Shopping for Food [Very Open]

Matt was many things, and budgeting finances was one of them. As such, he found the local equivalent of a No Frills after some searching and had sent people on a mission. Specifically to pick up what they needed, be it clothing, supplies both personal and regular, and devoted a small chunk of money they all set aside to food. Mostly a canned supply, but whatever they wanted personally had to be carefully sorted out.

Matt was determined to make their money last, and he was pushing a cart after calculating the cost mentally. "Not bad. This is about a quarter of the money from my own stock."

He was whistling as he turned onto the local equivalent of a dairy asile. Seriously, it was more like a No Frills combined with a Walmart, the store was so huge and incredibly cheap. It was obviously the go-to building for warehouse level clearance.

(ooc: anyone is allowed to post and mingle! This is primarily for food and personal items rather than the clothing store.)

Fletcher had left Russel to do his own thing, hang out on the beach or something equally relaxing. He deserved it after all this time, after all. Fletcher had taken it upon himself to go shopping for some real food, something they could eat that wasn't just the goop Stacy made.

He was pushing a cart, though his chin barely poked up above the handlebar, carefully calculating the cost of each item he selected; he wasn't a budgeting whiz, but he was well versed in the concept of equivalent exchange, and paying money for goods fell into that area.

Consulting a list he'd put together with Russel's help, he went over what he'd gotten so far -- some cereal, bread, pasta... was there a way to cook pasta on the ship? Oh well, if nothing else they could use the science labs. Something to go on it would be nice, though, but it would have to be non-perishable, and preservatives weren't exactly well-known in his time period. So it was that Fletcher was holding a container of grated parmesan cheese, regarding it suspiciously.

"Ooh. Parmesan. That should last a pretty long time. Hard cheese generally do." Ron said, being an expert in all cheeses.

He picked up some cayenne pepper, tossing it into his cart. Stacy may have food stores, but they were seriously lacking in seasonings.

Hearing the voice, Fletcher looked up. He recognized the two men from the Obs Deck as they'd landed on the planet, but they'd never actually spoken. He smiled sheepishly.

"Is that what it is? I've never had this kind before. Is that why it doesn't have to stay cold?" Well, that was convenient, then. He didn't know whether there was anything suited for refrigeration anywhere on the ship.

"Ron Stoppable. I'm the guy with the naked mole rat."

Said naked mole rat was in Ron's cart, chowing down on a free cheese sample.

"I'm Fletcher Tringham, from the science department-- Naked mole rat?" Sticking the cheese into his cart, and grabbing a second can just in case, he looked over at Ron's cart, catching a site of... something rather small and ugly. What was that? "Um... you mean that?"

"Hey!" Rufus squeaked at Fletcher's comment.

"Also apparently smarter, given that everyone freaks out over him being able to talk." Ron answered.

"He can talk?!" Fletcher covered his mouth in surprise and moved closer to look. "Wow, really? Animals where I'm from can't... The multiverse is really cool."

"Little fuzzy blue guy, about yea high, lives in Hawaii, completely insane? I've met him."

That particular adventure had been all sorts of weird.

"Disney series?" Fletcher tilted his head. Then came that offer, and he grinned.

"Really? That's really nice of you! We'll be able to get a lot more stuff that way!" He grinned at the two of them.

Xander was on a special hunt. Basically for twinkies, chips, donuts. Or whatever was the local equivalent. Because he had been *craving* snack food for ages. He had enough maturity and practicality to get some real food.

It's just the balance was tipping more to the snack food, and hey, at least it's filled with so many preservatives that it'll last a long time on the ship.

Xander just quickly retrieved a large bag of chips that had fallen.

"No problem, man. Easily fixed."

"Yeah, I'm Xander, how's it going?" He grinned and shook his hand. "Just stocking up. Other than that Asian food spread, the chow has been seriously lacking on the Oooky Ship Stacy for a long time."

"The Bus? Oh yeah. I think I saw it around. Huh. And sure, just helping out with the collective food. And people need to discover the wonders that is snack food. You know how many people I had to explain chips and Twinkies too?"

"Me neither, and it's been months or at least a year since I had anything resembling some chocolatey goodness."

Xander nodded, "Oh yeah, I grabbed some clothes too." He's got slightly better from his loud shirt and shorts days. Slightly. His fashion sense is still decidedly a bit off the wall. He's just more subtle about it when he does it these days.
