wasn't his fault that the girl he was with was completely gorgeous. In or out of her clothes. Though the fact that she was... minimally dressed at the moment went a long way to emphasizing just how gorgeous. He did a quick, last run-through of his things, throwing the last items into his bag and zipping it quickly closed. "All done. In record time, too."

"Well, now that's taken care of..." She started crawling closer.

||Attention, crew,|| Stacy's voice rings out once again across the comm rings. ||Your fellow crew mates Cassandra Lang and Nathaniel Richards are currently holding up plans to depart because they are having trouble keeping their hormones and amorous intents at bay. So now if they get left behind, you all know why.||

"What the fu-" There was a moment's pause. A long moment's pause as Nate simply stared wide-eyed at the ceiling. Then, here Stacy, have some very loud cursing in your general direction. "You can't even give us five minutes?! Come on! What the hell, Stacy?!"

Yeah. People should generally wear clothes before flailing begins.

And Cassie just turned a bright, bright red. "You did not just... Oh my God." Jonas was going to be devastated.

She turned away from Nate and began to slip her plantsuit on. "Stupidstupidstupid..."

Having exhausted his repertoire of cursewords, he turned his attention back to Cassie who had already begun dressing. Frowning, he walked over behind her, laying a hand gently on her shoulder, the other hand holding the sheet in place. "Cass? ...You okay?"

"Oh yeah, great." Cassie finished getting her plantsuit on and began raking a hand through her hair in an attempt to get it looking somewhat passable. "Stacy just shouted out what we were doing for everyone to hear including my ex boyfriend who I feel like shit for breaking up with and and haven't seen since I did it. So yeah, why wouldn't I be O.K."

Oh. So that was. Damn, he'd almost forgotten about Jonas. "He- I was-." Nodding silently, he turned back to his side of the room and began sliding into his clothes. There really wasn't anything he could think of to say to that. He'd known she'd left him yes. He knew the sort of guilt that could bring on. But he thought- It didn't matter. He'd obviously been wrong.

With his jeans on, he slid into his shirt before turning back to face her. Grabbing the handle of his bag, he offered her his free hand. "We'll deal with it together... okay?"

Cassie took his hand and gave it a squeeze. "Yeah, I know. Look, I don't regret this." Yet. "I just- didn't want everyone and their mother to find out- yeah, we'll deal with it."

Pulling her just close enough, he leaned down, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "I love you, Cassie. I don't really care if everyone knows it. That's all I've got to say about that. Whatever comes up, I'll be here with you."

"I love you too." She gave him a quick kiss on the lips before pulling away. "Now come on. It's time to face the music." Before Stacy said anything even more embarrassing.

Nanashi laughed loudly. "Hormones and amorous intents? I'd like to get in on some of that!"

Jonas, who had already been moving toward the pick up site, froze in the middle of the street and almost caused a pile up of pedestrians in the crossing zone.

Well, that was certainly a fantastic way to end his vacation.
