Snap, Crackle, and POP
[ooc: Newbie Helpers List | Instructions: Post your character with one post establishing them as being podpopped. Tag each other in groups of 2's, 3's, and 4's, to get some interaction to start with. If a thread doesn't already have 2 or 3 people tagged in, tag it with your character's podpop popping near the other people, rather than making a new subthread. If you would like to play out them talking to the AI, please send an email to the mods making the request--we do this only by request. Then move onto the big Newbie Meeting. Once your character has gotten the rundown from the old crew, you may start posting entrance posts and freely tagging.]
||Pod Release Protocols Initating|| Stacy's familiar voice sounds out to all the podmates through the ship.
In the Pod Caverns, there are the sounds of: Pop. Pop pop pop. Poppuhpoppoppop. KASCHUNKhiiiiiiiissssss.
There is condensation and mist spraying out from cracks in the pods, as the people inside slide out onto the floors, covered in slime.
--
There was nothing. You were going about your normal life, then there was a bright light, and then? Nothing.
Then the world lurches.
The chamber here is humid.
Actually, "chamber" isn't quite accurate. You're in a cavern, half-lit by an eerie greenish light, going on and on as far as the eye can see. The light is coming from what can only be described as pods, glistening, round greenish-yellow things, glowing with a pale inner light, outlining human -- and not quite human -- forms. Each is rooted to the floor, to the walls, with something black, twisted, and unidentifiable.
They line the walls of the cavern, go up in maddeningly high columns, curling and corkscrewing up into the darkness, until the light from them is like that of the stars, glowing pale and mournful in clusters in the darkness above. Twisted walkways and stairs crisscross, traverse the platforms in front of the pods, wending their way back and forth, up and down through the chamber.
You just came from one of those pods, broke free like a butterfly from a (slimy, nasty) chrysalis.
Now you stand alone but not quite alone, naked, not knowing how you got there, who took you, or why you were taken.
As your body heats up again, you realize the air is warm -- just a few degrees too warm to be comfortable -- and muggy; it smells acrid and organic, like freshly spilt blood and sweat. Your mouth tastes of salt.
The floors are pulsing under your feet, throbbing...
Wherever you are, this entire place...is alive.
Oh, and also you're naked and covered in alien snot.
When you call out, ask where you are, a voice speaks to you, in your head. She tells you:
||You are here.||
When you ask who she is, she tells you that her name is STA'C K'LTRRB'TXFT, but that you may call her Stacy. When she tells you who she is, there is a gush of emotion, love, maternal warmth. You are on a ship. She is that ship. Her name is Stacy and she loves you. Her voice is warm and motherly, even if these messages sound almost automated.
Glowing phosphorescenet lights appear in pustules along the floor. They lead you up a massive spiraling walkway that gives you a view of what are possibly millions in stasis. At the top is a room with moving vines that clean you and clothe you in a plant-like body-suit--soft, but durable. After that, the lights lead you to a great cavernous room with a clear floor that lets you see all the holes and tunnels in the walls of it. When you reach the center, the last thing she tells you before whisking you away to gather your belongings and meet the rest of the crew is this reassuring thought:
||You have been Chosen to accomplish a Great Purpose. You have been Chosen to help fight the Ohm, a race of insectoid beings that are the destroyers of worlds.||
||You have been Chosen as champions of life, as protectors of the worlds and peoples that are left. The others are waiting for you. They will explain everything.||
She will tell you nothing more. Your answers lie with these "others" she speaks of.

No, this place felt different..if it were nearby where she had last been, she would have found it before. That telepathic message though did suggest something else..chosen to fight? Hmm well could prove interesting.
Arching her long neck to look over her slime covered form she sniffed the slime experimentally before drawing up a little bit of energy along with shaking her form not unlike a dog shaking its fur, the slime freeing itself from her form and being flung about the vicinity. Leaving her markings softly glowing now as the somewhat large dragon looked curiously about the place.
no subject
"Hello there," she said cautiously so as not to startle the magnificent creature. "I'm called Reyna. What do they call you?" She found herself oddly at ease around this strange being, probably because they were different enough in form that she didn't feel quite so self-conscious about wearing nothing but bits of sticky green goo.
no subject
Dipping her head as she replied, "Greetings to you Reyna, I have gone by many names, but you may call me Celena," What may look like a light smile on the dragon's lips before going on, noting the extra goop on Reyna's form, "my apologies if I splashed you,"
no subject
"It's quite alright," she said in response to Celena's apology. "It was obviously unintentional. You were only trying to clean yourself up, much as I myself would like to do." She chuckled softly. "But until I find some proper clothing a little extra goo is probably a good thing."
"May I ask where you're from?" she inquired politely. "I don't think I've ever seen your race in the Republic's census files..."
no subject
Nodding at Rayna's response she gave a light chuckle in turn, "Indeed, though I can imagine it would not be the most comfortable thing in lieu of clothing," she shakes her head at that, smiling "I hope suitable clothing can be soon found for you, so you don't have to walk around in that goop,"
She gives a tilt of her head at the question, "I come from the world of Antara," She replies easily, processing the implications of Reyna's question, curious. "Hmm, Republic you say?"
no subject
"Thank you." She smiled at Celena's commiseration on her lack of clothing. "I must admit that I am quite looking forward to getting cleaned up and dressed." At least she hoped she would be able to do so, since most cultures covered their bodies in some way or another. Additionally, she couldn't fathom how she could serve as a Champion of Life and fight the Ohm stark naked! Thankfully the issue of clothing wasn't bothering her while she talked with Celana.
"Yes, where I come from most of the inhabited worlds in the known galaxy are members of the Republic, a representative body which governs by public mandate through the rule of law." The pride in Reyna's voice was evident as she spoke.
"I don't believe Antara is a member of the Republic though," she mused. "At the very least we've never discovered Antara and you've obviously never heard of us," she said with a small smile.
no subject
Her attention brought back to the human rather quickly as she explained the nature of the Republic, noting the pride with which she spoke of it, "It sounds a magnificent thing indeed, many worlds connected by the one civilization," Great interest could be heard in the dragon's tone, interest more than peaked.
Shaking her head though as she went on, "Indeed not, the native societies on Antara are far from reaching space flight, let alone reaching other worlds," She did not seem unfamiliar with the concepts though.
no subject
"I hope that someday our two peoples will meet, as I'm sure your race would make an invaluable addition to the Republic." She smiled at Celena and added, "Should you choose to join it of course. Membership in the Republic is neither required no coerced." Reyna could easily envision a delegation from Antara taking its place among the others in the Senate, their magnificent forms rivaling that of any of the other members.
That thought made Reyna's eyes wander over Celena's form once again, and this time she couldn't stop herself from reaching out to touch her skin. It felt wonderfully smooth and dry under her hand, supple near the joints and thicker along the planes of her neck and flank. She could feel it shift beneath her palm as Celena breathed, making for the most interesting sensations.
Realizing that she was taking liberties that she most definitely shouldn't, Reyna stepped back with an embarrassed blush on her cheeks. "Please forgive my impertinence," she apologized. "In most cultures what I just did would be considered quite rude, and I have no wish to offend you. My curiosity overrode my better judgment, and for that I apologize."
no subject
"As do I, perhaps someday they shall indeed. I am sure that my people would look highly upon such a society as your own," Celena would reply respectfully with a smile.
Falling silent, bar her breathing, she followed Reyna's motions with her calm gaze. Allowing the exploratory touch of her fingers over her form, shifting her wings to refold them a little as her tail swayed ever so lightly behind her.
An eyeridge raised as Reyna stood back suddenly, Celena dipping her head, "You have not offended me, you need not worry," Replying with the light rumble of a chuckle, "no harm, no foul," A hint of amusement in her eyes as she smiled, she knew all to well the ways of curiosity.
no subject
"Thank you for being so understanding. Sometimes I quite literally can't stop myself when my curiosity is piqued." She gave Celena a shy smile. "And you are an extremely interesting being."
"Would you mind walking with me as I search for a place to get cleaned up and dressed? I seem to feel far less... exposed in your presence," Reyna shifted self-consciously as the subject of her rather public nudity came bubbling back to the surface of her mind.
no subject
"I would not mind it in the least, perhaps answers shall await both of us at such a place," She replied with a light nod and a smile, her gaze drawn over her relatively bare form at her mention, "I am grateful I can provide such ease of mind for you,"
"Hmm, if you wish I could provide a minor illusion, to better obscure your form from others, should you wish it while we walk," Celena offered, a small ripple of light moving along the markings of her form as if in meaning.
no subject
Reyna's eyes widened in wonder as she watched the light dance across Celena's skin. It made her want to touch Celena for a second time, but she was able to keep the impulse in check for a change. Celena's offer sounded wonderful, and Reyna nodded in agreement.
"I would be most grateful if you could do something to make me a little less, well, eye catching. In my culture nudity is usually reserved for more private encounters, so the thought of wandering around publicly in such a state is rather an uncomfortable one." Reyna could feel herself starting to blush and decided that she'd expounded on her predicament enough. There was no need to constantly remind herself that her hourglass figure was on display for all and sundry to see.
no subject
"That is understandable, well then, let us see about making you a little less eye catching for others in that case," Smiling down to her as she spoke, a more substantial ripple of light flowing up along the tiger stripe like markings all the way up to the particular ones that adorned her snout. A soft glow forming from those markings as the ripple passed.
Taking a brief moment to take in Reyna's bare form, no doubt in her mind that the other would be attractive by humanoid standards as she drew a small amount of her energy forth. A mist seeming to coalesce into existence around the human's form, seemingly solidifying and taking shape as that of a simple, yet fine white dress. While it moved and flowed as a dress should, it's actual form was insubstantial, not unlike a hologram.
"It may not be proper clothing, but at least it shall cover your form well enough. Is the design suitable enough for you?" She replied easily, tilting her head in question.
no subject
"It's lovely!" Reyna gushed. "I can't thank you enough for such generous gift." She would have hugged Celena if she had been of a more huggable size. Instead she settled for placing a grateful hand on Celena's flank. "Now that I no longer have to worry about embarrassing stares I'm eager to get out of here. Let's see if we can't find an exit and some answers, shall we?"
no subject
"Indeed, let us find these 'others' and the answers they may hold," Lifting her head to its highest, Celena cast her gaze to the surrounding area, there, that walkway in the center, must lead somewhere. Looking back down to Reyna, "There, the center of the room, it would seem a likely exit," she replied, indicating with a gesture of a claw before she would begin to move in the direction indicated.
no subject
"I believe you are correct. Let's head that way and see where it leads." Reyna had only taken a couple of steps before something occurred to her and she stopped. Turing back to look at Celena she asked, "I'm not sure the staircase will accommodate your magnificent form. How will you be able to ascend with me?" She eyed Celena's wings speculatively. "Is the power of flight also amongst your many abilities?"
no subject
Looking about to make sure she had enough rough either side she spread her wings wide once more, stretching and testing the muscles before giving a confident nod. "Hmm, there doesn't seem to have been any detrimental affects to muscles, so yes with enough room, I could take off easily enough and land at the entrance above," Tilting her head as she looked over Reyna thoughtfully.
"Hmm, were I at my normal size I could carry you with ease, I may still be able to carry you up there, should you so wish it,"
no subject
"I'd be delighted if you could carry me up there!" Her body thrilled at the thought of flying in the open air with Celena and she quickly padded over to her. "What would you like me to do?" she asked eagerly.
no subject
As she padded over, Celena crouched herself to make it simpler for Reyna to climb atop her, "If you sit at the base of my neck, you can use my neck and shoulders to aid in holding on," she replied easily, lowering her neck a little to aid Reyna in hopping up, smiling as she watched and waited for her to climb on.
no subject
"I'm ready when you are Celena!" Reyna said excitedly, making sure her grip was secure and bracing herself for takeoff.
no subject
"Hold on tight because here we go!" She warned over her shoulder, giving a second to take it in before she unleashed the power coiled in her legs, leaping high above the pods even as she brought her wings down, powerful wing strokes propelling her higher and higher.
After a moment she leveled out, wings spread wide to either side, gliding through the warm humid air of the cavern. The shear scale of the pod-cavern becoming all the clearer as the vast number of glowing pods stretched in all directions. Silent for the moment in awe of the scale before tilting her head to glance back to her passenger, "Holding up okay back there?"
no subject
"I'm doing just fine," she reassured Celena with a grin. "This is incredible! It is most definitely preferable to walking!"
[OOC: Between the illusionary dress and letting Reyna fly with her, Celena has just made a friend for life! XD]
no subject
Wings beating down in slow arches as they soared high above the pods below, Celena tilting everso lightly on wingtip as she arched their course to circle the pillar in the very center of the room. Taking in the shear number of pods on all sides above and below, briefly focusing a little bit of energy to her sight, the shear amount of life beaming from the room confirming her suspicions as to the pods. "There must be millions of them, nearly all inhabited.."
[ooc: With her interest, manners and similar curiosity, would seem Reyna's made one as well XD]
no subject
"It looks like the stairs end at a large landing near the top of that central pillar," Reyna told Celena, leaning forward a bit and pointing it out for her. "There's probably enough room for you to land there safely." She grinned and added, "Eventually."
[ooc: Yay! \o/ Sorry I didn't have Reyna tag Celena's post-Podpop post. I wanted to but was just too busy to squeeze it in. Sorry!]
no subject
As their flight path brought them back around the pillar she nodded, "Hmm, plenty of room to land indeed," She grinned at the added comment,"A little extra time in the air couldn't hurt," nodding in agreement as she arched to draw a large circle out towards the walls of the cavern before leading back in toward the pillar.
[OOC: Not a problem at all! Will always be other posts, will keep an eye out for any Reyna one's as well myself.]
