In the Dog House

Grif is in the brig.

He's not a happy guy right now, but then again he's in the brig. The cot isn't comfortable but he's lying out on it on principle, boots up on the wall because the space is a tad narrow for him. Grif still has his armor, but he's been disarmed and his omnicomm has been confiscated. His comm ring is on one of the fingers on his right hand (he finds it creepy how it adjusted over his gauntlet) and honestly he feels pretty lucky. Nobody tried to superglue it to his forehead.

So for now, Grif is about as bored as he is physically capable of being and in fairly grumpy spirits as he lies on his back, hands folded on his chest, and tries to decide what the ceiling is made out of.

"Grif, if I didn't listen to people who hate you, I'd never find anything out."

He has to think for a few seconds to decipher the cryptic "everyone hates you, dumbass".

Tex just gets a laugh out of the delay. "Took you long enough."

"Ha ha you're a riot. Don't you have better things to do than sit down here and bother me?"

"Not really. It's not like the AI complex is that interesting, and I think the crew's still a little out of it."

"...Okay that wasn't so much a question as me telling you to buzz off."

"I think sticking around to watch you go stir-crazy could be a lot more entertaining."

"The only crazy happening here is because you won't leave me alone."

"I'm just talking. It's not like I'm making you run laps."

"And you're annoying."

Not that Grif would put laps past her, had they the space.

"And you aren't?"

"If I'm so annoying, why are you here voluntarily subjecting yourself to me, huh?"

"Because you're slightly less annoying than being bored or compiling things."

"Oh you poor, poor thing," he snarks.

"I'm not that poor," she says, sounding entirely too cheerful. "At least when you get too annoying? I can leave the brig. You can't."

"I'm not here to entertain you."

Grif rolls over onto his side in an effort to put his back to her, facing the wall of the cell.

"Like I said-it beats my other options. Especially the 'watch people stare out the obs deck and whine about things' option."

"So instead you come down here and listen to me whine about things?"

"Your whining's more interesting. Or maybe it's because I had to listen to you whine before the flying spleen and now I'm used to it."

"Mostly you just offered to rip my arms off," Grif replies darkly.

Oh yes, Tex, he remembers. And he judges you for it.

Tex's hologram briefly blips out and then back in to appear in front of Grif. She crosses her arms as she glares at him. "They're both still attached. You still owe me twenty bucks and favor, by the way."

He rolls to his other side. Take that!

"I do not."

"Yeah, you do." Her hologram pops over to the opposite side again. "A favor for helping you morons get your robot back, and twenty bucks for that time I didn't shoot you."

"You never actually got our robot back though," he points out.
