Shop 'Till You Drop! [SO VERY OPEN]

It was nice to be out on solid ground, to breathe fresh and salt-tinged air, and to feel the real warmth of the sun on her neck and shoulders, Nanoha thought. She felt a very deep urge welling up within her breast to just take flight, to soar through an actual sky in the first time in months - and she had no doubt that she would.

But there were other things she had to take care of first. Like, for instance, swimsuit shopping with her best friend.

"Ooh, this store looks like it might have some cute ones!" Nanoha tugged on Fate's hand, pulling her towards one of the storefronts that lined this street of the bustling shopping district. Even if it didn't, there were still plenty of others to try, and plenty of cute outfits to convince Fate to try on.

Kate considered that and nodded, "Not bad, would have liked to have heard you guys." She liked a variety of music. She knew a musician shouldn't limit themselves.

Jono nodded. Could always fix 'at. He liked hearing music. Even if it wasn't his normal type.

Would've liked fer you t' be able to. Unfortunately, we kin'a broke up when this 'appened. He waved his hand at the suiting up over his chin.

Kate nodded knowingly at that, she couldn't understand from personal experience. But what Teddy and Billy have dealt with.

"Right, and it's ok. At least got some of my teammates here. Still could find a way for another band maybe? I know it wouldn't be the same. Maybe ask around on the ship?"

He thought about that for a moment and nodded. Suppose it wouldn' hurt t' ask. Mos'ly jus' play with a band in the Sensoriums. A pause, then, In Wembly, a lotta the time.

Hey, he'd wanted to be a rock star. That was one of the things rock stars did.

"See there you go." She walked over to one of the instruments that looked pretty close to a cello, and asked one of the clerks for her to take a look at it. Good thing there was an area to test the instruments out.

It was a very good thing. Jono let her go first, though, looking through the instruments with an ear toward what she was doing. S'pose it's t' be expected 'at they don' really look much like what you'd get back on Earth.

Expected, sure. Didn't mean Jono didn't want a good old Fender, though.

"No, but as long as they sound the same way. Can at least adapt." This one seemed to have more strings than what she was used, and extra tuners. But hey, it looked pretty close. She found a spot she could sit down with a bow, and drew it across the strings a few times. Testing out the sound and the chords. Checking the tuning as well. She then played a few notes of a piece she remembered playing at the Interlochen camp.

Jono tilts his head at the sound, concentrating on just listening for a moment. Yer good.

Kate smiled back at that, "Thank you, but like I said, lots of practice." Still the talent was enough for the national arts camp to take interest in her in the first place. She also picked up her archery there.

She decided to go ahead and play a full piece, still adjusting for the extra chords.

"This is going to take a little getting used to. Harder to reach some of the chords."

Might be worth askin' if they got anythin' with fewer chords, he pointed out, looking at the wall again before picking out something that most closely resembled a guitar. At least, it was six-stringed and had the same basic shape.

"Maybe, it's got a nice feel and sound otherwise though." And she liked the challenge to adjust.

He nodded, pointing out the 'guitar' to one of the sales people. Once he had it in hand, he went to join Kate. Could you gimme a low e? Jono could tune by ear, but he usually tuned by the keyboard or another player.

Kate nodded, and adjusted her fingers for the note, and drew her bow across the string. She was tuning by ear as well.

Jono bent his head, looking at the strings and cursing. 'Ave t' restring the bloody thing if I get it, he said, turning the guitar over. It was right hand strung and Jono was left-handed. He could play the other way, though. Just not as well.

"Well they should have kits here for it, or ask the guy, maybe they can do it here for you?"

Mmm. It was a sound of agreement. Jono glanced up at her and nodded as he started working his way through the strings and adjusting them to get them tuned correctly.

She nodded and focused again playing. She was pretty sure she wanted this one. It had an intriguing sound to it with the extra strings.

It took a few minutes for Jono to get the tuning right. He'd done it so often with his own guitar back home that he was reasonably certain he had it right. Once he had it to where he was satisfied, he took a moment to listen to what Kate was doing again.
