||Pod Release Protocols Initating|| Stacy's familiar voice sounds out to all the podmates through the ship.

In the Pod Caverns, there are the sounds of: Pop. Pop pop pop. Poppuhpoppoppop. KASCHUNKhiiiiiiiissssss.

There is condensation and mist spraying out from cracks in the pods, as the people inside slide out onto the floors, covered in slime.

--

There was nothing. You were going about your normal life, then there was a bright light, and then? Nothing.

Then the world lurches.

The chamber here is humid.

Actually, "chamber" isn't quite accurate. You're in a cavern, half-lit by an eerie greenish light, going on and on as far as the eye can see. The light is coming from what can only be described as pods, glistening, round greenish-yellow things, glowing with a pale inner light, outlining human -- and not quite human -- forms. Each is rooted to the floor, to the walls, with something black, twisted, and unidentifiable.

They line the walls of the cavern, go up in maddeningly high columns, curling and corkscrewing up into the darkness, until the light from them is like that of the stars, glowing pale and mournful in clusters in the darkness above. Twisted walkways and stairs crisscross, traverse the platforms in front of the pods, wending their way back and forth, up and down through the chamber.

You just came from one of those pods, broke free like a butterfly from a (slimy, nasty) chrysalis.

Now you stand alone but not quite alone, naked, not knowing how you got there, who took you, or why you were taken.

As your body heats up again, you realize the air is warm -- just a few degrees too warm to be comfortable -- and muggy; it smells acrid and organic, like freshly spilt blood and sweat. Your mouth tastes of salt.

The floors are pulsing under your feet, throbbing...

Wherever you are, this entire place...is alive.

Oh, and also you're naked and covered in alien snot.

When you call out, ask where you are, a voice speaks to you, in your head. She tells you:

||You are here.||

When you ask who she is, she tells you that her name is STA'C K'LTRRB'TXFT, but that you may call her Stacy. When she tells you who she is, there is a gush of emotion, love, maternal warmth. You are on a ship. She is that ship. Her name is Stacy and she loves you. Her voice is warm and motherly, even if these messages sound almost automated.

Glowing phosphorescenet lights appear in pustules along the floor. They lead you up a massive spiraling walkway that gives you a view of what are possibly millions in stasis. At the top is a room with moving vines that clean you and clothe you in a plant-like body-suit--soft, but durable. After that, the lights lead you to a great cavernous room with a clear floor that lets you see all the holes and tunnels in the walls of it. When you reach the center, the last thing she tells you before whisking you away to gather your belongings and meet the rest of the crew is this reassuring thought:

||You have been Chosen to accomplish a Great Purpose. You have been Chosen to help fight the Ohm, a race of insectoid beings that are the destroyers of worlds.||

||You have been Chosen as champions of life, as protectors of the worlds and peoples that are left. The others are waiting for you. They will explain everything.||

She will tell you nothing more. Your answers lie with these "others" she speaks of.

Celena blinked to consciousness, shaking her head as she stood, taking in the strange new surroundings..then back at the large pod that had seemingly held her form. What was going on here? She'd been on her way back through the depths to her home...perhaps something had caught her on the way down?

No, this place felt different..if it were nearby where she had last been, she would have found it before. That telepathic message though did suggest something else..chosen to fight? Hmm well could prove interesting.

Arching her long neck to look over her slime covered form she sniffed the slime experimentally before drawing up a little bit of energy along with shaking her form not unlike a dog shaking its fur, the slime freeing itself from her form and being flung about the vicinity. Leaving her markings softly glowing now as the somewhat large dragon looked curiously about the place.

[identity profile] fierce-diplomat.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
She couldn't avoid splashed with more slime when one of the larger beings near her shook itself clean. Reyna wasn't sure if having more slime on her naked body was a good thing or a bad thing, but she was diverted from her musings by the sight of the being that had splashed her. Scaly like a Trandoshan but far less humanoid in form, Reyna was fascinated by it. She couldn't resist the urge to learn more about it and walked slowly over to greet it.

"Hello there," she said cautiously so as not to startle the magnificent creature. "I'm called Reyna. What do they call you?" She found herself oddly at ease around this strange being, probably because they were different enough in form that she didn't feel quite so self-conscious about wearing nothing but bits of sticky green goo.

At the voice of greetings Celena blinked and swung her head around to face the source before turning more fully toward her. Her gold eyes taking in the female's form, as well as the fact that she was naked bar the goop. Not that it bothered her, naturally not needing such things as clothes herself.

Dipping her head as she replied, "Greetings to you Reyna, I have gone by many names, but you may call me Celena," What may look like a light smile on the dragon's lips before going on, noting the extra goop on Reyna's form, "my apologies if I splashed you,"

[identity profile] fierce-diplomat.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 11:45 am (UTC)(link)
"It's nice to meet you Celena," she replied warmly. She'd never met such an unusual being before, and the joy of discovery temporarily overshadowed the unease of their current situation. Reyna's hand moved as if to touch Celena before being lowered back to her side. While she was curious to know what Celena's skin felt like, most cultures found it extremely rude to touch someone without at least asking first, so Reyna made an effort to restrain herself.

"It's quite alright," she said in response to Celena's apology. "It was obviously unintentional. You were only trying to clean yourself up, much as I myself would like to do." She chuckled softly. "But until I find some proper clothing a little extra goo is probably a good thing."

"May I ask where you're from?" she inquired politely. "I don't think I've ever seen your race in the Republic's census files..."

"A pleasure to meet you too Reyna," Celena replied warmly in return, a smile on her snout as she watched the other. Not moving away from the hand that reached out but was withdrawn. Stretching her wings and their red membranes wide briefly, before refolding them in against her sides.

Nodding at Rayna's response she gave a light chuckle in turn, "Indeed, though I can imagine it would not be the most comfortable thing in lieu of clothing," she shakes her head at that, smiling "I hope suitable clothing can be soon found for you, so you don't have to walk around in that goop,"

She gives a tilt of her head at the question, "I come from the world of Antara," She replies easily, processing the implications of Reyna's question, curious. "Hmm, Republic you say?"

[identity profile] fierce-diplomat.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Reyna's eyes briefly widened in wonder when Celena spread her magnificent wings. What a remarkable being! It was unfortunate that they were meeting under such unpleasant circumstances, but Reyna was grateful nonetheless.

"Thank you." She smiled at Celena's commiseration on her lack of clothing. "I must admit that I am quite looking forward to getting cleaned up and dressed." At least she hoped she would be able to do so, since most cultures covered their bodies in some way or another. Additionally, she couldn't fathom how she could serve as a Champion of Life and fight the Ohm stark naked! Thankfully the issue of clothing wasn't bothering her while she talked with Celana.

"Yes, where I come from most of the inhabited worlds in the known galaxy are members of the Republic, a representative body which governs by public mandate through the rule of law." The pride in Reyna's voice was evident as she spoke.

"I don't believe Antara is a member of the Republic though," she mused. "At the very least we've never discovered Antara and you've obviously never heard of us," she said with a small smile.

Celena dipped her head in acknowledgment of Reyna's thanks, a soft chuckle given at her comment replying in turn, "No doubt, perhaps the others that were mentioned have such things waiting, in addition to information to what this is all about," Her head swiveling to look toward the lights that lead to the large spiraling walkway in the distance.

Her attention brought back to the human rather quickly as she explained the nature of the Republic, noting the pride with which she spoke of it, "It sounds a magnificent thing indeed, many worlds connected by the one civilization," Great interest could be heard in the dragon's tone, interest more than peaked.

Shaking her head though as she went on, "Indeed not, the native societies on Antara are far from reaching space flight, let alone reaching other worlds," She did not seem unfamiliar with the concepts though.

[identity profile] fierce-diplomat.livejournal.com 2010-04-05 02:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"Thank you for the kind words. The Republic is only as good as its member worlds, but we are blessed to have a wide diversity of beings all devoted to peaceful co-existence, so I feel that it is not unreasonable to describe it as such." Her admiration for the Republic and the way it brought beings together was her primary reason for devoting herself to its service as a diplomat.

"I hope that someday our two peoples will meet, as I'm sure your race would make an invaluable addition to the Republic." She smiled at Celena and added, "Should you choose to join it of course. Membership in the Republic is neither required no coerced." Reyna could easily envision a delegation from Antara taking its place among the others in the Senate, their magnificent forms rivaling that of any of the other members.

That thought made Reyna's eyes wander over Celena's form once again, and this time she couldn't stop herself from reaching out to touch her skin. It felt wonderfully smooth and dry under her hand, supple near the joints and thicker along the planes of her neck and flank. She could feel it shift beneath her palm as Celena breathed, making for the most interesting sensations.

Realizing that she was taking liberties that she most definitely shouldn't, Reyna stepped back with an embarrassed blush on her cheeks. "Please forgive my impertinence," she apologized. "In most cultures what I just did would be considered quite rude, and I have no wish to offend you. My curiosity overrode my better judgment, and for that I apologize."

[personal profile] curiousredsoul 2010-04-06 02:23 pm (UTC)(link)
"You are most welcome. A peaceful co-existence of many species would not be a simple thing to achieve indeed, and only prove the merit of the Republic," A smile on Celena's snout at the clear admiration Reyna held for her Republic. The Linar made note to ask her as to it in greater depth once an opportune moment presented itself.

"As do I, perhaps someday they shall indeed. I am sure that my people would look highly upon such a society as your own," Celena would reply respectfully with a smile.

Falling silent, bar her breathing, she followed Reyna's motions with her calm gaze. Allowing the exploratory touch of her fingers over her form, shifting her wings to refold them a little as her tail swayed ever so lightly behind her.

An eyeridge raised as Reyna stood back suddenly, Celena dipping her head, "You have not offended me, you need not worry," Replying with the light rumble of a chuckle, "no harm, no foul," A hint of amusement in her eyes as she smiled, she knew all to well the ways of curiosity.

[identity profile] fierce-diplomat.livejournal.com 2010-04-06 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
She didn't quite understand the colloquialism that followed it, but Celena's assurance that she wasn't offended had Reyna breathing a sigh of relief. Celena seemed to be a highly intelligent and civilized being, but if angered Reyna felt sure Celena could tear her apart in a heartbeat.

"Thank you for being so understanding. Sometimes I quite literally can't stop myself when my curiosity is piqued." She gave Celena a shy smile. "And you are an extremely interesting being."

"Would you mind walking with me as I search for a place to get cleaned up and dressed? I seem to feel far less... exposed in your presence," Reyna shifted self-consciously as the subject of her rather public nudity came bubbling back to the surface of her mind.

Celena dipped her head at Reyna's thanks, replying with an amused smile, "You are welcome, I know well how curiosity can draw one to such things," A tilt of her head given at her words, "Indeed? I'm honored by your interest, perhaps if a more opportune moment arises, I would be happy to attempt to satisfy your curiosity in more detail," A smile on her snout as she offered as much.

"I would not mind it in the least, perhaps answers shall await both of us at such a place," She replied with a light nod and a smile, her gaze drawn over her relatively bare form at her mention, "I am grateful I can provide such ease of mind for you,"

"Hmm, if you wish I could provide a minor illusion, to better obscure your form from others, should you wish it while we walk," Celena offered, a small ripple of light moving along the markings of her form as if in meaning.

[identity profile] fierce-diplomat.livejournal.com 2010-04-07 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"Some answers would be very much appreciated," Reyna agreed. "Let's hope these 'others' that Stacy spoke of will be able to provide them." In spite of her pleasure at meeting Celena Reyna was still rather annoyed at being snatched from her home and dumped here, and she was determined to find out just exactly why someone had felt it necessary to do such a thing.

Reyna's eyes widened in wonder as she watched the light dance across Celena's skin. It made her want to touch Celena for a second time, but she was able to keep the impulse in check for a change. Celena's offer sounded wonderful, and Reyna nodded in agreement.

"I would be most grateful if you could do something to make me a little less, well, eye catching. In my culture nudity is usually reserved for more private encounters, so the thought of wandering around publicly in such a state is rather an uncomfortable one." Reyna could feel herself starting to blush and decided that she'd expounded on her predicament enough. There was no need to constantly remind herself that her hourglass figure was on display for all and sundry to see.
curiousredsoul: (Default)

[personal profile] curiousredsoul 2010-04-08 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"Indeed, let us hope they do," Celena replied with a nod, being taken in such a manner didn't sit the best with her. That fact though was balanced by the fact that Reyna was from another world entirely, the chance to learn of other worlds and cultures did brighten her outlook somewhat.

"That is understandable, well then, let us see about making you a little less eye catching for others in that case," Smiling down to her as she spoke, a more substantial ripple of light flowing up along the tiger stripe like markings all the way up to the particular ones that adorned her snout. A soft glow forming from those markings as the ripple passed.

Taking a brief moment to take in Reyna's bare form, no doubt in her mind that the other would be attractive by humanoid standards as she drew a small amount of her energy forth. A mist seeming to coalesce into existence around the human's form, seemingly solidifying and taking shape as that of a simple, yet fine white dress. While it moved and flowed as a dress should, it's actual form was insubstantial, not unlike a hologram.

"It may not be proper clothing, but at least it shall cover your form well enough. Is the design suitable enough for you?" She replied easily, tilting her head in question.

[identity profile] fierce-diplomat.livejournal.com 2010-04-09 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Reyna watched in fascination as light cascaded along Celena's magnificent form. She'd heard of such things before but had never witnessed them first-hand, and she found it quite intriguing. She dragged her attention back to her own form when a soft white mist began to gather around her. The pretty white dress that appeared a moment later made her smile happily. Even though she couldn't actually feel it on her it still did a wonderful job of hiding her nakedness. She twisted her generous hips experimentally and was delighted when the illusionary dress seemed to swish naturally around her legs.

"It's lovely!" Reyna gushed. "I can't thank you enough for such generous gift." She would have hugged Celena if she had been of a more huggable size. Instead she settled for placing a grateful hand on Celena's flank. "Now that I no longer have to worry about embarrassing stares I'm eager to get out of here. Let's see if we can't find an exit and some answers, shall we?"
curiousredsoul: (Talk)

[personal profile] curiousredsoul 2010-04-10 02:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Celena smiled as she watched Reyna tested the illusionary dress, the Linar dipping her head lightly in acknowledgment of her thanks, "I am glad, and you are welcome, it is the least I can do," she replied with a happy rumble at her grateful touch. The light from her markings dimming after the initial formation of the illusion, though not entirely, a faint yet constant red glow noticeable from her many markings.

"Indeed, let us find these 'others' and the answers they may hold," Lifting her head to its highest, Celena cast her gaze to the surrounding area, there, that walkway in the center, must lead somewhere. Looking back down to Reyna, "There, the center of the room, it would seem a likely exit," she replied, indicating with a gesture of a claw before she would begin to move in the direction indicated.

[identity profile] fierce-diplomat.livejournal.com 2010-04-11 12:09 pm (UTC)(link)
She had to step away from Celena a bit to see it, but Reyna nodded once she spotted the stairway in the distance. A nearby line of pulsing lights on the floor seemed to point in that direction as well, leading Reyna agree with Celena's assessment.

"I believe you are correct. Let's head that way and see where it leads." Reyna had only taken a couple of steps before something occurred to her and she stopped. Turing back to look at Celena she asked, "I'm not sure the staircase will accommodate your magnificent form. How will you be able to ascend with me?" She eyed Celena's wings speculatively. "Is the power of flight also amongst your many abilities?"
curiousredsoul: (Content)

[personal profile] curiousredsoul 2010-04-11 12:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Celena paused and tilted her head as Reyna stopped ahead of her. Pausing a moment to look back up to the staircase, "Hmm, perhaps you have a point," she replied thoughtfully, a soft chuckle gained as Reyna looked to her wings, "They are not for show I can tell you that now, it is very much so" Replying with a soft grin at that.

Looking about to make sure she had enough rough either side she spread her wings wide once more, stretching and testing the muscles before giving a confident nod. "Hmm, there doesn't seem to have been any detrimental affects to muscles, so yes with enough room, I could take off easily enough and land at the entrance above," Tilting her head as she looked over Reyna thoughtfully.

"Hmm, were I at my normal size I could carry you with ease, I may still be able to carry you up there, should you so wish it,"

[identity profile] fierce-diplomat.livejournal.com 2010-04-11 02:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Reyna was torn. On the one hand she was sorely tempted to accept Celana's offer, but on the other she felt like she'd already imposed on the magnificent being enough as it was. Then again, if the idea was truly offensive Celena won't have made the offer in the first place! Her decision made, Reyna grinned at Celena.

"I'd be delighted if you could carry me up there!" Her body thrilled at the thought of flying in the open air with Celena and she quickly padded over to her. "What would you like me to do?" she asked eagerly.
curiousredsoul: (Talk)

[personal profile] curiousredsoul 2010-04-12 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
Celena watched Reyna as she considered the offer. Stretching herself out a little, to get out any kinks in her muscles that would get in the way during flight. At Reyna's grin Celena nodded and grinned in turn. "It would be my pleasure to," she replied with a rumbling chuckle.

As she padded over, Celena crouched herself to make it simpler for Reyna to climb atop her, "If you sit at the base of my neck, you can use my neck and shoulders to aid in holding on," she replied easily, lowering her neck a little to aid Reyna in hopping up, smiling as she watched and waited for her to climb on.

[identity profile] fierce-diplomat.livejournal.com 2010-04-12 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Still grinning, Reyna clambered up Celena's flank to settle in at the base of her neck as instructed. As before Celena's skin felt wonderfully smooth and dry against her own. She made herself as comfortable as possible, opting to ride "sidesaddle" since in spite of the lovely dress Celena had provided for her she was still technically unclothed.

"I'm ready when you are Celena!" Reyna said excitedly, making sure her grip was secure and bracing herself for takeoff.

[personal profile] curiousredsoul 2010-04-13 12:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Celena watched her with a grin as she climbed aboard. Feeling the smooth skin of Reyna's form against her own smooth scales. Nodding with a rumble of excitement as she scanned the area about her one last time. Wings spreading wide to be sure of the room before lifting them high. Gathering her powerful hind legs beneath her as she readied herself.

"Hold on tight because here we go!" She warned over her shoulder, giving a second to take it in before she unleashed the power coiled in her legs, leaping high above the pods even as she brought her wings down, powerful wing strokes propelling her higher and higher.

After a moment she leveled out, wings spread wide to either side, gliding through the warm humid air of the cavern. The shear scale of the pod-cavern becoming all the clearer as the vast number of glowing pods stretched in all directions. Silent for the moment in awe of the scale before tilting her head to glance back to her passenger, "Holding up okay back there?"

[identity profile] fierce-diplomat.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Her stomach lurched when Celena launched herself into the air, but the sensation was actually rather thrilling, reminding Reyna of the way it felt when she gunned the engine on her swoop. The view from her perch behind Celena's neck was amazing, and Reyna found herself craning her neck every which way trying to take it all in. The pod cavern stretched as far as the eye could see and seemed large enough to hold the population of an entire planet.

"I'm doing just fine," she reassured Celena with a grin. "This is incredible! It is most definitely preferable to walking!"

[OOC: Between the illusionary dress and letting Reyna fly with her, Celena has just made a friend for life! XD]

"Good to hear it," She replied over her shoulder with a grin before dipping her head in a nod and a rumbling chuckle as she replied, "That it most certainly is indeed,"

Wings beating down in slow arches as they soared high above the pods below, Celena tilting everso lightly on wingtip as she arched their course to circle the pillar in the very center of the room. Taking in the shear number of pods on all sides above and below, briefly focusing a little bit of energy to her sight, the shear amount of life beaming from the room confirming her suspicions as to the pods. "There must be millions of them, nearly all inhabited.."

[ooc: With her interest, manners and similar curiosity, would seem Reyna's made one as well XD]

[identity profile] fierce-diplomat.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"It rather boggles the mind, doesn't it? All those people..." Reyna shook her head. "They couldn't all have been taken for the sole purpose of being a 'Champion of Life' could they?" It didn't make much sense, but without more information it was the only plausible answer. She pondered that as they flew majestically around the cavern, wondering what fate awaited the rest of the beings still held in stasis.

"It looks like the stairs end at a large landing near the top of that central pillar," Reyna told Celena, leaning forward a bit and pointing it out for her. "There's probably enough room for you to land there safely." She grinned and added, "Eventually."

[ooc: Yay! \o/ Sorry I didn't have Reyna tag Celena's post-Podpop post. I wanted to but was just too busy to squeeze it in. Sorry!]

"Indeed..unless they need a veritable army of such 'champions' there must be another reason.." Celena pondered aloud in reply. Shaking her head as she banked to circle around the central pillar once more, gaze tracing through the pods below. "There are others moving about down below it appears, similarly from the pods not unlike ourselves,"

As their flight path brought them back around the pillar she nodded, "Hmm, plenty of room to land indeed," She grinned at the added comment,"A little extra time in the air couldn't hurt," nodding in agreement as she arched to draw a large circle out towards the walls of the cavern before leading back in toward the pillar.

[OOC: Not a problem at all! Will always be other posts, will keep an eye out for any Reyna one's as well myself.]
