Shop 'Till You Drop! [SO VERY OPEN]

It was nice to be out on solid ground, to breathe fresh and salt-tinged air, and to feel the real warmth of the sun on her neck and shoulders, Nanoha thought. She felt a very deep urge welling up within her breast to just take flight, to soar through an actual sky in the first time in months - and she had no doubt that she would.

But there were other things she had to take care of first. Like, for instance, swimsuit shopping with her best friend.

"Ooh, this store looks like it might have some cute ones!" Nanoha tugged on Fate's hand, pulling her towards one of the storefronts that lined this street of the bustling shopping district. Even if it didn't, there were still plenty of others to try, and plenty of cute outfits to convince Fate to try on.

"Hmm, maybe the month before I went back to working for Karrde." Mara said idly over looking at the fresh fish. "That was a nice vacation."

Luke put an arm around her shoulders, a silly grin on his face as he thought back to that particular month. "Yeah," he agreed. "That was a good break. No wars, no galactic crises, no insatiably hungry sons... just you and me."

Ben threw his arms up in an exaggerated shrug. "I'll take that as a cue to stock up on vegetables."

Luke just smiled and kissed Mara's forehead. "Why don't you go on ahead," he murmured in her ear. "I've got something back here I want to look at a little closer."

Mara nodded, smiling fondly. "Okay. Don't take too long or we'll end up with those twenty pounds of candy."

She pointed to the nearby candy stall. "Some of that is looking damn good."

Luke just smiled and watched his son and wife make their way through the stalls. Being a Jedi meant that you had to give the galaxy--or in this case, the multiverse--your life, and do what it demanded of you, and Luke could no more ignore that call than he could stop Tatooine's twin suns from setting. But now, it was good to have a breather, even if it felt like the deep breath before the dive.

But he had a piece of business to attend to, and as soon as Mara was out of sight he went back and got the necklace he'd been eying for her, and carefully tucked it away in his belt and finished up his part what was left on the list. He'd give it to Mara later when they had a moment alone.

When everything was paid for (taking up good chunks of their spending money), Luke blinked in the brighter outdoor light as he got back to their speeder and began loading things into it. "Once we're done loading all this up on the Shadow, I'm definitely looking forward to a swim."

"We'll have to get you something to swim in." Mara said over a box she shoved into the back of the speeder. "And me, of course."

She reached over and squeezed her husband's shoulder. "Let's get these back quickly."
